The Monmouth County Horse Show has been running since 1895 and is now located in Freehold, New Jersey.

The Freehold and Howell Plank Road was a plank road in New Jersey, running south from Freehold into Howell Township. Its path is now roughly followed by New Jersey Route 79, U. S. Route 9 and County Route 524. The Freehold and Howell Plank Road was chartered March 1, 1853 by an act of the New Jersey Legislature. On June 1, 1901, it was purchased by the Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders and incorporated into the county highway system. Portions were later taken over as a state highway.

Biotechnology High School (BTHS), or commonly referred to as Biotech, is a four-year comprehensive vocational public high school serving students in ninth through twelfth grades in Freehold Township, Monmouth County, United States, as part of the Monmouth County Vocational School District (MCVSD). Its curriculum includes a science program, consisting of eight different science classes spread over four years, designed to prepare students to pursue further education in biotechnology and the natural sciences. Emphasis is placed on research, laboratory skills, critical thinking, problem solving, technology, and teamwork. Over 90% of the 2009 graduates selected college majors in the life sciences. The school has been accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Elementary and Secondary Schools since 2005.Since the graduation of its first class in 2009, it has consistently been ranked one of the best high schools on the East Coast and in the United States by national media outlets. According to the national high school rankings report published annually by U.S. News & World Report, the school was ranked sixth in New Jersey, and 85th in the nation, in 2020. As of April 2007, it became an official International Baccalaureate Organization school, offering the IB Diploma Programme to all students. BTHS is the only high school in New Jersey in which 100% of students are IB Diploma Candidates. Most of the courses taken in the junior and senior years are IB courses, which are comparable to Advanced Placement (AP) courses. Courses taken during freshman and sophomore years prepare students for IB. At the beginning of their junior year, students declare either an IB Chemistry or IB Physics concentration, which requires two full years of study accumulated in an exam session. Depending on the course and plan of study, IB exams for other courses are administered in the spring of their junior or senior year. Students also complete a full-time senior mentorship under an employer of their choice during their last month before graduation. As of the 2021–22 school year, the school had an enrollment of 315 students and 26.0 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student-teacher ratio of 12.1:1. There were 1 students (0.3% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 2 (0.6% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch. The average graduating class size is around 70-80 students.

The Talmudical Academy of Central New Jersey (Adelphia) is an Orthodox Jewish yeshiva high school and rabbinical college in Howell Township, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2013–14 school year, the school had an enrollment of 44 students and 4.0 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 11.0:1. The school's student body was 100.0% White.Founded in 1970 by Rabbi Yeruchim Shain in Adelphia, New Jersey, the school was originally a boarding school for high-school-college aged boys from the New York City area. Today the school has students from all over the world. Many of its alumni are teachers, principals and educators in their respective communities. The Yeshiva has a state-of-the-art gym and a Mikvah (ritual bath) on its 10-acre (40,000 m2) campus.

Burlington Heights is an unincorporated community located within Freehold Township in Monmouth County, New Jersey, United States. The community was created in the early 1960s and originally consisted of 112 homes of mixed styles designed by Peter Petillo and Associates of Freehold. It is located along Colts Neck Road (County Route 537) on the east side of the township, near New Jersey Route 18 and the Colts Neck municipal line.

The Monmouth County Vocational School District (MCVSD) is a vocational and technical public school district in Monmouth County, New Jersey, United States, providing vocational education to students across the county. Monmouth County Vocational School District has 15 learning environments. The shared time programs located in Aberdeen Township, Freehold Township, Hazlet Township, Keyport, Long Branch, Middletown Township and Wall Township provide students with field experience in various trades and professions. East Freehold is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) located within Freehold Township, in Monmouth County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 United States Census, the CDP's population was 4,894.

Colts Neck High School is a four-year comprehensive public high school located in Colts Neck Township, in Monmouth County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey, serving students in ninth through twelfth grades and operating as one of the six secondary schools of the Freehold Regional High School District. The school is located at the corner of County Route 537 and Five Points Road. The school serves students from all of Colts Neck Township and from portions of both Howell Township and Marlboro Township. The school has been accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Elementary and Secondary Schools since 2008.As of the 2021–22 school year, the school had an enrollment of 1,347 students and 92.2 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 14.6:1.
