St. Ann's Warehouse is a performing arts institution in Brooklyn, New York City. Formerly the Church of St. Ann and the Holy Trinity on Montague Street, in 1980 the site was converted into a venue for classical music. Initially known as Arts at St. Ann's, proceeds from the stage's performances were used to aid in renovating the building.In 2000 it relocated to a former spice milling factory in Dumbo, Brooklyn, where it has served as a stage for musicians such as David Bowie, Lou Reed, Joe Strummer, Aimee Mann, Nick Cave, Rufus Wainwright and John Cale. Theatrical shows have included the Bertholt Brecht/Kurt Weill musical The Seven Deadly Sins, starring Marianne Faithfull. The current building can accommodate audiences of up to 1500 people.St. Ann's Warehouse moved to the historic Tobacco Warehouse in Brooklyn Bridge Park in 2015.

Front & York is a residential development under construction in the DUMBO neighborhood of Brooklyn. CIM Group and LIVWRK developed the building, and Morris Adjmi Architects designed it.

The York Street station is a station on the IND Sixth Avenue Line of the New York City Subway. It is served by the F train at all times and the train during rush hours in the peak direction. It is located at York Street and Jay Street in Dumbo and is the only Sixth Avenue Line station in Brooklyn.

Public School 7 is a historic school building located in the DUMBO section of Brooklyn, New York, New York. It was built in 1882 to designs by James W. Naughton. It is a three-story, "I" shaped masonry building faced with pressed brick and trimmed in sandstone. It consists of a three bay center section flanked by a two window-wide wing on either side. Attached to the original building is a rectangular two story brick and stone annex built in 1907.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on November 3, 1983. Today it serves as the home of the AMG School of Licensed Practical Nursing.

The Lunatarium was an art and music space located in a warehouse loft in DUMBO, a neighborhood in Brooklyn, New York City. Managed by DUMBO-based art collective Dumboluna, the Lunatarium was in operation between 2001 and 2004. In its last year of operation it moved from the top floor to the bottom floor of 10 Jay Street. Established in July 2001, Lunatarium quickly gained notoriety due to the unique nature of the space and events that took place. At its peak, events occurred every Friday and Saturday. Dumboluna produced its own events in the Lunatarium, but also collaborated with other promoters. However, to subsidize the high rent, equipment rental, security and other logistical fees, the collective also allowed promoters and event production companies to rent the space for one-off events.

Gleason's is a boxing gym located on the Brooklyn waterfront. The gym was founded by Peter Gagliardi, a former bantamweight, who changed his name to Bobby Gleason. It moved to Manhattan and then to Brooklyn. Gleason's is now owned by Bruce Silverglade. There is a sign on the wall at Gleason's, posting an invitation from the poet Virgil: "Now, whoever has courage, and a strong and collected spirit in his breast, let him come forward, lace on the gloves and put up his hands." (Aeneid 5.363-364) Prizefighters have long answered this call at Gleason's and some still do.There is an illustrated book called At Gleason's Gym. Owner Bruce Silverglade and Gleason's trainer Hector Roca co-authored the book The Gleason's Gym: Total Body Boxing Workout for Women, with a foreword by actor Hilary Swank (she famously thanked Hector Roca when she received her Oscar for her role in the boxing movie "Million Dollar Baby"). There is a book called White Coller Boxing: One Man's Journey from the Office to the Ring, in which John E. Oden describes Gleason's Gym in Chapter 6.In 2015, part of episode 18, season 4, of the television comedy show "Impractical Jokers" took place at the gym. The Season 11 premiere of Ink Master filmed the gym which was used as the location where 22 artists competed to earn a spot on Team Cleen or Team Christian by tattooing a subject in one of the coaches' specialties for six hours.

