Burnside High School

Cobham Intermediate School is a state intermediate school in the northwestern Christchurch, New Zealand suburb of Burnside. Cobham was originally named Fendalton Intermediate. However, there was confusion between the school and Fendalton Open Air School, so the governor-general of New Zealand, Viscount Cobham, allowed the school to use his name. At the end of term 1 in 2011 long-running principal Trevor Beaton left Cobham Intermediate to retire. Scott Thelning from Mt. Pleasant School took over as principal in Term 3, 2011. In March 2018 Cobham student Maia Devereaux invited Women's Minister Julie Anne Genter to come and talk about the gender pay gap to the room 11 and 12 students.

Burnside Park is a cricket ground in Burnside, Canterbury, New Zealand. The first recorded match on the ground came when Canterbury Women played Auckland Women in 1974. The ground later held its only first-class match in 1991 when Canterbury played Central Districts in the 1991/92 Shell Trophy, with the match ending in a 3 wicket victory for Canterbury.It is the home ground of the Burnside West Christchurch University Cricket Club. The park also has Burnside Rugby Club, Burnside Bowling Club, Burnside Tennis Club as well as other recreation facilities.

The Human Interface Technology Lab NZ (HIT Lab NZ) (Māori: Hangarau Tangata, Tangata Hangarau) is a research centre in the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Canterbury, in the South Island of New Zealand. Primarily the research undertaken fits within the ANZSRC Type of Activity applied research category. HIT Lab NZ also teaches two postgraduate research degrees, a PhD degree and a research Masters, both in the field of Human Interface Technology.

The University of Canterbury (UC) (Māori: Te Whare Wānanga o Waitaha; postnominal abbreviation Cantuar. or Cant. for Cantuariensis, the Latin name for Canterbury) is a public research university based in Christchurch, New Zealand. It was founded in 1873 as Canterbury College, the first constituent college of the University of New Zealand. It is New Zealand's second-oldest university, after the University of Otago, itself founded four years earlier in 1869. Its original campus was in the Christchurch Central City, but in 1961 it became an independent university and began moving out of its original neo-gothic buildings, which were re-purposed as the Christchurch Arts Centre. The move was completed on 1 May 1975 and the university now operates its main campus in the Christchurch suburb of Ilam. The university is well known for its Engineering and Science programmes, with its Civil Engineering programme ranked 9th in the world (Academic Ranking of World Universities, 2021). The UC CEISMIC Canterbury Earthquakes Digital Archive programme was established in 2011 with the aim of preserving the knowledge, memories and earthquake experiences of people of the Canterbury region. The Ngaio Marsh Theatre is a theatre at the University of Canterbury Students' Association in Christchurch, New Zealand. The Ngaio Marsh theatre was named in honour of Dame Ngaio Marsh, who was a director and patron of theatre, especially Shakespeare, at the University between 1942 and 1969, and indeed the theatre's opening production — Shakespeare's Twelfth Night — was directed by Marsh in 1967. The theatre replaced the Little Theatre, which had been destroyed by fire in 1948.The theatre was extensively damaged during the 2011 Christchurch earthquakes, and was subsequently demolished in October 2016. The rebuilt theatre, within Haere-roa, the University of Canterbury Students’ Association building at 90 Ilam Road in Christchurch, New Zealand, was officially opened on 2 August 2019. The opening involved a student production of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream, chosen because actor and honorary alumnus Sam Neill had appeared in a production directed by Ngaio Marsh in 1969.The new theatre is available for short-term or long-term hire. Full AV and technical facilities and orchestra pit are available. A retractable seating structure allows for capacity of 330 seated and 1000 standing.

Fendalton Open Air School is a primary school in Christchurch, New Zealand known for its open-air classrooms. Fendalton Primary School was established in 1875, continuing to provide education for primary school children in Fendalton for over 140 years. As of 2007, the school has 520 students, and the principal is Raewyn Saunders. In 2002 and 2003, it was runner up in the Goodman Fielder School of the Year Awards.

Aorangi School was located in the suburb of Bryndwr in Christchurch, Canterbury, New Zealand. The school was closed by the government on 27 January 2010.About 40 of the former Aorangi School students transferred to Burnside Primary School. The last principal was Stephanie Thompson. The school's roll before closure was 87.The prime minister, John Key, was a student at Aorangi.

The Macmillan Brown Library (also known by its Māori name Te Puna Rakahau o Macmillan Brown) is a research library, archive, and art collection based in the New Zealand city of Christchurch. It is a library collection of national significance administrated by the University of Canterbury. The library is also a member of the Pacific Manuscripts Bureau.
