Miss Willie's House, also known as the Dr. Samuel Welch House, is a historic brick Queen Anne-style house in Talladega, Alabama, USA. It was built by Dr. Samuel W. Welch and his wife Ethel in 1907. Upon the deaths of Dr. Welch and his wife, the house passed to their daughter, Miss Willie Wallace Welch, who lived in the house until her death in 1997. The house is a contributing property to the "Silk Stocking District", a historic district designated in 1979 by the National Register of Historic Places in Talladega County.

Talladega (, also ) is the county seat of Talladega County, Alabama, United States. It was incorporated in 1835. At the 2020 census, the population was 15,861. Talladega is approximately 50 miles (80 km) east of one of the state’s largest cities, Birmingham. The city is home to the Alabama Institute for the Deaf and Blind and the Talladega Municipal Airport, a public general aviation airport. The Talladega Superspeedway, Talladega College and the International Motorsports Hall of Fame are located nearby. The First National Bank of Talladega (now First Bank of Alabama) is the oldest bank in the State of Alabama, being founded in 1848.

First Presbyterian Church is a historic church in Talladega, Alabama. It was built in 1860 and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

The Talladega-Sylacauga Micropolitan Statistical Area is a micropolitan statistical area that consisted of two counties in Alabama, anchored by the cities of Talladega and Sylacauga, as defined by the United States Census Bureau and the United States Office of Management and Budget. The area is also included in the Birmingham-Hoover-Talladega, Alabama Combined Statistical Area. As of the 2010 census, the μSA had a population of 93,830.In 2013, the United States Office of Management and Budget added Coosa County to the micropolitan statistical area; it was previously part of the now-defunct Alexander City micropolitan area.

Talladega College is a private, historically black college in Talladega, Alabama. It is Alabama's oldest private historically black college and offers 17 degree programs. It is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.

Swayne Hall is the oldest building on the campus of Talladega College in Talladega, Talladega County, Alabama, United States. It was built in 1857 by slaves for use by a Baptist men's college. It was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1974 for Talladega College's role as one of the few historically black colleges and universities to maintain a liberal arts focus. It was the only liberal arts college open to black Americans in Alabama for many years.

Fort Leslie (also known as Fort Lashley or Fort Talladega) was a stockade fort built in present-day Talladega County, Alabama, in 1813 during the Creek War. After the Creek War began, protective stockades were built by settlers and Creeks who were allied with the United States to protect themselves from hostile Creek attacks. Fort Leslie was the focal point of the Battle of Talladega but was soon abandoned after the end of the Creek War.

The Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind (AIDB) is the world’s most comprehensive education, rehabilitation and service program serving individuals of all ages who are deaf, blind, deafblind and multidisabled. It is operated by the U.S. state of Alabama in the city of Talladega. The current institution includes the Alabama School for the Deaf, the Alabama School for the Blind, and the Helen Keller School of Alabama, named for Alabamian Helen Keller, which serves children who are both deaf and blind. E. H. Gentry Facility provides vocational training for adult students, and the institution offers employment through its Alabama Industries for the Blind facilities in Talladega and Birmingham. AIDB has regional centers in Birmingham, Decatur, Dothan, Huntsville, Mobile, Montgomery, Opelika, Shoals, Talladega, and Tuscaloosa. AIDB currently serves over 36,000 residents from all 67 counties of the state.

Bemiston is an unincorporated community and former company town in Talladega County, Alabama, United States. Bemiston now lies within the city limits of Talladega.

The Federal Correctional Institution (FCI Talladega) is a medium-security United States federal prison for male inmates in Alabama. It is operated by the Federal Bureau of Prisons, a division of the United States Department of Justice. The facility also includes an adjacent minimum-security satellite camp that also houses male offenders. FCI Talladega is located approximately 50 miles from Birmingham, Alabama and 100 miles from Atlanta, Georgia.

The J. L. M. Curry House is a historic house and farm property near Talladega, Alabama. It was home Jabez Lamar Monroe Curry (1825–1903), a lawyer, politician, and educator who "did more than any one other man to encourage the expansion and improvement of the public school system and the establishment of training schools for teachers throughout the south. He was also largely responsible for convincing Southern legislators of the states' responsibility for public education." The house and surrounding farm was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1965.

Thornhill, also known as the Hade–Lewis House, is a plantation in Talladega County, Alabama, built beginning in 1835 by planter John Hardie. Hardie was an immigrant from Scotland, arriving in the Alabama Territory in 1818 after first spending time in New York and Virginia. He acquired the 700 acres (280 ha) of land for Thornhill in 1834 or 1835. The topology of the land reminded Hardie of his father's Thorn Hill Farm in Kinross, Scotland, so he named the property Thornhill. Cotton was the primary crop grown at Thornhill with about 50 enslaved people being held at the plantation by Hardie.The property includes the Classical Revival house, a chapel, the servants' quarters, the plantation office, a barn, a horse racetrack and the family cemetery, along with the approach road. The main house is an I-house in plan, one room deep in front, two stories, with a rear ell. The facade is five bays wide and fronted by a central portico. The interior has a central hall plan, flanked by a parlor, a dining room and a library in the ell. A kitchen occupies the farther reaches of the ell.Thornhill was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on February 20, 1998.
