The New Jersey Women's Hall of Fame was established in 2011, by the YWCA of Trenton, in Trenton, New Jersey. Inductions into the hall of fame occur at the Annual Induction Gala, which is held in the Spring. Each inductee receives the Gerber Daisy Award, created in 2011 by Boehm Porcelain, of Trenton, for the hall of fame. The inaugural class was inducted on March 31, 2011. The YWCA of Trenton—sponsor of the hall—was founded in 1904, to empower women, eliminate racism, and promote peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for everyone.

Friends Burying Ground is a cemetery in Trenton in the U.S. state of New Jersey. The cemetery is located on the west side of North Montgomery Street north of East Hanover Street, adjacent to the Trenton Friends Meeting House.

Trenton Friends Meeting House is a historic Quaker meeting house at 142 E. Hanover Street in Trenton, Mercer County, New Jersey, United States. The Trenton Quaker Meeting House dates back to 1739. It was occupied by the British Dragoons in 1776, and by the Continental Army later in the Revolutionary War. It has been in continuous use by Quakers in and around Trenton ever since it was built. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2008.

Daylight/Twilight Alternative High School is a four-year alternative public high school that serves students in ninth through twelfth grades from Trenton, in Mercer County, New Jersey, United States, operating as part of the Trenton Public Schools. The school offers daytime programs for students who have faced challenges in the traditional school setting, as well as evening programs for those ages 21 and older. A 30/60 day course program offers six cycles throughout the year in which students take a four-hour core course on a daily basis for 30 days while also taking a two-hour elective for 60 days in each cycle.As of the 2021–22 school year, the school had an enrollment of 466 students and 39.5 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 11.8:1. There were 148 students (31.8% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and none eligible for reduced-cost lunch.

The Trenton Six is the group name for six African-American defendants tried for murder of an elderly white shopkeeper in January 1948 in Trenton, New Jersey. The six young men were convicted in August 1948 by an all-white jury of the murder and sentenced to death. Their case was taken up as a major civil rights case, because of injustices after their arrests and questions about the trial. The Civil Rights Congress and the NAACP had legal teams that represented three men each in appeals to the State Supreme Court. It found fault with the court's instruction to the jury, and remanded the case to a lower court for retrial, which took place in 1951. That resulted in a mistrial, requiring a third trial. Four of the defendants were acquitted. Ralph Cooper pleaded guilty, implicating the other five in the crime. Collis English was convicted of murder, but the jury recommended mercy – life in prison rather than execution. The civil rights groups appealed again to the State Supreme Court, which found fault with the court, and remanded the case to the lower court for retrial of the two defendants who were sentenced to life. One was convicted in 1952 and the other pleaded guilty; both were sentenced to life. Collis English died in late December that year in prison. Ralph Cooper was paroled in 1954 and disappeared from the records.

First Presbyterian Church is a historic church located at 120 East State Street in Trenton, Mercer County, New Jersey, United States. The church's first congregation got together in 1712 and their first church was built in 1726. The church building and churchyard cemetery were added to the National Register of Historic Places for their significance in architecture, politics, religion, and social history on September 9, 2005.

Established in 1703, St. Michael's Church in downtown Trenton, Mercer County, New Jersey, United States, is a founding parish of the Episcopal Diocese of New Jersey. Its present building located at 140 North Warren Street was built in 1747–1748, and was renovated in 1810 and 1847–1848. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on April 29, 1982 as St. Michael's Episcopal Church.Its congregation, now a mission of the Episcopal Diocese of New Jersey, has involved itself in the history and culture of the city of Trenton from its founding in 1703 to the present.

Trenton is the capital city of the U.S. state of New Jersey and the seat of Mercer County. It was the capital of the United States from November 1 until December 24, 1784. Trenton and Princeton are the two principal cities of the Trenton–Princeton metropolitan statistical area, which encompasses those cities and all of Mercer County for statistical purposes and constitutes part of the New York combined statistical area by the U.S. Census Bureau. However, Trenton directly borders the Philadelphia metropolitan area to its west, and the city was part of the Philadelphia combined statistical area from 1990 until 2000.As of the 2020 United States census, Trenton was the state's 10th-most-populous municipality, with a population of 90,871, an increase of 5,958 (+7.0%) from the 2010 census count of 84,913, which in turn had reflected a decline of 490 (−0.6%) from the 85,403 counted in the 2000 census. Trenton is the only city in New Jersey that serves three separate commuter rail transit systems (Amtrak, NJ Transit, and SEPTA), and the city has encouraged a spate of transit-oriented development since 2010.Trenton dates back at least to June 3, 1719, when mention was made of a constable being appointed for Trenton while the area was still part of Hunterdon County. Boundaries were recorded for Trenton Township as of March 2, 1720. A courthouse and jail were constructed in Trenton around 1720, and the Freeholders of Hunterdon County met annually in Trenton.Abraham Hunt was appointed in 1764 as Trenton's first Postmaster. On November 25, 1790, Trenton became New Jersey's capital, and by November 13, 1792, the City of Trenton was formed within Trenton Township. Trenton Township was incorporated as one of New Jersey's initial group of 104 townships by an act of the New Jersey Legislature on February 21, 1798. On February 22, 1834, portions of Trenton Township were taken to form Ewing Township. The remaining portion of Trenton Township was absorbed by the city on April 10, 1837. A series of annexations took place over a 50-year period with the city absorbing South Trenton (April 14, 1851), portions of Nottingham Township (April 14, 1856), Chambersburg Township and Millham Township (both on March 30, 1888), and Wilbur (February 28, 1898). Portions of Ewing Township and Hamilton Township were annexed to Trenton on March 23, 1900.

Taylor Opera House was an opera house in Trenton, New Jersey. It was the city's first theater, and was founded by John Taylor, creator of Pork Roll and one of Trenton's leading citizens. The building first opened March 18, 1867 at 18 S. Broad Street. A historical marker was placed on the site after its demolition.The theater presented the major speakers and performers of the day, including Mark Twain, Ethel Barrymore, and George M. Cohan, and played host to political conventions, Bible conferences, musical revues and local meetings and events. It hosted the inaugurations of Governor George B. McClellan in 1877, and Woodrow Wilson in 1910, James F. Fielder in 1914 and Walter Evans Edge in 1917.In 1921, it was converted into a movie and vaudeville palace known as Keith's Capitol Theatre; after later sales it was renamed the RKO International. The theater was razed by its next door neighbor (the Trenton Saving Fund Society) to create a parking lot in 1969.A mural that was originally displayed at the opera house was rediscovered after a search began in 2021. Painted by George Matthews Harding in 1921 titled, "Washington Crossing the Delaware", the 16x10 foot painting was lost after it was put into storage having been deemed too large to display at another museum.

The Broad Street National Bank building is located at 143 East State Street in the city of Trenton in Mercer County, New Jersey, United States. It was built in 1900 and added to the National Register of Historic Places on January 17, 2008, for its significance in architecture and commerce. The building was the first skyscraper in the city.

The Cathedral of St. Mary of the Assumption, also known simply as St. Mary’s Cathedral, is the Catholic cathedral in Trenton, New Jersey, United States. Along with the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine in Freehold, it is the seat of the Diocese of Trenton.

Trenton Cathedral High School was a Roman Catholic high school in Trenton, in Mercer County, New Jersey, United States. The school was operated by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Trenton from 1908 until it was closed after the 1971–72 school year due to excessive costs of a required repair project.
