Bellefonte Area High School (previously known as Bellefonte High School) is a high school serving Bellefonte, Pennsylvania. “During the height of airmail operations in Bellefonte in 1925, as many as fifteen people worked there full-time. By 1926, though, powerful long-range aircraft were able to fly directly from New York to Cleveland, bypassing Bellefonte. The terminal was relegated to the status of emergency field only. All other intermediary cities lost their regular service too: Bryan, Iowa City, North Platte, Rawlins, and Rock Springs. Today, the site of Bellefonte airmail terminal, formerly the Beaver farm, is now the Bellefonte Area Senior High School. Centre County Christian Academy (CCCA) is a private, independent, non-denominational Christian school located in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania. It reported 155 students from pre-kindergarten to 12th grade in the fall of 2015. CCCA was founded in 1976 by a group of local pastors. The first class consisted of 13 students in kindergarten and first grade. Additional grades were added each year and the first graduating class was in 1982. Classes are taught by fifteen staff members. The school is part of the Keystone Christian Education Association. High school students compete in soccer, basketball, and track with other schools in the Allegheny Christian Athletic Association.

Union Cemetery located on East Howard Street in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania was established in 1795. Burials at the cemetery began in 1808, and the cemetery was formally chartered in 1856. The cemetery is the final resting place of several prominent residents of Pennsylvania, including Bellefonte's founding families, Pennsylvania governors and their wives, U.S. Congressmen, war heroes, and veterans, including Black soldiers from the Union's Army of the James during the American Civil War. Evan Pugh, the first president of the Pennsylvania State University is buried in the cemetery.

Bellefonte is a borough in, and the county seat of, Centre County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is approximately twelve miles northeast of State College and is part of the State College, Pennsylvania metropolitan statistical area. The borough population was 6,187 at the 2010 census. It houses the Centre County Courthouse, located downtown on the diamond. Bellefonte has also been home to five of Pennsylvania's governors, as well as two other governors. All seven are commemorated in a monument located at Talleyrand Park. The town features many examples of Victorian architecture. It is also home to the natural spring, "la belle fonte". bestowed by Charles Maurice de Talleyrand-Périgord during a land-speculation visit to central Pennsylvania in the 1790, from which the town derives its name. The spring, which serves as the town's water supply, has since been covered to comply with DEP water purity laws. The early development of Bellefonte had been as a "natural town." It started with one house and a crossroad, then iron was found and the town grew.