Dumbo (or DUMBO, short for Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass) is a neighborhood in the New York City borough of Brooklyn. The area known as Dumbo used to be known as Gairville. It encompasses two sections: one located between the Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridges, which connect Brooklyn to Manhattan across the East River, and another that continues east from the Manhattan Bridge to the Vinegar Hill area. The neighborhood is bounded by Brooklyn Bridge Park to the north, the Brooklyn Bridge to the west, Brooklyn Heights to the south and Vinegar Hill to the east. Dumbo is part of Brooklyn Community Board 2. The area was originally a ferry landing, characterized by 19th- and early 20th-century industrial and warehouse buildings, Belgian block streets, and its location on the East River by the imposing anchorage of the Manhattan Bridge. The entirety of Dumbo was bought by developer David Walentas and his company Two Trees Management in the late 20th century, and remade into an upscale residential and commercial community—first becoming a haven for art galleries, and currently a center for technology startups. The large community of tech startups earned Dumbo the nickname of "the center of the Brooklyn Tech Triangle". In that time, Dumbo had become Brooklyn's most expensive neighborhood, as well as New York City's fourth-richest community overall; this is owing in part to its large concentration of technology startups, its close proximity to Manhattan, and its large number of former industrial buildings that have been converted into spacious luxury residential lofts. The neighborhood is the corporate headquarters for e-commerce retailer Etsy and home furnishing stores company West Elm.

Sands Street was a station on the demolished BMT Myrtle Avenue Line. It was a large complex with two levels. The lower level served trains going to Park Row in Manhattan via the Brooklyn Bridge Elevated Line. It had four tracks and two island platforms, with the outer platform faces serving streetcars. The upper level had a terminal and a loop for terminating trains. The Sands Street Terminal had four tracks and three island platforms and a side platform located to the east. This was to the west of the loop tracks and platforms. The Sands Street Loop had platforms on High Street (one island and two side platforms with two tracks) and on Sands Street (also two tracks and one island and two side platforms).The next stop to the south was: Adams Street for trains that used the BMT Myrtle Avenue Line, including the BMT West End Line until 1916, the BMT Lexington Avenue Line, until the close of the station, the BMT Sea Beach Line's predecessor, until 1913, and the BMT Fifth Avenue Line until its closure in 1940 and Court Street for trains using the BMT Fulton Street Line, until 1940, including, until 1920, BMT Brighton Line trains.The next stop and terminal to the north was Park Row for trains serving Manhattan. Trains on the upper level loop terminated at Sands Street. It closed on March 5, 1944.

University of NorthWest, established in 2001 in New York City (University of NorthWest, 45 Main Street, Ste 309, Brooklyn, NY 11201), is a provider of distance education that offers academic degrees in several fields. Additionally, its website states that it offers classes at 'learning centers' in Canada, China, Bangladesh, Ireland, India, Kenya, Lebanon, Malaysia, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Russia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand and the United Kingdom. In the summer of 2010, the Oregon Office of Degree Authorization reported that the University of NorthWest was actively engaged in Afghanistan.

The Farragut Houses is a public housing project located in the downtown neighborhood of northwestern Brooklyn, New York City, bordering the Brooklyn Navy Yard. Farragut Houses is a property of New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA). The houses contain 3,272 residents who reside in ten buildings that are each 13 to 14 stories high.

60 Water Street is a 17-story mixed-use building in the Dumbo section of Brooklyn in New York City. Designed by Ismael Leyva and Leeser Architecture, the mixed use building is located right next to the Brooklyn Bridge and features many sustainable considerations. The building envelope design uses pattern at two scales to enliven the surface of the residential tower project. Finished in Spring 2015, the building utilizes its staggered towers to create green features including a low-intensive green roof and a garden roof deck overlooking the Brooklyn Bridge.

Empire Stores is a former warehouse complex along the waterfront Brooklyn Bridge Park within the neighborhood of Dumbo, Brooklyn, New York City, in the U.S. state of New York. It hosts a food hall and market operated by Time Out New York, which opened in 2019, as well as an art gallery called Gallery 55.
