University of Copenhagen Faculty of Science

The Metropolitan University College (Danish: Professionshøjskolen Metropol), also referred to as Metropolitan UC or MUC, is a university college offering a range of bachelor's degree and academy profession degree programmes in Copenhagen, Denmark. All programmes are taught in Danish except for a bachelor's degree in Global Nutrition and Health. A range of courses and modules in English are available to exchange students. The Metropolitan UC is organized in two faculties with a total of nine departments. Its activities are spread out on a number of sites, in Nørrebro, Frederiksberg, and central Copenhagen. It has a total of approximately 9,000 students spread over 15 medium term higher education. The University College translates annually for approximately DKK 700 million.

The North Campus (Danish: Nørre Campus) is one of the University of Copenhagen's four campuses in Copenhagen, Denmark. It is situated just north of the city centre, across from Copenhagen's largest park, Fælledparken, and between the Østerbro and Nørrebro districts. It is home to the Faculty of Science and the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences.

The Department of Chemistry (Danish: Kemisk Institut) is a department under the Faculty of Science, University of Copenhagen. It is the largest basic research institute in chemistry in Denmark, and is responsible for the teaching of chemistry at all levels at the University of Copenhagen's Faculty of Science: from undergraduate courses in chemistry to Ph.D.-level courses. Its office is located at the University of Copenhagen's North Campus.

The Bioinformatics Centre is an interdisciplinary research in bioinformatics at the University of Copenhagen (UCPH). The centre is housed in the Section for Computational and RNA Biology at the Department of Biology within the Faculty of Science.

The UCPH Department of Mathematical Sciences (Danish: Institut for Matematiske Fag) is a department under the Faculty of Science at the University of Copenhagen (UCPH). The department is based at the university's North Campus in Copenhagen.

The Nano-Science Center is a center at the University of Copenhagen dedicated to the teaching and research of nanotechnology. The Nano-Science Center was inaugurated in 2001 in a cooperation between the Niels Bohr Institute (physics) and the Department of Chemistry. It resides in the D block of the interconnected Hans Christian Ørsted Building complex. The current chairman is professor Bo Wegge Laursen. A new undergraduate program (3 years ending with a B.Sc. in nanotechnology) admitted the first students in September 2002, currently admitting about 60 students per year. Graduates are expected to continue to get a M.Sc. within a subfield of nanotechnology.

Nørre Alle (literally "North Avenue") is a street in Copenhagen, Denmark, running from Blegdamsvej in Nørrebro in the south to Vibenshus Runddel in Østerbro in the north. It runs through University of Copenhagen's North Campus which is centred on its junction with Tagensvej. The section north of the junction, which separates Fælledparken to the east from the University Park to the west, is a busy artery. De Gamles By is situated on the west side of the more quiet, western portion.

De Gamles By is a home for the elderly occupying an extensive site in the Nørrebro district of Copenhagen, Denmark. It is increasingly integrated with the surrounding community and is now also home to other facilities, including day cares, a Maggie's Centres'style facility and urban gardens.

Alderstrøst refers to two residential complexes built by Association of Craftsmen in Copenhagen to provide affordable housing for elderly, indigent members and their widows in the Nørrebro district of Copenhagen, Denmark. The oldest is located on Nørrebrogade (Nørrebrogade 17, Baggesensgade 10 and Blågårdsgade 9). The other one is located at the corner of Nørre Allé (No. 15–19) and Møllegade (No. 28–30). The Nørreborgade complex is no longer owned by Håndværkerforeningen.

The Copenhagen Zoological Museum (Danish: Zoologisk Museum) is a part of the Natural History Museum of Denmark, which is affiliated with the University of Copenhagen.

The UCPH Department of Computer Science (Danish: Datalogisk Institut, DIKU) is a department in the Faculty of Science at the University of Copenhagen (UCPH). It is the longest established department of Computer Science in Denmark and was founded in 1970 by Turing Award winner Peter Naur. As of 2021, it employs 82 academic staff, 126 research staff and 38 support staff. It is consistently ranked the top Computer Science department in the Nordic countries, and in 2017 was placed 9th worldwide by the Academic Ranking of World Universities.

Møllegade (lit. "Mill Street") is a street in the Nørrebro district of Copenhagen, Denmark. It runs from Nørrebrogade in the southwest to Nørre Allé in the northeast. Copenhagen's Jewish Northern Cemetery has its entrance on the south side of the street and De Gamles By is located on its north side.
