The New Economic School – Georgia (NESG) (in Georgian: ახალი ეკონომიკური სკოლა საქართველო) is a free market think-tank, non-profit organisation, NGO based in Tbilisi, Georgia. Its main mission is education of young people in free market ideas. It organizes seminars, workshops and conferences for education and exchanges of ideas. NESG was founded by Georgian individuals to fill the gap of the market economy knowledge in the country and the deficit of good teachers and economics textbooks. According to the 2014 Global Go To Think Tank Index Report (Think Tanks and Civil Societies Program, University of Pennsylvania), NESG is number 22 (of 45) "Top Think Tanks in Central Asia".The name New Economic School means different vision, school of thought. NESG is not an academic institution but rather a voluntary cooperation of individuals to find more ideas about Human Action. NESG was established as an alternative to Marxian school which was very influential having an absolute monopoly in the academic circles and universities in Georgia.

Pikris Gora (Georgian: ფიქრის გორა) is small, triangular shaped neighborhood in the Vera District of central portion of the Georgian city of Tbilisi. The neighborhood is bordered on the north by Merab Kostava Street, on the south by Petre Melikishvili Street, and on the west by Varaziskhevi Street. Pikris Gora literally translates to "hill of thoughts".

The Vere (Georgian: ვერე) is a river in eastern Georgia, originating in the eastern slopes of the Trialeti Range, near Mount Didgori, and flowing into the Mtkvari (Kura) as its right tributary in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia. The Vere river valley from Tbilisi to the townlet of Manglisi is populated by a continuous chain of settlements such as Bagebi, Akhaldaba, Tskneti, Betania and Tsveri. A portion of the Vere river in Tbilisi flows in a set of corrugated steel tunnels under the Varaziskhevi–Tamarashvili Street motorway constructed from 2009 to 2010.The Vere river has the length of 45 km (28 mi) and the basin area of 194 km2 (75 sq mi). The river is fed by snow melt, rain, and underground waters. It is characterized by periodic flash floods such as one in June 2015 which inflicted severe damage on the city's infrastructure, including its zoo and resulted in at least 20 fatal casualties. The Vere, as explained by the early 18th-century Georgian scholar Prince Vakhushti, was formerly known as the Skvireti or Skoreti (სკვირეთი, სკორეთი). This hydronym appears in the medieval Georgian Chronicles. The Vere river valley is home to several cultural landmarks; the 12th-century Betania Monastery is located near the sources of the river, while the Lurji Monastery, Tbilisi Zoo, and the children's recreational park Mziuri, are close to the mouth, on the territory of Tbilisi.

The San Diego State University (SDSU) Georgia, known as SDSU Georgia, is a representation of San Diego State University (SDSU) in Tbilisi, Georgia (country) offering internationally accredited Bachelor of Science programs in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) in the Republic of Georgia. These programs enable Georgian students to receive a high-quality STEM education and earn an American academic degree. Founded in 2014, SDSU-Georgia is funded through a compact signed between the United States of America's Millennium Challenge Corporation and the Government of Georgia.

Heroes Square (Georgian: გმირთა მოედანი, romanized: gmirta moedani), in Tbilisi, Georgia, is a monument built to honor the memory of lost heroes of Georgia in the war against the Soviet Army and in operations in Abkhazia. Each day, two soldiers arrive in the morning at the sides of the Square, where a memorial stone is located, and, after paying tribute, stand at attention as a sign of respect.The monument is located near the Tbilisi Zoo. It is 51 m high, with 16 marble faces, and is written in Georgian. The names of more than 4,000 Georgian victims were carved into the memorial in August 2008; they include the names of Georgian military students who died in the fight against the Red Army in 1921, those of the leaders of the anti-Soviet counterinsurgency in 1924, and those of the dead in the 5-day Abkhaz war in 1992 and 1993.

Rustaveli (Georgian: რუსთაველი) is a station of the Tbilisi Metro on the Akhmeteli–Varketili Line. It is located at Rustaveli square at the northern end of Rustaveli Avenue. The station was opened on 11 January 1966 as part of the first metro line with six stations from Didube to Rustaveli. Located between Tavisuplebis Moedani station and Marjanishvili station, Rustaveli is 60 metres underground (and an escalator length of 120 meters) the deepest station of the Tbilisi metro system.

The 1984 Tbilisi gas explosion was a gas explosion in a nine-storey apartment block in Tbilisi, Georgia on 2 December 1984 that killed at least 100 people.

The Georgian National Academy of Sciences (GNAS) (Georgian: საქართველოს მეცნიერებათა ეროვნული აკადემია, romanized: sakartvelos metsnierebata erovnuli ak'ademia) is a main learned society of the Georgia. It was named Georgian SSR Academy of Sciences until November 1990. The Academy coordinates scientific research in Georgia and develops relationship with the academies and scientific centers of foreign countries.

First Republic Square (Georgian: პირველი რესპუბლიკის მოედანი) former Rose Revolution Square (Georgian: ვარდების რევოლუციის მოედანი) is a square in the Vera district of Tbilisi at the western end of Rustaveli Ave.

Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (Georgian: ივანე ჯავახიშვილის სახელობის თბილისის სახელმწიფო უნივერსიტეტი Ivane Javaxishvilis saxelobis Tbilisis saxelmts'ipo universit'et'i, often shortened to its historical name, Tbilisi State University or TSU) is a public research university established on 8 February 1918 in Tbilisi, Georgia. Excluding academies and theological seminaries, which have intermittently functioned in Georgia for centuries, TSU is the oldest university in Georgia and the Caucasus region. Over 23 500 students are enrolled and the total number of faculty and staff (collaborators) is 5,000. According to the U.S. News & World Report university rankings, TSU is ranked 398th in the world, tied with the University of Warsaw.The university has five branches in the regions of Georgia, six faculties, 60 scientific-research laboratories and centers, a scientific library (with 3,700,000 books and periodicals), seven museums, publishing house and printing press (newspaper Tbilisis Universiteti).The main founder of the university was a Georgian historian and academician, Ivane Javakhishvili. Among the co-founders were also several scientists, including Giorgi Akhvlediani, Shalva Nutsubidze, Dimitri Uznadze, Grigol Tsereteli, Akaki Shanidze, Andrea Razmadze, Korneli Kekelidze, Ioseb Kipshidze, Petre Melikishvili and Ekvtime Takaishvili. Professor Petre Melikishvili, a Georgian chemist, became the first rector of TSU. The Rector of TSU since September 2016 has been Giorgi Sharvashidze. TSU has six faculties: Law, Economics and Business, Humanities, Medicine, Social and Political Sciences, Exact and Natural Sciences, and the International School of Economics at Tbilisi State University as an autonomous graduate school of economics.

The National Scientific Library (Georgian: ეროვნული სამეცნიერო ბიბლიოთეკა) is a library in Tbilisi, Georgia. National Scientific Library is a biggest library in Georgia. Established in 1941, it initially served only the employees of the Georgian National Academy of Sciences. Presently library has three buildings: founded in 1941 former Central Library of Georgian Academy of Sciences, founded in 1965 Science and Technology Library and founded in 1961 Library-Museum of Ioseb Grishashvili.

The death of Arina Glazunova occurred on the night of September 27, 2024 in Tbilisi, Georgia. Glazunova was a 24-year-old Russian influencer who died after falling into an underground subway passage while taking a selfie video. The accident received wide attention online and sparked conversations about infrastructure safety in Tbilisi.
