Jester I Unit

Carol S. Vance Unit (J2, previously the Harlem II Unit and the Jester II Unit) is a Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) prison located in unincorporated central Fort Bend County, Texas. The unit, located in flatlands, is along U.S. Highway 90A, 4 miles (6.4 km) east of central Richmond. The facility is in proximity to Sugar Land, and it is about 20 miles (32 km) southwest of Downtown Houston. The unit, with about 940 acres (380 ha) of land, is co-located with Jester I Unit, Jester III Unit, and Jester IV Unit. The unit consists of four steel buildings and two brick buildings. The prison is the home of the Prison Fellowship Academy (formerly known as the "InnerChange Freedom Initiative") Christian prison program. It is located on the Jester State Prison Farm property.

William B. Travis High School, known simply as Travis High School, is a public high school in Pecan Grove, Fort Bend County, Texas. Located off Grand Parkway and in Houston's extraterritorial jurisdiction, the school is Fort Bend Independent School District's (FBISD) tenth high school and the largest school by enrollment in the district. Opened in 2006, Travis holds a Richmond, Texas address although the school (nor the district) do not serve any part of the city. The school serves part of Pecan Grove, part of Aliana, and part of New Territory (in addition to the employee residences of the nearby Jester State Prison Farm units). Travis is considered one of the most racially diverse public high schools in the state.The school's mascot is the tiger and the school colors are scarlet, gray, and white.Travis hosts two of FBISD's high school academies: the Global Studies Academy (GSA) and the International Business and Marketing Academy (IBMA).

The Wayne Scott Unit (J4), formerly known as the Beauford H. Jester IV Unit, is a psychiatric facility of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice located in unincorporated Fort Bend County, Texas, 4 miles (6.4 km) east of Richmond. It is a part of the Jester State Prison Farm property and it is located on U.S. Highway 90A.The unit was established in November 1993. The facility features wide hallways, skylights, and floor-to-ceiling windows. The cement walls have murals made by prisoners that depict wildlife. Jester IV is located in the middle of a cornfield. After the closure of the nearby Central Unit in 2011, John Whitmire, the chairperson of the criminal justice committee of the Texas Senate, said that the decision to open Jester IV was a decision that "I think we'll regret." In 2011 a middle school, James Bowie Middle School, and a strip commercial center opened across the street from Jester IV and Jester III Unit.As of March 2013 Jester IV housed 550 prisoners. They are among the most mentally ill and violent prisoners in the TDCJ. While male death row prisoners are normally housed in the Polunsky Unit near Livingston, Texas, eight are instead housed in Jester IV as of March 2013. Marc Bookman of Mother Jones said in 2013 that "by all accounts Jester IV is a quieter place" compared to Polunsky.The prison was renamed to Wayne Scott Unit in 2021. The name "Wayne Scott Unit" was formerly held by a Brazoria County prison originally known as the Retrieve Unit; the main facility of that prison closed in 2020.

Pecan Grove is a census-designated place and master-planned community within the extraterritorial jurisdiction of Richmond in Fort Bend County, Texas, United States. The population was 22,782 at the 2020 census.

Aliana is a 2,300-acre (931 ha) planned community in unincorporated Fort Bend County, Texas, United States. It consists of 13 subdivisions and is within the Greater Houston area. All properties in Aliana have a Richmond address. The community is completely served by Fort Bend Independent School District and is located along Grand Parkway.

Stephen F. Austin High School is a secondary school located in unincorporated Fort Bend County, Texas and is named after Stephen F. Austin, who helped lead American settlement of Texas, and who is widely regarded as "The Father of Texas." The school happens to be only miles from Austin's original colony in present-day Fort Bend County.Some areas of Sugar Land, Windsor Estates, and the western portion of the community of New Territory are zoned to Austin. On previous occasions employee housing units of the Jester State Prison Farm (including Jester I Unit, Carol Vance Unit, Jester III Unit) were zoned to Austin.The school, which serves grades 9-12, is a part of the Fort Bend Independent School District. Although having a Sugar Land, Texas address, the school is located outside the city limits of Sugar Land; only students from New Territory live within the City of Sugar Land.

The Beauford H. Jester Complex, formerly the Jester State Prison Farm, refers to a complex of Texas Department of Criminal Justice prisons for men in unincorporated Fort Bend County, Texas. Individually they are Jester I Unit, Carol Vance Unit (Jester II Unit), Jester III Unit, and Wayne Scott Unit (Jester IV Unit). Texas State Highway 99 (Grand Parkway) bisects the prison property. Cornfields surround the Jester property.A portion of the property is within the Pecan Grove CDP.

New Territory is a master-planned community within the city of Sugar Land, Texas, United States. It was formerly a census-designated place (CDP) and in the extraterritorial jurisdiction of Sugar Land, in unincorporated Fort Bend County. It was annexed into Sugar Land on December 12, 2017. The population was 15,186 at the 2010 census, up from 13,861 at the 2000 census.

The Central Unit (C, previously the Imperial State Prison Farm and the Central State Prison Farm) was a Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) men's prison in Sugar Land, Texas. The approximately 325.8-acre (131.8 ha) facility is 2 miles (3.2 km) from the central part of the city of Sugar Land on U.S. Highway 90A. The unit first opened in April 1909. The unit had 950 beds for men but related facilities increased capacity at the site.Sugar Land Regional Airport was developed adjacent to this unit, with the runway between two parts of the prison property. The Central Unit was the only state prison within the city limits of Sugar Land which, since 1960, has been highly developed as a suburban, upscale residential and business city.In August 2011, the TDCJ announced that the Central Unit would be the first prison in Texas to close without being replaced. The state wanted to save money at a time of budget shortfalls.Since then, most of the former prison plantation land has been redeveloped by Newland Communities as a master-planned community known as Telfair. Newland Communities had bought the land in 2002 from the State of Texas, long planning such development. Two Camp, a former prison building, has been renovated as the Houston Museum of Natural Science Sugar Land. Other parts of the site are zoned for light industrial use to support the airport.

Four Corners is a census-designated place (CDP) within the extraterritorial jurisdiction of Houston in Fort Bend County, Texas, United States. The population was 12,103 at the 2020 census, up from 2,954 at the 2000 census.

I.H. Kempner High School, better known simply as Kempner High School, is a public high school in Sugar Land, Texas and a part of the Fort Bend Independent School District. It was named after Isaac Herbert Kempner (1873–1967), the founder of the Imperial Sugar Corporation, which founded Sugar Land as a company-owned town in the early 1900s. Kempner serves areas within Sugar Land, including a portion of First Colony. A small portion of the City of Houston is in the school's boundary. It also includes the former census-designated place of Town West (Townewest). The motto for the school is "Knowledge, Honor, Success, we are KHS!”.

Constellation Field is a baseball park located in Sugar Land, Texas. It is the home of the Sugar Land Space Cowboys of the Pacific Coast League, who began play in 2012 as the Sugar Land Skeeters. The park also has the ability to host rugby union, American football, soccer, lacrosse, and cheerleading competitions, as well as concerts. Constellation Field has a capacity of 7,500 spectators for baseball games, and 9,500 spectators for concerts.
