Wheeling Park High School is a public high school in Wheeling, West Virginia, United States. It is the only public high school in the Ohio County School District. Athletic teams compete as the Wheeling Park Patriots in the WVSSAC Class AAA, as well as the Ohio Valley Athletic Conference. The school opened for the 1976-1977 academic year following the consolidation of Wheeling, Triadelphia, Warwood and West Liberty high schools.

WPHP (91.9 FM) is a high school radio station broadcasting a Contemporary Hit Radio music format. Licensed to Wheeling, West Virginia, United States, it serves the greater Wheeling area. The station is currently owned by the Ohio County Board Of Education and is operated by the students of Wheeling Park High School.

Oglebay Park is a self-supporting public municipal park, the only one of its kind, located on the outskirts of Wheeling, West Virginia, on 1,650 acres (670 ha). In 1926, Earl W. Oglebay (of Oglebay, Norton, and Company) deeded his estate, Waddington Farms, to the city of Wheeling for the express purpose of public recreation. The park has been open to the public since 1928 when its governing body, the Wheeling Park Commission, began operations.Several Waddington Farms buildings, including the Mansion Museum and the greenhouse, remain in use today. Others, such as the Carriage House, have been rebuilt in the style of the original structures. Placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979, the Oglebay Mansion is operated as a museum by the Oglebay Institute. The park currently incorporates two championship golf courses, two standard courses (9-hole and 18-hole), one par three course, eleven tennis courts, a large outdoor pool, extensive walking trails, the Good Zoo, the Mansion Museum (operated by the Oglebay Institute), gardens, a greenhouse, the Anne Kuchinka Amphitheater, the Wilson Lodge (containing over 271 rooms), 54 cottages, The Schrader Center (a nature center operated by the Oglebay Institute), a planetarium (located within the Good Zoo), a ski slope, Camp Russel, and Schenk Lake, which is used for fishing, pedal boating, Segway tours,several nightly fountain shows in season,and the Speidel Observatory. Annual events at the park include, but are not limited to: The Winter Festival of Lights, Oglebayfest, the Ohio County Fair, the West Virginia Open (tennis), Springfest, and Fort Henry Days (a living history weekend).

Fischer-Lasch Farmhouse, also known as Hillwood Dairy Farm, is a historic farmhouse located at Wheeling, Ohio County, West Virginia. It was built in 1884, and is a 2+1⁄2-story I house-style red-brick dwelling in the Italianate style.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1995.

Elm Hill, also known as the Campbell-Bloch House, is a historic house and national historic district located near Wheeling, Ohio County, West Virginia. The district includes two contributing buildings and one contributing site. The main house was built about 1850, and is a 2+1⁄2-story, brick house with a low 2-story wing in the Greek Revival style. It has an L-shaped plan, a 3-bay entrance portico, and hipped roof with an octagonal bell-cast central cupola. The interior has a central formal hall plan. Also on the property are a contributing brick, spring house / smoke house and a small cemetery dating to about 1835.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991.

Stratford Springs, located near Wheeling, Ohio County, West Virginia, US, is a nationally recognized historic district called the Wheeling Country Club. The country club operated from this location until 1980 when it moved to its present facilities. The district includes four contributing buildings; the former Club House (1902), Franzheim Bungalow, the former Pro and Caddy House, and the former Servant's Residence. The former clubhouse was designed by noted Wheeling architect Frederick F. Faris (1870-1927). Hole 13 green and hole 14 teeing ground now abut the former clubhouse. The historic district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.

Woodsdale–Edgewood Neighborhood Historic District is a national historic district located at Wheeling, Ohio County, West Virginia. The district encompasses 969 contributing buildings and is primarily residential, developed between 1888 and 1945. A number of popular architectural styles are represented including Shingle Style, Queen Anne, Tudor Revival, American Foursquare, Colonial Revival and Bungalow style. The district also includes four Lustron houses. Notable non-residential buildings include the Edgwood Christian Mission Alliance Church (1932), St. John's Episcopal Chapel (1913), Mount Carmel Monastery (1915) designed by Frederick F. Faris (1870-1927), and Good Shepherd Home (1912). Also located in the district are the separately listed H. C. Ogden House and William Miles Tiernan House.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1997.

Mount Saint Joseph, also known as Holloway Estate, is a historic house and motherhouse located near Wheeling, Ohio County, West Virginia. The Holloway House was built in 1854; the original farmhouse is two stories and measures 35 feet by 45 feet. In 1917 it was purchased by W. W. Holloway (1886-1969), the son of prominent Wheeling businessman John Jacob Holloway. W. W. Holloway had married into the Whitaker iron family in 1911 by his marriage to Margaret Louise Glass. They made two additions to the house in the 1920s; one with a garage and apartment above, and an L-shaped addition which became the main living quarters. Located on the property is an immense, three winged structure built as the motherhouse for the Sisters of St. Joseph. It is a Modern building built in 1954–1956. Also on the property are a contributing cold storage building, spring house, and bathhouse.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2008.

"Edemar", also known as Stifel Fine Arts Center, is a historic house and national historic district located at Wheeling, Ohio County, West Virginia. The district includes two contributing buildings and two contributing structures. The main house was built between 1910 and 1914, and is a 2+1⁄2-story, brick-and-concrete Classical Revival mansion with a steel frame. The front facade features a full-width portico with pediment supported by six Corinthian order columns. Also on the property are a contributing brick, tiled-roofed three-bay carriage barn/garage; fish pond; and formal garden. The Stifel family occupied the home until 1976, when the family gave it to the Oglebay Institute to be used as the Stifel Fine Arts Center.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1992.

The National Road Corridor Historic District is a historic district in eastern Wheeling, West Virginia. The district encompasses a 1.5-mile (2.4 km) section of the National Road from Park View Lane to Bethany Pike. A primarily residential area, the district includes the homes of some of Wheeling's wealthiest residents of the late 19th century and early 20th century. The homes are generally situated on large lots and were designed in popular architectural styles of the period, including Queen Anne, Colonial Revival, Italianate, Shingle Style, Classical Revival, Mission Revival, and Tudor Revival. Frederick F. Faris and Edward B. Franzheim, both significant Wheeling architects, each designed multiple homes along the road. The district also includes two cemeteries, Greenwood Cemetery and Mount Calvary Cemetery; Hornbrook Park (Wheeling Park), the site of a Madonna of the Trail monument and a Civil War memorial; Triadelphia High School, also designed by Faris; and three churches.The district was added to the National Register of Historic Places on February 11, 1993.
