Reykjavík International School (RIS) was a small private international school for students from Year 1 to Year 11 in Reykjavík, Iceland. The primary language of instruction was English. Students studied Icelandic as well, whether as beginners or native speakers with good comprehension of the language. It accepted children from five to sixteen years old from all nationalities throughout the world.The school ran for three years, from 2014–2017. It had 23 students in 2014 and 7 students in 2015.A short lived school by the same name existed in 2004.

Olgerdin (Icelandic: Ölgerðin Egill Skallagrímsson) is an Icelandic brewery and beverage company based in Reykjavík. Established on 17 April 1913, the oldest beer-producing factory in Iceland. Annually, it produces 45 million liters of beverages. The brewery is named for Egill Skallagrímsson, an early inhabitant of Iceland and main character of Egil's Saga.

Fjölnisvöllur (Icelandic pronunciation: ​[ˈfjœlnɪsˌvœtlʏr̥]) is a football stadium in Iceland. It is located in Grafarvogur, Reykjavík, and seats 700 individuals in one stand, but can hold about 500 standing spectators additionally. It is the home stadium for Icelandic football team Fjölnir.

Árbæjarsafn (Icelandic pronunciation: ​[ˈaurˌpaiːjarˌsapn̥]) is the historical museum of the city of Reykjavík as well as an open-air museum and a regional museum. Grafarvogur (Icelandic pronunciation: ​[ˈkraːvarˌvɔːɣʏr̥]) is among the largest residential districts of Reykjavík, Iceland. It is a relatively new neighbourhood, major construction began in the late 1980s and continued well into the 1990s.

Árbær (Icelandic pronunciation: ​[ˈaurˌpaiːr̥]) is a district within the city of Reykjavík, Iceland. It includes five neighbourhoods: Árbær proper, Ártúnsholt [ˈaurˌtʰunsˌhɔl̥t], Norðlingaholt [ˈnɔ(r)tliŋkaˌhɔlt̥], Selás [ˈsɛːlˌauːs] and the industrial area Hálsar [ˈhaulsar̥]. The area has approximately 13,000 inhabitants. It is located in the eastern part of the city. At the heart of Árbær are the Elliðaár river and valley.

Kleppur or Kleppsspítali is an Icelandic psychiatric hospital that is operated by The National University Hospital of Iceland. The first laws concerning Kleppur were nr. 33/1905, accepted by Christian IX on 20 October and the institution was opened in 1907, originally housing 50 patients. Kleppur was the first medical institution that was constructed and ran completely on public funds. The institution's administration consisted of the Icelandic Director of Health and individuals appointed by the Icelandic government. At the time of the hospital's founding, mental illness was a very big issue. Mentally ill individuals were commonly mistreated and their quality of living were nowhere near that of those who were of good mental health. The year 1901, a census was done to count the number of mentally ill individuals in the country. The census found 133 mentally ill individuals, 124 of which lived in rural areas. The hospital changed a lot, although it could not take in everyone that needed is, as the Director of Health at that time told Alþingi. The hospital's methods of operation have changed drastically of the years with the introduction of new and improved therapeutics. Today, Kleppur's operations mainly consist of rehabilitation and various treatments for people with mental health problems, such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, anxiety, depression and addiction. Kleppur now has a polyclinic, three psychiatric rehabilitation wards, a security ward, and a forensic unit.

The river Elliðaár (Icelandic pronunciation: ​[ˈɛtlɪːðaˌauːr̥], "Elliði's river") is situated in the Reykjavík area in the south-west of Iceland. Two small rivers have their source in the volcanic mountain range of Bláfjöll and stream down to Elliðavatn lake at the eastern suburban border of the city, its outlet forming the river. On their way, they pass through the nature reserve area of Heiðmörk. On its way to the sea, which is reached in the Elliðavogur bay in Reykjavík, not far from the open-air folk museum of Árbæjarsafn in Árbær, the river cascades over several small waterfalls, within the boundary of the city. The river is an excellent place to fish salmon.

Fylkisvöllur (Icelandic pronunciation: ​[ˈfɪl̥cɪsˌvœtlʏr̥]) is a multi-use stadium in Reykjavík, Iceland. It is currently used mostly for football matches. The stadium holds roughly 1800 spectators seated. The name for the stadium was changed to Flórídana völlurinn in 2015 and Würth völlurinn in 2019 due to sponsorship reasons

Fjölbrautaskólinn í Breiðholti is an Icelandic gymnasium. Founded in 1975, the school currently has a student population of around 2800 people divided between about 1600 students in morning classes, about 500 students in evening classes, and about 700 students in summer school. The school is known for offering multiple educational "paths" which has led to some calling it a rounded collection of schools in the same building. All in all there are 27 paths one can take, including fine arts, cosmetology, nursing, media studies and athletics. The school follows a unit system. While it is possible to graduate specializing in a certain path in one or two years, 140 units are needed to obtain a Matriculation Examination which takes on average about four years. Obtaining a Matriculation Examination is possible from all paths.

Egilshöll (Icelandic pronunciation: ​[ˈeijɪlsˌhœtl̥]), also known as Egilshöllin, is a multi-purpose sports and entertainment facility located in the Grafarvogur district of Iceland's capital Reykjavík. It features three football pitches, an ice rink, school sports hall, gym, shooting range, tennis courts and a cinema.
