The station was opened in December 2012 as part of the Mangpo extension of the Bundang Line. The station is located at 1055 Yeongtong-dong, Yeongtong-gu, Suwon-si, Gyeonggi-do and serves Yeongtong-dong and Yeongtong-gu. It has two side platforms with two tracks running between them and is located underground at an approximate depth of 28 meters. It also serves as an important transportation hub connecting to Wangsimni or Cheongnyangni Stations on Seoul Subway Lines 2 & 5 respectively. The station features a number of amenities including ticket vending machines, elevators, escalators and restrooms. It also provides transfer access to bus routes and multiple intercity buses as well as bike rental services. Additionally, there are various shops located within the premises that offer food and beverages for commuters. Cheongmyeong Station is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week allowing passengers to travel conveniently without any time restrictions. The station's name derives from its native Korean name 청명 (Cheonmgyeong) which literally means "clear brightness". In hanja script it is written 淸明驛 meaning "clear bright station".

Metapolis is a complex of four residential skyscrapers in Hwaseong, South Korea With the ground broken in July 2006 by POSCO E&C and the buildings topped-out in August 2009, the structures were completed in July 2010. The two tallest towers (#101 and #104) have heights of 249m and 247m respectively and 66 storeys each, making them the third-tallest residential skyscrapers in South Korea and the centerpiece of the New Dongtan City. The two shorter skyscrapers are 60 (#102) and 55 (#103) floors in height, measuring 224m and 203m respectively.

They are collectively called Metapolis and contain a shopping mall. Dongtan also has the Suseo–Pyeongtaek high-speed railway (SRT) that goes from Suseo station to Jije station. The subway is 52.3 km (32.5 mi) long as the third longest in the world. It also has the longest tunnel for a subway that goes at a speed of 300 km/h (190 mph). Dongtan Station will be the terminus of the first line of the GTX higher-speed train which enters into service in March 2024.

There are various water facilities such as a wall fountain, a floor fountain, and a water plaza.In Freiburg, you can see the scenery of both the Sindae Lake and the Wonchon Lake. The height is 33m. In addition, there are cultural facilities such as a family camping ground, a climbing ground, a dog playground, and an outdoor performance hall.
