The Downe Township School District is a community public school district that serves students in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade from Downe Township, in Cumberland County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2018–19 school year, the district, comprising one school, had an enrollment of 186 students and 17.0 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 10.9:1. Nantuxent Creek is a 5.5-mile-long (8.9 km) estuary of Delaware Bay in Cumberland County, New Jersey in the United States.It rises on the border of Lawrence and Downe Townships, in the marshes to the northwest of Newport, at the convergence of Middle Brook and Pages Run. It forms part of the border between the two townships. As it runs south, then west around Jones Island, it passes the Nantuxent Wildlife Management Area, which lies on the island, and Newport Landing on the other bank. Its named tributaries are all marsh channels which enter it in the vicinity of Jones Island or below. The creek empties into Nantuxent Cove of Delaware Bay.

Lawrence Township is a township in Cumberland County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. It is part of the Vineland-Bridgeton metropolitan statistical area for statistical purposes. As of the 2020 United States census, the township's population was 3,087, a decrease of 203 (−6.2%) from the 2010 census count of 3,290, which in turn reflected an increase of 569 (+20.9%) from the 2,721 counted in the 2000 census.Lawrence Township was incorporated as a township by an act of the New Jersey Legislature on February 17, 1885, from portions of Fairfield Township. Students sent to Bridgeton attend Bridgeton High School. Students sent to Millville join students from Commercial Township, Maurice River Township and Woodbine and attend Memorial High School for ninth grade and half of the tenth grade and Millville Senior High School for half of the tenth grade through the twelfth grade.

Centre Grove is a census-designated place (CDP) located in Cumberland County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. It is in the center part of the county, on the east side of Lawrence Township. It is bordered to the east by the city of Millville. Bridgeton, the Cumberland county seat, is 9 miles (14 km) to the northwest. Centre Grove was first listed as a CDP prior to the 2020 census with a population of 1,281.

Fairton is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) located within Fairfield Township, in Cumberland County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. It is part of the Vineland-Millville-Bridgeton Primary Metropolitan Statistical Area for statistical purposes. As of the 2010 United States Census, the CDP's population was 1,264.

The Federal Correctional Institution, Fairton (FCI Fairton) is a medium-security United States federal prison for male inmates in New Jersey. It is operated by the Federal Bureau of Prisons, a division of the United States Department of Justice. The facility also has an adjacent satellite prison camp housing minimum-security male offenders and a completely separate medium-security unit that houses inmates admitted into the federal Witness Security Program. FCI Fairton is located 50 miles (80 km) southeast of Philadelphia and 40 miles (64 km) west of Atlantic City.

Spindrift Sailing Yacht is located in Fairfield Township, Cumberland County, New Jersey, United States. The yacht was built in 1882 and was added to the National Register of Historic Places on April 22, 1982.

Fairfield Presbyterian Church is a historic Presbyterian Church in America congregation in the Fairton section of Fairfield Township in Cumberland County, New Jersey. It was founded in 1680 when a log church was built on the banks of the Cohansey Creek, and it is the oldest existing congregation currently within the PCA (which it joined in 1980 after leaving the UPCUSA in 1971). This log church was replaced by a New England style frame building sometime between 1713 and 1715. In 1780, the Old Stone Church was built, which still exists a mile and half to the south of Fairton, and north of Cedarville, on County Route 553. The stone church was in use until 1850, when the present building in Fairton was completed. It was documented by the Historic American Buildings Survey in 1936. The Old Stone Church has been preserved and was added to the National Register of Historic Places on May 12, 1977, for its significance in architecture.In 2006 the church celebrated its 325th anniversary. The church subscribes to the Westminster Confession of Faith. The current senior pastor is Rev. Michael Schuelke, who has served the congregation since 1992.
