Incarnate Word Academy is an all-girls Roman Catholic college preparatory school located in Downtown Houston, Texas, United States. Incarnate Word Academy serves grades 9 through 12 and is owned and operated by the Congregation of the Incarnate Word and Blessed Sacrament. IWA opened a new $15 million, 18,500 square feet (1,720 m2) academic building in the Spring of 2017 to provide additional space for classes, collaboration, student life, and fine arts.

Union Station is a building in Houston, Texas, in the United States. Dedicated on March 2, 1911, and formerly a hub of rail transportation, the building now serves as a cornerstone for Minute Maid Park. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and has since been superseded by Houston's Amtrak station.

The Arthur B. Cohn House (also known locally as the "Blue House") is a property listed on the National Register of Historic Places located in downtown Houston. The house is now about a block away from its original location at 1711 Rusk Avenue to the 600 block of Avenidas de las Americas, adjacent to Minute Maid Park, and will shortly be moved to a former parking lot site at the corner of Commerce and Hamilton Streets. The Queen Anne house was built for Cohn in 1905 by local architect, Michael DeChaumes.

Convention District is a light rail station in Houston, Texas on the METRORail system. It is served by the Green and Purple lines and is located on Capitol and Rusk streets near the Avenida De La Americas. The station is named for the nearby George R. Brown Convention Center; it is also adjacent to Minute Maid Park, the home venue of the MLB team the Houston Astros. Convention District station opened on May 23, 2015.

Minute Maid Park is a retractable roof stadium in Houston, Texas, United States. It opened in 2000 as the home ballpark of Major League Baseball's Houston Astros. It has a seating capacity of 41,168, which includes 5,197 club seats and 63 luxury suites. The stadium has a natural grass playing field. It was built as a replacement for the Astrodome, the first domed sports stadium ever built, which opened in 1965.

The Marriott Marquis Houston is a 1000-room Marriott hotel in Houston, Texas. It is the second large hotel located near the George R. Brown Convention Center, to which is connected by a pedestrian sky bridge. It includes six restaurants and a 40,000-square-foot ballroom, the largest in Houston. The hotel is the sixth Marriott Marquis Hotel. It is most famous for the Texas shaped lazy river located on the sixth floor rooftop deck.The Marriott Marquis Houston was developed in partnership with RIDA Development. Biggio's is a sports bar and restaurant in Houston, Texas. It has been described as the largest sports bar in Texas. Created in partnership with Craig Biggio and the Houston Astros, as well as Marriott Marquis Houston, the bar has been described as MLB-owned by the Houston Press.

Kinder High School for the Performing and Visual Arts (Kinder HSPVA, HSPVA or PVA) is a secondary school located at 790 Austin Street in the downtown district of Houston, Texas. The school is a part of the Houston Independent School District. The school educates grades nine through twelve. The school is divided into six departments: instrumental music, vocal music, dance, theater (including technical theater), visual arts, and creative writing. HSPVA was placed as the top school in the Greater Houston Area by Children at Risk's 2009 annual ranking of high schools, and it has continued to be ranked as an "A" grade or higher by Children at Risk. Since 2003, HSPVA has had eight students named US Presidential Scholars in the Arts (Presidential Scholars Program) by the US Department of Education as selected by the National YoungArts Foundation (YoungArts).As a Magnet school, HSPVA does not automatically enroll students from the surrounding neighborhood; the surrounding neighborhood is zoned to Northside High School.

Monument au Fantôme (English: Monument to the Phantom) is an outdoor sculpture by French sculptor Jean Dubuffet, installed on Avenida de las Americas at Discovery Green in Houston, Texas, United States. The painted fiberglass and steel frame sculpture features seven individual forms that represent features of Houston, including a chimney, church, dog, hedge, mast, phantom, and tree. Donated by the Dan Duncan family, it is part of Dubuffet's Hourloupe series, which has companion sculptures in Chicago, New York, and in Europe.

The Azteca Theater (named the Houston theater from 1927–1955) was a venue to perpetuate the mexican traditions and culture. It was located in Houston Texas from the 1927 to 1955. Among other institutions at the time, this theater helped maintain traditions in Spanish, for the Latino community.

Hess Tower is a 29-story building located adjacent to Discovery Green park in downtown Houston, Texas. It was formerly called Discovery Tower until Hess Corporation leased the entire tower in January 2009.The global architectural firm Gensler designed the building. The building was a project of Trammell Crow Company, a real estate development and investment firm.The building was originally designed to house a number of wind turbines, but the turbines were removed in December 2010.

The Federal Detention Center, Houston (FDC Houston) is a United States federal prison in Downtown Houston, Texas which holds male and female inmates prior to and during court proceedings, as well an inmates serving short sentences. It is operated by the Federal Bureau of Prisons, a division of the United States Department of Justice. It is in proximity to Minute Maid Park.The facility, opened in October 1999, has space for 1,118 prisoners and was built for $35 million. The 11 story facility serves people awaiting trial in the Southern District of Texas.
