Old Trinity Church is an historic Episcopal church at 1716 Taylors Island Road in Church Creek, Maryland. It was built around 1675 of red brick and is one of the oldest church buildings in continuous use in the continental United States and original thirteen states. The church was restored in the 1950s and still holds regular Sunday worship services and has an active burial ground.

In addition to its usual music programming, WCEM-FM broadcasts Baltimore Ravens games and little league baseball all-star games during the summer.

Church Creek is a town in Dorchester County, Maryland, United States, part of the state's Eastern Shore. As of the 2020 census, Church Creek had a population of 102. Church Creek is located approximately six miles south of Cambridge. Old Trinity Church is located here. An Anglican (now Episcopal) brick church built in 1675, it is the oldest church building in the US in continuous ecclesiastical use.

Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad National Historical Park is a 480-acre (190 ha) National Park Service unit in the U.S. state of Maryland. It commemorates the life of former enslaved Harriet Tubman, who became an activist in the Underground Railroad prior to the American Civil War. The Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad National Monument was created by President Barack Obama under the Antiquities Act on March 25, 2013. The portion of the monument administered by the National Park Service was later designated a National Historical Park in 2014, and the remainder is managed by the Fish and Wildlife Service as part of Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge.

Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad State Park is a Maryland state park dedicated to the life and work of abolitionist and Underground Railroad activist Harriet Tubman. The park is on Route 335 near Church Creek in Dorchester County, adjacent to Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge.

The Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad Visitor Center is a visitor center and history museum located on the grounds of the Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad State Park (a Maryland state park) in Church Creek, Maryland, in the United States. The state park is surrounded by Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge, whose north side is bordered by Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad National Historical Park. Jointly created and managed by the National Park Service and Maryland Park Service, the visitor center opened on March 10, 2017.

The Christ Rock Methodist Episcopal Church is a historic church building in Dorchester County, Maryland. It is located across from the Stanley Institute, at the junction of Maryland Route 16 with Rock Drive. The wood-frame building was built in 1875, and rebuilt in 1889 and 1911. The church served a congregation of African Americans who migrated to Dorchester County after the American Civil War.The church was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2014, as "Rock Methodist Episcopal Church".

Stanley Institute, also known as Rock School, is a historic African American school building located at Cambridge, Dorchester County, Maryland. It is a rectangular one-story, gable-front frame building with a small entrance vestibule built about 1865. Three original blackboards still occupy their proper locations. The building was moved to its present location from a site near Church Creek in 1867. It served as both a church and a school until the erection of the present Rock Methodist Church later in the 19th century.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.

The University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science (UMCES) is a multi-university scientific research center within the University System of Maryland dedicated to environmental science, estuarine studies, and marine science. Its origins are found in a 1925 research station on Solomons Island. In 1973 it became the Center for Environmental and Estuarine Studies and in 1997 it assumed its current name. The center focuses on environmental research and education in Maryland, United States, with special attention to problems of the Chesapeake Bay, and includes climate research. Research programs are undertaken across the US and globally. Its educational opportunities include graduate studies and undergraduate research internships. The center has about 60 faculty and 110 graduate students. Donald Boesch served as the institution's president from 1990 until 2017, and has been succeeded by Peter Goodwin. UMCES programs are conducted at five constituent research locations: Appalachian Laboratory (Frostburg, Maryland) in cooperation with Frostburg State University. Chesapeake Biological Laboratory (Solomons, Maryland) Horn Point Laboratory (Cambridge, Maryland) Institute of Marine and Environmental Technology (Baltimore, Maryland) in cooperation with the University of Maryland, Baltimore and the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. Maryland Sea Grant College (College Park, Maryland) in cooperation with the University of Maryland, College Park - UMD College of Agriculture and Natural Resources and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. The Center also administers the Integration and Application Network, which provides scientific data, reports and visualization tools for researchers, students and the general public.

Slaughter Creek is a 6.7-mile-long (10.8 km) saltwater creek that drains into the Little Choptank River. The creek is 0.3 miles (0.5 km) wide at its mouth. It separates Taylors Island, Maryland from the mainland.
