Dianalund is a railway town, at the Tølløse railway line, on the west central part of the Danish island of Zealand. It has a population of 4,127 (1 January 2022), making it the second largest town in Sorø Municipality. Dianalund was the municipal seat of the former Dianalund Municipality, until 1 January 2007. Kolonien Filadelfia, the only epilepsy hospital in Denmark, is located in the town.

Until 1 January 2007 Dianalund Municipality was a municipality (Danish, kommune) in West Zealand County on the island of Zealand (Sjælland) in east Denmark. The municipality covered an area of 67 km2, and had a total population of 7,406 (2005). Its last mayor was Per Hovmand, a member of the Conservative People's Party (Det Konservative Folkeparti) political party. The main town and the site of its municipal council was the town of Dianalund. Dianalund Municipality ceased to exist as the result of Kommunalreformen ("The Municipality Reform" of 2007). It was merged with Sorø and Stenlille municipalities to form the new Sorø Municipality. This created a municipality with an area of 317 km² and a total population of 28,336 (2005). The new municipality belongs to Region Sjælland ("Region Zealand").

Tersløsegaard is a manor house located close to Dianalund, Sorø Municipality some 60 kilometres southwest of Copenhagen, Denmark. It was owned by Ludvig Holberg from 1745 to 1756. He left it to Sorø Academy and it has now been converted into a self-owning foundation and contains a Holberg exhibition. The main building is listed. The main building was listed on the Danish registry of protected buildings and places by the Danish Heritage Agency on in 1918.

Until 1 January 2007 Stenlille municipality was a municipality (Danish, kommune) in the former West Zealand County on the island of Zealand (Sjælland) in east Denmark. The municipality covered an area of 94 km², and had a total population of 5,544 (2005). Its last mayor was Vagn Guldborg, a member of the Venstre (Liberal Party) political party. The main town and the site of its municipal council was the town of Stenlille. Stenlille municipality ceased to exist as the result of Kommunalreformen ("The Municipality Reform" of 2007). It was merged with existing Sorø and Dianalund municipalities to form the new Sorø municipality. This created a municipality with an area of 317 km² and a total population of 28,336 (2005). The new municipality belongs to Region Sjælland ("Region Zealand").

Naturpark Åmosen is a nature park on west Zealand in Denmark. The nature park comprise c. 8,000 ha of connected wetlands emerging from the lowlying bog of Store Åmose in the east near the town of Hvalsø, through the lakes of Skarresø and Tissø and ending at the sea in the west, at the Great Belt. Most of the area is designated as Natura 2000 and according to the park service, it is believed to hold great natural beauty, landscapes representing typical Danish countrysides, a rich natural diversity and high cultural historic importance. These points have all been essential in establishing the park and it has been certified as a Nature Park by the Danish Outdoor Council and their authorized labeling schemes for Danish Nature Parks from 2013. An excerpt form the nature parks own website states: "With the nature park, there should be a positive development within all areas: nature, culture, outdoor life, public outreach, business and settling." Most of Naturpark Åmosen is on private hands, as most of the Danish countryside. Establishing the park is thus a freely cooperation between the State, the Municipality, local citizens and private landowners and the involvement of local citizens have been a major priority in the process. The current agency of the nature park is working on establishing a fund. The farmhouse of Fugledegård on the western bank of lake Tissø, is the headquarters and communication center of Naturpark Åmosen. They host exhibitions, several events and guided tours throughout the year.

Sorø Pharmacy (Danish: Sorø Apotek) is located on Storgade in Sorø, Denmark. The current buildings date from the 1840s and were listed on the Danish registry of protected buildings and places in 1949.

Sorø Museum is a local history museum in Sorø, Denmark. It is housed within an old inn from 1624, one of the oldest buildings in the town.

Vænget is a historic building in Sorø, Denmark. It is owned by neighbouring Sorø Academy and contains an exhibition of physical instruments from before 1800 in its ground floor.

Sorø Art Museum is an art museum located in Sorø, Denmark. It displays a representative collection of Danish art as well as a collection of Russian art, covering both painting from 1870 to 1930 and Russian icons, and also hosts special exhibitions both of classical and contemporary art. The museum is housed within a listed Neoclassical house, part of a traditional Danish market town setting along Sorø's main street, which was expanded by the architects Lundgaard & Tranberg in 2011, tripling its size.

Scavenius' Stiftelse is a listed building situated on the west side of the town square in Sorø, Denmark.

The Abbey Gate (Danish: Klosterporten) in Sorø, Denmark, is the original gate of Absalon's Sorø Abbey dating from about 1200. It now affords access to the grounds of Sorø Academy, which include the old abbey church, Denmark's longest church building, and is claimed to be the oldest inhabited house in Denmark.

Sorø Old Cemetery (Danish: Sorø Gamle Kirkegård), owned by Sorø Academy, is one of the oldest cemeteries still in use in Denmark.
