Frunzyenskaya (Minsk Metro)

Jubiliejnaja plošča (Belarusian: Юбілейная плошча; Russian: Юбилейная площадь) is a Minsk Metro station. It is located on Jubiliejnaja plošča at the intersection of Suchaja and Kaĺvaryjskaja streets. The station was opened on November 6, 2020. It is a transfer station to the Frunzyenskaya station on the Awtazavodskaya line. The station is the deepest in the Minsk metro - its depth is 32 meters.

The Pit (Belarusian: Яма) is a monument dedicated to the victims of the Holocaust on the corner of Melnikayte and Zaslavskaya streets in Minsk, Belarus. The memorial is located at the site where on 2 March 1942 Nazi forces shot about 5,000 Jewish residents of the nearby Minsk Ghetto. The obelisk was created in 1947, and in 2000 a bronze sculpture titled "The Last Way" was added. It represents a group of victims descending the steps of the pit. The sculpture was created by the Belarusian artist and Chairman of the Jewish communities of Belarus, Leonid Levin, and the sculptor Elsa Pollak from Israel. On the obelisk is written in Russian and Yiddish, "To the shining memory of the bright days of five thousand Jews who perished at the hands of sworn enemies of humanity, German-fascist butchers, on 2 March 1942." When the reconstruction of the memorial was undertaken, no machinery was used and all the work was done by hand, a process which took eight years to complete. According to the original plan, the memorial supposed to be more detailed, but it was ultimately left with an expressive aestheticism and devoid of national colours. It includes figures of a violinist, children, and a pregnant woman, allowing for representation of collective character. The memorial has been a target of vandalism. Funeral assemblies are held at the memorial every year on 2 March.

The Minsk Ghetto was created soon after the German invasion of the Soviet Union. It was one of the largest in Belorussian SSR, and the largest in the German-occupied territory of the Soviet Union. It housed close to 100,000 Jews, most of whom were murdered in The Holocaust.

The Republican Institute for Vocational Education (or RIPO, Russian: Республиканский институт профессионального образования) is a higher education institution in Minsk, Belarus. Founded in December 1992, it is managed by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus.

Plošča Franciška Bahuševiča (Belarusian: Плошча Францішка Багушэвіча; Russian: Площадь Франтишка Богушевича) is a Minsk Metro station. It is located on the square of the same name. The station was opened on November 6, 2020.

The 2008 Minsk bombing took place just after midnight on 4 July 2008, in Minsk, Belarus and wounded 54 people. The explosion happened near the Hero City monument at a concert to celebrate Belarus' independence. The concert had been attended by Belarus' President, Alexander Lukashenko, who was not hurt and whose officials said was not the target.A second, larger bomb was discovered before the blast.No clear motive for the blast has been revealed. However, Belarusian authorities detained four members of the White Legion, a nationalist group, in the days following the attack. The probable perpetrators of the explosion were detained during the investigation of the 2011 Minsk Metro bombing.

The Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Belarus (Belarusian: Міністэрства фінансаў Рэспублікі Беларусь, romanized: Ministerstva finansaŭ Respubliki Bielaruś; Russian: Министерство финансов Республики Беларусь) is the Belarusian government ministry which coordinates state financial policy and oversees the regulation of securities in Belarus. The current Minister of Finance is Yuri Seliverstov.

The Minsk Detention Center No. 1 or SIZO No. 1 (Russian: СИЗО №1, Belarusian: СІЗА №1), informally known as Volodarka, Belarusian pronunciation: Valadarka (Валадарка), is the central prison of the Republic of Belarus located in Minsk.

The House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus (Belarusian: Палата прадстаўнікоў Нацыянальнага сходу Рэспублікі Беларусь; Russian: Палата представителей Национального собрания Республики Беларусь) is the lower house of the parliament of Belarus, while the upper house is the Council of the Republic. It was established after the Constitution of Belarus was amended in 1996, replacing the Supreme Council of Belarus.It consists of 110 deputies elected to four year terms on the basis of direct electoral suffrage by secret ballot (art. 91). It is a majoritarian system, with the outcome decided by overall majorities in single-member constituencies. Any citizen of 21 years is eligible for election (art. 92). The functions of the House are to consider draft laws and the other business of government; it must approve the nomination of a prime minister (art. 97); and it may deliver a vote of no confidence on the government (art. 97).

The Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus (Belarusian: Савет Рэспублікі Нацыянальнага сходу Рэспублікі Беларусь; Russian: Совет Республики Национального собрания Республики Беларусь) is the upper house of the parliament of Belarus. The Council consists of 64 members, and the representation is based geographically, with most of the elected members come from civil society organizations, labour collectives and public associations in their jurisdiction. Each oblast (six) and the city of Minsk (the national capital) are represented by eight members, and an additional eight members are appointed to the council via presidential quota. It was established after the Constitution of Belarus was amended in 1996 following a referendum, replacing the Supreme Council of Belarus.

The Government House or House of Government (Belarusian: Дом урада, Russian: Дом правительства) is a government building in Minsk located on Independence Square. It houses the National Assembly of Belarus and its two chambers: the Council of the Republic and the House of Representatives (located in the right wing). The National Assembly is one of the highest organs of national power and symbolism in the country. It was built in 1934 and designed by Iosif Langbard. It stands behind a statue of Vladimir Lenin and is one of the few buildings that survived the Great Patriotic War.

The National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus (Belarusian: Нацыянальны сход Рэспублікі Беларусь, romanized: Nacyjanalny schod Respubliki Bielaruś; Russian: Национальное собрание Республики Беларусь, romanized: Natsionalnoye sobran'ye Respubliki Belarus') is the bicameral parliament of Belarus. The two chambers of the National Assembly are: the Council of the Republic – the upper house the House of Representatives – the lower house.While each chamber has specific duties, both chambers have the ability to veto the decrees of local administrations that deviate from the Constitution of Belarus. The chambers of the National Assembly are convened to two regular sessions every year: the first session opens 2 October and its duration cannot be more than 80 days; the second session opens 2 April and does not last more than 90 days. The House of Representatives and the Council of the Republic may be convened to an extraordinary session. Extraordinary sessions are convened under a particular agenda upon an initiative of the President or upon a request of at least two-thirds majority of the full membership of each of the chambers.Any bill must be initially considered in the House of Representatives and then in the Council of the Republic. In practice, the National Assembly has no real power. The Belarusian political system concentrates all governing power in the hands of President Alexander Lukashenko. Notably, the National Assembly has no control over government spending; according to the Constitution, any bill that increases or decreases spending can only be considered with presidential permission. Presidential decrees have greater weight than ordinary legislation. However, since it took its current form in 1996, the National Assembly has been dominated by Lukashenko's supporters in any event, and there is no substantive opposition to presidential decisions.Its predecessor was the Supreme Council of Belarus (until 1996).
