Wicks Family Field at Joe Davis Stadium (also known locally as Joe Davis Stadium, and simply, "The Joe") is a soccer stadium in Huntsville, Alabama, United States, and was formerly a minor league baseball stadium. Joe Davis Stadium hosted the Huntsville Stars of the Southern League from 1985 until 2014, and then served as a temporary home for the Stars' successor (the Biloxi Shuckers) in 2015. It currently serves as the home to Huntsville City FC, the MLS Next Pro team owned and operated by Nashville SC. Built in 1985, the stadium is located on the grounds of Huntsville's former airport, adjacent to Huntsville's main north–south thoroughfare, U.S. Highway 231 (S. Memorial Parkway). The stadium is a multi-purpose facility that seats 10,488 with 15 air-conditioned skyboxes. Ticket offices and the general office are located on the second floor of the stadium. Closed circuit television above the main concourse allows for viewing of the game while grabbing a bite at the concession stands. In addition to baseball and soccer, Joe W. Davis Stadium has been used for high school football, monster truck rallies, and concerts. Nicknamed "The Crown Jewel of the Southern League" upon its construction, the stadium was the oldest venue in the league during its final year of operation. This was not due to planned obsolescence, but to the fact that all the League's other teams had built new parks since 1985, especially in the 1990s, during a craze prompted by the critically acclaimed Oriole Park at Camden Yards, occupied by the Baltimore Orioles.

Parkway Place is an upscale shopping mall in Huntsville, Alabama that opened on October 16, 2002. Parkway Place is located at the site of the older Parkway City Mall, which was torn down to allow for the construction of the newer facility. The mall is located at the intersection of Memorial Parkway (U.S. 231) and Drake Avenue. With a total of 643,135 square feet (59,749.2 m2) and 70 in-line stores, Parkway Place is anchored by Dillard's and Belk. The mall is now the only indoor shopping mall in Huntsville after Madison Square Mall closed in early 2017. Parkway Place offers shoppers of the Tennessee Valley several stores that are unique to the Huntsville market, including, Torrid, Build-A-Bear Workshop, American Eagle/Aerie, and Chico's. The mall has over 2,800 free parking spaces (including the parking deck) and seats 400 people in the food court. Parkway Place is owned by CBL & Associates Properties, Inc.

Milton Frank Stadium is a 12,000-seat multi-purpose stadium in Huntsville, Alabama. It was used for Alabama A&M football games before the creation of Louis Crews Stadium. It is currently used mainly for Huntsville City Schools high school and middle school football and soccer games and track meets. Construction began in 1949 and the stadium was opened in 1962 as Huntsville Stadium. It was soon renamed Milton Frank Stadium in honor of Milton Frank, the long-time football coach and athletic director of Huntsville High School and chairman of Huntsville City School Board of Education. In the 1990s, the grass field was replaced with artificial turf and a new track replaced the original asphalt track. Milton Frank Stadium was the home of the Alabama Hawks of the Continental Football League during the team's two years of affiliation with that league in 1968–1969. Since 2008, the stadium has been the home field for the Tennessee Valley Tigers, a women's American football team currently in the Women's Spring Football League. John Stanley Welzyn was the public address announcer during high school games at the stadium from 1964 until retiring in 1996. During his tenure, Welzyn also announced Alabama Hawks pro football and Alabama A&M Bulldogs college football games. Welzyn died in 1999 at the age of 66.Special Olympics competitions for the Madison County, Alabama, area are held each year at the stadium.In November 2011, the Huntsville City Schools announced that a contract valued at $1.6 million was signed with Goldmon Matheny Architects to renovate the stadium. Upgrades included new stadium entrances, new fences, new gates, new scoreboards, plus the demolition of the existing restrooms and locker rooms under both grandstands then construction of new locker rooms, restrooms, and concession areas to replace them.

The Merrimack Mill Village Historic District is a historic district in Huntsville, Alabama. The cotton mill was built in 1900 by the Merrimack Manufacturing Company, reaching a peak of 1,600 employees by 1955. The mill was sold in 1946, and became known as the Huntsville Manufacturing Company. It operated until 1989 and was torn down in 1992. Houses in the adjoining mill village were built between 1900 and 1937, and encompass many mill house styles not commonly seen outside New England. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2010.

