Kilgarvan

Kilgarvan is a Gaelic Athletic Association club in Kilgarvan, County Kerry, Ireland. They play in the Intermediate Hurling Championship and Division 2 county league. Kilgarvan play football in Division 5 of the county league and in the Kenmare District Board championship and County Novice Championship.

The Battle of Callann was fought in August 1261 between the Hiberno-Normans, under John FitzGerald, and three Gaelic clans: MacCarthy, who held the Kingdom of Desmond, under Fínghin Mac Carthaigh, King of Desmond, ancestor of the MacCarthy Reagh dynasty. It took place in the townland of Callann or Collon near modern-day Kilgarvan, County Kerry. MacCarthaigh was victorious.

The Shehy Mountains (Cnoic na Seithe in Irish, meaning "Hills of the animal hides") are a range of low mountains situated on the border between County Cork and County Kerry, in Ireland.

Mangerton or Mangerton Mountain (Irish: An Mhangarta, meaning 'the long-haired (mountain)'), at 838 metres (2,749 ft), is the 19th-highest peak in Ireland on the Arderin list, and the 26th–highest mountain according to the Vandeleur-Lynam list. Mangerton is the tallest mountain in the Mangerton Mountain Group, also called the Mangerton Mountains or the Mountains of East Kerry, a range that includes five other major mountains that have a height above 2,000 feet (610 m). Mangerton's western slopes lie within the Killarney National Park. On Mangerton's north-western face lies a deep corrie lake called the Devil's Punchbowl, which is a popular scenic destination for hill walkers; although the mountain is often overlooked by walkers due to the proximity of its more scenic and accessible neighbour, Torc Mountain. The far northern slopes of Mangerton was the site of an important 13th-century battle between the Mac Cárthaigh (Gaelic forces), and the FitzGeralds (Norman forces), known as the "Tooreencormick battle site".

Lough Guitane (Irish: Loch Coiteáin) is a freshwater lake in the southwest of Ireland. It is located in County Kerry near the town of Killarney.

Bonane Heritage Park is a private archaeological preserve and tourist attraction between Bonane and Kenmare in County Kerry, Ireland. The area is surrounded by the Sheehy and Caha Mountains. It is home to a number of archaeological remains, including ring fort and stone circle sites. Some studies have indicated that some of these archaeological remains "may well have had an astronomical significance".

Priest's Leap (Gaelic Léim an tSagairt) is a steep and nearly straight single-lane mountain pass between Coomhola Bridge and the village of Bonane east of the more winding road from Bantry to Kenmare in Ireland. Just below the summit of the 519 m high mountain with the same name, it is the highest pass road in Munster at 463m, crossing from County Cork to County Kerry.

Torc Waterfall (from Irish: Easach Toirc, meaning 'cascade of the wild boar') is a 20 metres (66 ft) high, 110 metres (360 ft) long cascade waterfall formed by the Owengarriff River as it drains from the Devil's Punchbowl corrie lake at Mangerton Mountain. The waterfall, which lies at the base of Torc Mountain, in the Killarney National Park, is 4.3 miles (7 kilometres) from Killarney in County Kerry, Ireland. The waterfall is a popular site on the Ring of Kerry and the Kerry Way tours.

Torc Mountain (Irish: Sliabh Torc, meaning 'mountain of wild boar'), at 535 metres (1,755 ft), is the 329th–highest peak in Ireland on the Arderin list. It is a popular mountain for hill walkers as it has a stone or boarded path (using railway sleepers) from its base at Torc Waterfall to its summit, which has views of the Lakes of Killarney. Torc Mountain is part of the Mangerton Mountain Group range in County Kerry, Ireland.

La Cascade was the previous restaurant of Sheen Falls Lodge, a hotel outside the town of Kenmare, County Kerry, Ireland. It is a fine-dining restaurant that was awarded one Michelin star each year in the period 1993 to 1998.During the period the restaurant was awarded the Michelin star, the head chef was Fergus Moore.The restaurant changed name to The Falls in 2018 when it and the hotel changed ownership.

Muckross House (Irish: Teach Mhucrois) is located on the small Muckross Peninsula between Muckross Lake and Lough Leane, two of the lakes of Killarney, 6 kilometres (3.7 mi) from the town of Killarney in County Kerry, Ireland. In 1932 it was presented by William Bowers Bourn and Arthur Rose Vincent to the Irish nation. It thus became the first National Park in the Irish Free State (now Republic of Ireland) and formed the basis of the present day Killarney National Park.

Glenflesk (Irish: Gleann Fleisce) is a small village in County Kerry, Ireland. It is located on the N22 national primary route between Cork and Killarney.The local Roman Catholic church is dedicated to Saint Agatha and was built c. 1860. Glenflesk is in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Kerry. Glenflesk National School is a co-educational primary (national) school which had 34 pupils enrolled as of the 2020 school year. The local Gaelic Athletic Association club, Glenflesk GAA, fields Gaelic football teams in the East Kerry Division.
