Weimar High School

Weimar ( or, by many non-locals, ) is a city in Colorado County, Texas, United States. The population was 2,076 at the 2020 census. It is part of the Texas-German belt region and was founded and named by German emigrants after the city of Weimar, Germany. In 1873 the town was founded in anticipation that the Galveston, Harrisburg, & San Antonio Railroad was going to build through the site. It was originally named "Jackson" after D.W. Jackson, a native Georgian and landowner, but subsequently was called "Weimar" in tribute to the German city of Weimar.Located on Interstate 10 and US 90 between San Antonio, Austin, and Houston, Weimar is a small community of predominantly Czech and German descendants.

The Simon Pytlovany House is a historic house in Fayette County, Texas. It is located about 1.5 miles (2.4 km) south of Dubina on FM 1383. It is an example of immigrants bringing building styles to their new homes. The house is built in the style of a Ukrainian Izba. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on April 14, 1975 and designated a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark.

Dubina is a small unincorporated community in Fayette County, Texas, United States. It currently is home to a population of approximately 44 persons, but it was once a thriving community. Dubina was the first Czech settlement in Texas and dates from 1856. It is located 90 miles west of Houston and 104 miles east of San Antonio. Most of the town since 2003 has been designated as the Dubina Historic District on the National Register of Historic Places.The naming of this settlement as Dubina ("oak grove") goes back to one of the first nights spent by the settlers. As the story goes, the settlers were travelling, looking for a suitable place to settle down when it started raining. They sat down under a very large oak tree for shelter and looked around, realizing how comfortable this place was. They then settled there, giving it what they considered the appropriate name. After the Civil War, Dubina became a toehold for recently arrived Czech immigrants. The nearby town of Hackberry was for German settlers. Dubina has some historical buildings, the most famous of which is one of Texas' painted churches, Saints Cyril and Methodius.

Borden is an unincorporated community in southwestern Colorado County, Texas, United States, located four miles northeast of Weimar.The community was known as Harvey's Creek Settlement before the Civil War. After the war ended, Gail Borden returned to Texas, and at what would become Borden, built houses for himself, his brother, and his sons. He renamed the settlement Bordenville. The Galveston, Harrisburg and San Antonio Railway opened its line through the Borden area in 1872.In 2000, Borden had 60 residents.

St. John the Baptist Catholic Church is a historic church on FM 1383 in Ammannsville, Texas. It was built in 1917 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

Schulenburg is a city in Fayette County, Texas, United States. Its population was 2,633 at the 2020 census. Known for its German culture, Schulenburg is home of the Texas Polka Music Museum. It is in a rural, agricultural area settled by German and Czech emigrants in the 1800s.

Nativity of Mary, Blessed Virgin Catholic Church is a historic church located at 2833 Farm to Market Road 2672 in High Hill, Texas. The church, which was built in 1906, was designed by prominent Texas church architect Leo M.J. Dielmann. Dielmann designed the red brick church in the Gothic Revival style. The interior of the church was painted by Ferdinand Stockert and Hermann Kern in 1912. The pair painted designs on canvas and affixed them to the church walls, resulting in decorations which resemble wallpaper. The designs were drawn freehand and include symbols such as angels, crosses with crowns, Stars of David, and bunches of grapes. The church was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

High Hill is an unincorporated community in southwestern Fayette County, Texas, United States. It is located on Farm to Market Road 2672, three miles northwest of Schulenburg, Texas.

Swiss Alp is an unincorporated community in southern Fayette County, Texas, United States. Swiss Alp was settled circa 1865 by German Lutheran settlers. In 1889–1890, the residents built a United Evangelical Lutheran Church. This church is the second oldest Lutheran congregation in Texas.
