Rower–Inistioge GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in the Inistioge area of County Kilkenny, Ireland. The club is almost exclusively concerned with hurling and camogie.

Inistioge (; Irish: Inis Tíog) is a small village in County Kilkenny, Ireland. Historically, its name has been spelt as Ennistioge, Ennisteage, and in other ways. The village is situated on the River Nore, 25 kilometres (16 mi) southeast of Kilkenny. Inistioge is in a townland and civil parish of the same name.Situated along the River Nore, Inistioge is entered by crossing a 10 arch stone bridge. The village has a tree-lined square and a number of 18th and 19th century homes along the river. Inistioge and its village green have been used as a filming location for a number of films. Inistioge developed significantly during the 18th and 19th centuries as a part of the Tighe families' Woodstock Estate.

Woodstock House and Estate is a derelict Georgian house and estate located near Inistioge, County Kilkenny, Ireland, on the west bank of the River Nore. The Ladies of Llangollen story began here and Mary Tighe died here. The house was destroyed by presumed arson after it was used a billet by the British army during Ireland's War of Independence. The house is still a ruin but the gardens are open to the public.

Gowran (; Irish: Gabhrán) is a barony in the east of County Kilkenny, Ireland. The size of the barony is 430.5 square kilometres (166.2 sq mi). There are 35 civil parishes in Gowran. The chief town today is Gowran. The barony contains the ecclesiastical sites of Kilfane and Duiske Abbey The barony of Gowran is situated in the east of the county between the baronies of Fassadinin to the north (whose chief town is Castlecomer), the baronies of Kilkenny, Shillelogher and Knocktopher to the west (whose chief towns are Kilkenny, Bennettsbridge and Knocktopher), and the barony of Ida is to the south. It borders County Carlow to the east. The M9 motorway bisects the barony.

Dungarvan is a small village in the parish of Gowran in County Kilkenny, Ireland. It is situated about 10 km south-east of Kilkenny city, on the R448 road between Gowran and Thomastown.

The Cantwell Fada (lit. 'the long/tall (fada) Cantwell'; also known as the Long Man) is an effigy of a knight on display in the ruins of the 14th-century Kilfane Church in Kilfane near Thomastown in County Kilkenny, southern Ireland. The effigy is carved from a single slab of limestone. The knight wears a metal skull-cap covered by a coif, and a chainmail hauberk protecting his torso as far as his knees. It is under a cloth surcoat with deep folds and a sword belt. He has prominent spurs on his feet, showing that he fought on horseback. His legs are crossed, the right leg over the left. This was formerly believed to show that he was a participant in the Crusades, but is now considered a stylistic convention. In the left hand is carried a large shield bearing the arms of the Cantwell family.It is believed to represent Thomas de Cantwell (d. 1319), a Cambro-Norman adventurer who became Lord of Kilfane. The Cantwell family's main castle was Cantwell's Castle in Sandfordscourt. The stone effigy is thought to originally have been a sarcophagus slab which has since been set upright against an inner wall of the church. The statue represents an example of the high standard achieved by Irish sculptural workshops in the Pale prior to a cultural and economic decline marked by the Edward Bruce invasion and the arrival of the Black Death.Hubert Butler, essayist, recalled the local tale that children at the nearby Protestant school were sometimes punished by having to kiss the statue.Nearby is The Longman of Kilfane, a public house and restaurant named for the Cantwell Fada.

Gowran Park is a horse race course in County Kilkenny, Ireland. It is located in the Annely Estate near the village of Gowran.The first meeting was held in 1914. and the first ever racecourse commentary in Ireland took place here in 1952. Gowran Park hosts 16 race days throughout the year with both National Hunt and Flat meetings. The racing season at Gowran Park has quality fixtures spread evenly throughout the year starting with the Thyestes Handicap Chase in January.

Evidence of historical settlement in Columkille townland itself include a number of fulacht fiadh sites, a reputed holy well, and a graveyard and ruined church in an ecclesiastical enclosure. Other townlands within Columbkille civil parish include Ballyroe, Carrickmourne, Dangan, Jackstown, Kilcullen, Kiljames (Upper and Lower), Kilmurry, Ruppa and Mungmacody.
