Philipsburgh Building

St. John's Protestant Episcopal Church is a historic Episcopal church at One Hudson Street in the Getty Square neighborhood of Yonkers, Westchester County, New York. The complex includes the church, chapel, rectory, parish house, and school. The church was originally constructed in 1752, with an addition in 1849, and modifications to the front facade in 1874 by architect Edward Tuckerman Potter (1831–1904). It is constructed of rough gray fieldstone with red brick on the corners. It is cruciform in plan, three bays wide, with a slate-covered gable roof. The front facade features a rose window and four battered buttresses. The parish house and chapel were constructed in 1890–1891 and are connected to the church. The 2+1⁄2-story, five-bay-wide rectory was also constructed in 1890–1891 and is connected to the chapel. The additions made during 1890–1891 were by architect Robert Henderson Robertson (1849–1919). A group of women from the church founded St. John's Riverside Hospital in 1869 to care for the poor of the parish.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

Proctor's Theater, also known as Proctor's Palace and RKO Proctor's, is a historic movie theater located at Yonkers, Westchester County, New York. It was built 1914-1916 and operated initially as a vaudeville house. William E. Lehman was the theater's architect. It became part of the RKO Pictures circuit in 1929 and closed as a movie theater in 1973. It was subsequently converted to retail and office use.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2008.

Getty Square is the name for downtown Yonkers, New York, centered on the public square. Getty Square is the civic center, central business district, and transit hub of the City of Yonkers. A dense and growing residential area, it is located in southern Westchester County, New York. The square is named after prominent 19th-century merchant Robert Getty.

Philipse Manor Hall State Historic Site is a historic house museum located in the Getty Square neighborhood of Yonkers, New York. Originally the family seat of Philipse Manor, it is Westchester County's second oldest standing building after the Timothy Knapp House. Located near the Hudson River at Warburton Avenue and Dock Street, it is owned and operated by the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation.

The Church of the Immaculate Conception, commonly known as Immaculate Conception St. Mary's Church, or simply St. Mary's Church, is a Catholic parish and church located in Yonkers, New York. It is the oldest Catholic parish in Yonkers.

The U.S. Post Office for Yonkers, New York, is located on Main Street downtown, opposite the city's train station. It is a two-story stone building erected in the late 1920s. It is located in the 10702 ZIP Code, but serves the entire city, which has other ZIP codes between 10701 and 10710. In 1989 it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places, along with many other historic post offices in the state.Secretary of the Treasury William Gibbs McAdoo personally chose the site. The building is one of many of those designed by the Treasury Department's Office of the Supervising Architect under James A. Wetmore. Since it was located in a growing city, it is larger than most other post offices built around the same time. In its Classical Revival design hints of the emerging Art Deco style can be seen. It remains largely intact today.

The Yonkers Public Library in Yonkers, New York, consists of three branch libraries. The main branch is the 'Yonkers Riverfront Library' which overlooks the Hudson River and New Jersey Palisades. Yonkers Riverfront Library is located in one of the former Otis Elevator buildings and it is across the street from the Yonkers train station. The new main library was opened in 2002, contains an area of 200,000 square feet (19,000 m2) and 4 stories.The library also consists of the Grinton I. Will branch and the Crestwood branch. All three libraries offer a variety of services, including computer and internet access, movie, audio book and CD check-outs, as well as traditional book loans. The library offers free computer classes, from beginner to advanced, and is a source of free public programming all year round, including concerts and movies, classes, homework help, research help and informational workshops. The Yonkers Public Library is a founding member and the largest member of the Westchester Library System (WLS), a consortium of 38 libraries serving the residents of Westchester County. The Yonkers Public Library operates with a budget of over $9 million, 105 staff members, and a collection of nearly 700,000 books and other materials. The Director of the Library is Jesse Montero and the President of the board of trustees is Nancy Maron.

The former Yonkers Trolley Barn is located on Main Street in Yonkers, New York, United States. It is a massive steel frame brick building in the Renaissance Revival style built at the beginning of the 20th century. In 2002 it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places as the last remaining trolley barn in Westchester County and the only remnant of Yonkers' trolley system.After a half-century of use in the city's trolley network with its hub in Getty Square (downtown Yonkers), it was taken out of service. For another two decades it served as a city government office building. It was then vacant for almost 30 years, until a developer converted it into loft apartments, gutting the interior in the process. After the partners in that effort were unable to complete the building due to the lawsuits they filed against each other, another developer bought it and finished the project. Today it is home to many tenants. A chase scene in the film Catch Me If You Can was filmed on the sidewalks around it. In 2014, a local brewery announced that it would be moving into the Trolley Barn.

Bell Place–Locust Avenue Historic District is a national historic district located at Yonkers, Westchester County, New York. It includes 11 contributing buildings. They are residential structures and outbuildings representative of the High Victorian, Italian Villa, and Second Empire styles. They were built between 1855 and 1887 and consists of medium-sized, single family residences, between two and three stories in height. Some have extant carriage houses on their properties.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

The First Lady of Jazz is a statue of Ella Fitzgerald situated outside the Yonkers Metro-North station in the city of Yonkers in Westchester County, New York, United States. It was unveiled in October 1996; Fitzgerald had died in June 1996 at the age of 79.The statue is cast in bronze and stands on a two tier granite pedestal. It is 5 feet 10 in height. The statue is life size and depicts Fitzgerald singing with open arms and "snapping fingers" wearing a dress and heels. It is situated on Trolley Barn Plaza at the corner of Buena Vista Avenue and Main Street in Yonkers.It was sculpted by Vinnie Bagwell. It was Bagwell's first commissioned piece of public art, and became her ninth completed sculpture. The work was commissioned by the Bureau of Community Development and the Office of Downtown and Waterfront Development of Yonkers and was funded by a Federal grant of $25,000.Fitzgerald grew up in Yonkers and attended Public School 18 and Benjamin Franklin Junior High School. Her family lived on School Street and Park Hill Avenue.The statue is part of Westchester County's African-American Heritage Trail.

Yonkers station is a Metro-North Railroad and Amtrak railroad station located in Yonkers, New York. It serves Metro-North commuter trains on the Hudson Line. It is one of four express stations on the line south of Croton–Harmon, but most Metro North express trains do not stop here. It is 14.4 miles (23.2 km) from Grand Central Terminal in Manhattan and travel time to Grand Central is about 33 minutes. It is the only intercity rail station in the southwestern portion of Westchester County, connecting the region to Albany and points beyond. The station is two blocks west of the center of Getty Square in downtown Yonkers (where additional Bee-Line Bus System connections can be made), across the street from the historic Yonkers Post Office. It is also near the former Yonkers Trolley Barn. As of August 2006, daily commuter ridership was 922. Four outdoor bicycle parking racks sit across Buena Vista Avenue from the station at the edge of Van Der Donck Park.
