Benton Township is one of thirteen townships in Fremont County, Iowa, United States. As of the 2010 census, its population was 254 and it contained 122 housing units.

The Nebraska Center for the Education of Children Who Are Blind or Visually Impaired (NCECBVI) is located in Nebraska City, Nebraska, United States. It was founded in 1875 and serves children from infancy to adults age 21. NCECBVI's program offers the expertise and specialized skills of the center's staff to blind, visually impaired, and other disabled students in residential, day, and outreach settings. Services are provided to local school districts, students, families, teachers, and other support staff, upon request. It was previously the Nebraska School for the Visually Handicapped (NSVH). The center offers residential services. Services are also offered to provide intense training in specific skills related to the blind or visually impaired such as Braille, technology, orientation and mobility, and daily living skills. The duration of this service varies due to the needs of the student, family and local education agency. Lourdes Central Catholic School is a private, Roman Catholic pre-kindergarten through 12th Grade school in Nebraska City, Nebraska. It is located in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Lincoln and is the consolidated school of nine Catholic parishes in Nebraska City, Paul, Julian, Syracuse, Peru, Auburn, Avoca, and Plattsmouth.

The Nebraska City Bridge is a four-lane girder bridge over the Missouri River connecting Otoe County, Nebraska with Fremont County, Iowa at Nebraska City, Nebraska. The bridge built in 1986 bypasses the central business district and replaced the Waubonsie Bridge truss bridge which opened in 1930 and went towards the middle of town. The Waubonsie Bridge built by the Kansas City Bridge Company called itself "The Bridge with a State park at Each End" because Arbor Lodge State Park was on the Nebraska side and Waubonsie State Park was on the Iowa side. The Waubonsie Bridge replaced a pontoon bridge built in 1888 that claimed to be the largest drawbridge of its kind in the world. The pontoon bridge was more than 2,000 feet (610 m) long and the middle of the bridge could swing open providing a 528-foot (161 m)-wide passage. Local usage refers to the new bridge just as "the Missouri River Bridge." The bridge was constructed as part of a highway plan to provide four-lane access between Lincoln, Nebraska and Interstate 29 in Iowa. The bridge connects Nebraska Highway 2 with Iowa Highway 2. The bridge was closed to all traffic in April 2019 as a result of the 2019 Midwestern U.S. floods. The bridge reopened with one lane of travel in each direction on August 1, 2019.

St. Mary's Catholic Church is a parish of the Catholic Church in Nebraska City, Nebraska, part of the Diocese of Lincoln. It is the mother church of Lourdes Central Catholic Schools in Nebraska City. Its parish church is located at 218 North 6th Street in Nebraska City. The parish was established in 1869 to serve the English-speaking faithful as the older parish in Nebraska City, St. Benedict's, only offered services in German. Fr. John McGoldrich was appointed its first pastor immediately after his ordination in 1870. In the 1880s, the parish purchased a brick church at the corner of Sixth and Laramie Streets at auction, which was remodeled and renovated for its own use. The parish was staffed by the Precious Blood Fathers from 1910 to 1983. During this time, the current Romanesque church and rectory were built at the corner of First Avenue and Sixth Street, dedicated by Bishop Kucera on July 12, 1942.

The First United Methodist Church of Nebraska City, Nebraska was organized in 1854. Previously, Reverend W. D. Gage had Methodist services in the area. The church's main hall is named after Rev. Gage. The land was bought in 1855 and the one-room church was built the same year. Since then, several expansions have made the church larger with several conference rooms, Gage Hall, and the main sanctuary. The building is currently the oldest Methodist church in the state of Nebraska.

St. Benedict's Catholic Church is a Catholic church in Nebraska City, Nebraska, United States. It is on the National Register of Historic Places. The church parish was founded in 1856 and its building, completed in 1861, is the oldest brick church in the state of Nebraska. The church's address is 411 5th Rue, Nebraska City, Nebraska. It is a brick "vernacular Romanesque structure featuring buttresses and entry tower". Its exterior walls were noticed to be spreading in 1948, and it was feared the roof would collapse. "The walls were dismantled, reinforced and then rebuilt using primarily original brick."

The U.S. Post Office is a historic building in Nebraska City, Nebraska. It was built by Harry Wales in 1888, and designed in the Romanesque Revival style by M.E. Bell. By the 1970s, it was "the oldest Post Office in continuous use in Nebraska." It was intended to serve as a U.S. Court House and Post Office, but there is no record of it ever having served as a courthouse. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since September 3, 1971.

The Grand Army of the Republic Memorial Hall, also known as William Baumer Post No. 24, Grand Army of the Republic (GAR), and the Civil War Veterans Museum, is a historic building located at 908 (now 910) 1st Corso in Nebraska City, Nebraska, in the United States. The hall was built in 1894–95. In 1994, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.

The Otoe County Courthouse is home to the county seat of Otoe County, Nebraska in Nebraska City, Nebraska. The building contains both the Nebraska City Court and the Otoe County Court along with the government and law enforcement offices of both. The building sits at 1021 Central Avenue in Nebraska City. The courthouse is currently on the National Register of Historic Places and the oldest public building in the state of Nebraska.

The Morton-James Public Library is a library in the city of Nebraska City, in the southeastern part of the state of Nebraska, in the Midwestern United States. The building, located at 923 1st Corso, has been described as "a modest, yet fine example of the Richardsonian Romanesque style of architecture in Nebraska". In 1976, it was listed in the National Register of Historic Places.

Nebraska City is a city in Nebraska and the county seat of Otoe County, Nebraska, United States. As of the 2020 census, the city population was 7,222. The Nebraska State Legislature has credited Nebraska City as being the oldest incorporated city in the state, as it was the first approved by a special act of the Nebraska Territorial Legislature in 1855. Nebraska City is home of Arbor Day, the Missouri River Basin Lewis and Clark Center (which focuses on the natural history achievements of the expedition), and the Mayhew Cabin, the only site in the state recognized by the National Park Service as a station on the Underground Railroad.