Huntsville High School is an American public high school in Huntsville, Madison County, Alabama in the Huntsville metropolitan area. It is part of the Huntsville City Schools district with approximately 1,850 students currently enrolled in grades 9–12.The school is located at the intersection of Bob Wallace Avenue (formerly 13th Street West) and Billie Watkins Street. In 2014, the school constructed its Freshman Academy on-site, intended to facilitate students' transition from middle school to high school and in which the majority of its freshman classes take place. The school offers 15 Advanced Placement courses alongside preparatory courses for industry certification.The school's current principal as of the 2023 school year is Kari Flippo and its current assistant principals are Mark Fleetwood and Lauren Woltjen.

Lowe Mill is a former cotton mill of size approximately 171,000 sq ft (15,900 m2) located southwest of downtown Huntsville, Alabama. Today, the building is operated by Lowe Mill ARTS & Entertainment. Lowe Mill is currently home to two hundred artists.

WBHP (1230 kHz, "The Big Talker") is a commercial AM radio station in Huntsville, Alabama, and serves Madison County. The station is owned by San Antonio-based iHeartMedia and airs a news/talk format. WBHP programming is simulcast on AM 800 WHOS in nearby Decatur, FM translator at 102.5 FM and on 102.1 WDRM-HD2 (HD Radio). Its studios are located in Madison, Alabama, and its transmitter is located southwest of downtown Huntsville.

The Leech–Hauer House was a historic residence in Huntsville, Alabama. It was built circa 1830 by professional carpenter William Leech. It was built in a transitional style between Federal and Greek Revival. The house was a two-story, L-shaped structure, with a front porch which was later enclosed. John G. Hauer purchased the house in 1904, and it remained a family residence until it was sold to a flower shop in 1974. It was purchased by physician (and later politician) Parker Griffith and his brother in 1977. The house was listed on the Alabama Register of Landmarks and Heritage and National Register of Historic Places in 1978. The house was subsequently demolished, and a modern medical office building was constructed on the site in 1988.

Governors Drive is a major east–west thoroughfare in Huntsville, Alabama. It follows U.S. Route 431 (US-431) in east Huntsville and State Route 53 (SR-53) in west Huntsville. Governors Drive is one of the main entrance points to the city from the east, carrying on average approximately 48,000 vehicles a day across Monte Sano Mountain.

Big Spring Cafe is a diner in Huntsville, Alabama. It opened in 1922, and is the oldest restaurant in the city. It is often noted as a landmark in the city and as one of Huntsville's "signature" restaurants. When the original location opened, it served only hamburgers consisting of ground beef, onions, mustard and salt on a roll.

The Huntsville-Madison County Public Library is a public, Carnegie library in Huntsville, Alabama. Founded in 1818, when Alabama was still a part of the Mississippi Territory, it is the oldest continuing library in the state. It was first located in the office of attorney John Nelson Spotswood Jones, in the Boardman Building, which is now a part of Constitution Hall Park. The Library also occupied space in the Green Academy from 1821 until Union soldiers burned the school during the Civil War, and moved to borrowed spaces several times until the Carnegie Library opened in 1916. It was designed by Huntsville architect and preservationist Edgar Lee Love. A new building was constructed to accommodate city and county growth, and opened in 1966. The area enjoyed rapid growth with the influx of government employees involved in the development of the space program, including the United States Army and NASA, and the library eventually needed more space as early as 1969. Library officials began planning for a new building in 1983. The current facility's main branch, sometimes referred to as "Fort Book" for its fortress-like appearance, opened on Monroe Street in April 1987 and serves as the headquarters for the Huntsville Madison County Public Library System. The building contains 123,000 square feet (11,400 m2), has a seating capacity of 930 and contains over 530,000 volumes, with administrative offices located on the third floor. The library had a circulation of 1,915,548 in 2007, making it the highest-circulating library in Alabama.The Huntsville-Madison County Public Library received a federal grant from the Library Services and Technology Act in 2004 specifically to digitize photographs from the Library's Archives for inclusion in the Alabama Mosaic Project.

William Hooper Councill High School served African American students in Huntsville, Alabama, from 1867 until 1966 and is now the site of William Hooper Councill Memorial Park. The first public school for African Americans in Huntsville, it was named for William Hooper Councill who founded Lincoln School in Huntsville and pushed for its expansion into the state normal school it became in 1875, leading to its becoming Alabama A&M University. The high school has several prominent alumni. In 1965, its football team was undefeated. The school closed during integration (desegregation) and the last class graduated in 1966. The high school building is extant and is listed on the Alabama Register of Landmarks and Heritage. Community activists organized to have the school site redeveloped as a park. The park is at 620 St. Clair Avenue next to the Huntsville Madison County Public Library. A bronze statue of Councill is in the park. Statues of children are also planned.
