Richmond Hill Public Library is the organization that runs public libraries in the town of Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada.

Alexander Mackenzie High School (AMHS), formerly known as Don Head Secondary School is a public secondary school with classes for students in grades 9 through 12, located in Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada. The school opened in 1969 as Don Head Secondary School and was renamed Alexander Mackenzie High School in 1992, in honour of Major Addison Alexander Mackenzie, a Richmond Hill resident and philanthropist. It was announced in October 2008 that AMHS will join Huron Heights S.S., Unionville High School, and Westmount Collegiate as one of the four high schools in York Region to offer a specialized arts program. This program is known as ARTS Mackenzie and encompasses dance, theatre arts, music and visual arts. In 2017, AMHS, along with G.W. Williams SS, Maple HS, Miliken Mills HS, joined Bayview SS as the board's IB Diploma Programme schools.

Discovery Academy is a co-educational private school located in Richmond Hill, Ontario with secondary and elementary divisions along with an international division. Discovery Academy offers all Ontario Ministry of Education courses and others including TOEFL, IELTS, and programming. The school offers day and evening programs for students starting from Preschool through 12. Discovery Academy was founded in 2006 by Marina Blumin, a researcher in nanotechnology at the University of Toronto. The school has an academic/gifted focus. Education is in English, with partial French immersion. There are no uniforms, and the elementary school uses in-house textbooks. The school's primary location is in Richmond Hill, Ontario, with an international school at the former Central School in Port Hope, which the school bought in 2011.

Richmond Hill (2021 population: 202,022) is a city in south-central York Region, Ontario, Canada. Part of the Greater Toronto Area, it is the York Region's third most populous municipality and the 27th most populous municipality in Canada. Richmond Hill is situated between the cities of Markham and Vaughan, north of Thornhill, and south of Aurora. Richmond Hill has seen significant population growth since the 1990s. Richmond Hill United Church, at 10201 Yonge Street, is a designated heritage building in the town of Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada. The main body of the building dates back to 1880, then as Richmond Hill Methodist Church, with later additions built in 1932 and in 1957 (Christian Education building). Originally the Methodist Church, it was renamed the United Church in 1925 when the Methodists, the Congregationalists, and the Presbyterians entered into a union. The church is, and always was, first and foremost a place of worship. In its early days there is a possibility that, aside from general church related uses, it could also have served as a Sunday school. With time and with the extensions the functions expanded in range. The church began to gain recognition not only as a religious venue but also as an important community marker. This church has a strong social justice orientation, and became an affirming ministry in June 2013. Currently, the church has tenants that use parts of its space, which include a dance school, a drama group, ESL training, and a math enrichment program. Occasionally the building is also used as a place for committee meetings and as a gathering space for community groups concerning cultural, social, or other issues.

The Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts is a 43,000-square-foot (4,000 m2) multi-use cultural facility on 1.5 acres (6,100 m2) of land directly on Yonge Street in Richmond Hill's downtown core, at the corner of Yonge and Wright Streets.

Hillcrest Mall, or Hillcrest, is a 54,419-square-metre (585,758 sq ft) enclosed shopping centre located in the town of Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada, on the northwest corner of Yonge Street and Carrville Road. It has 135 shops, services, and restaurants.

Richmond Hill GO Station is a train and bus station in the GO Transit network located in Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada. It was the northern terminus of the Richmond Hill line train service from the service's inception in 1982 until the opening of Gormley GO Station on December 5, 2016.Of all the Richmond Hill line stations, this is the only station that has a reduced length platform which accommodates only up to an L8 consist, a trainset consisting of eight Bombardier BiLevel Coaches and at least one locomotive. Beginning in the spring of 2015, the platform was scheduled to be extended to allow 12-car trains. A pedestrian bridge over Major Mackenzie Drive was built, and a new station building was planned but has not been built. The train layover facility in Richmond Hill was opened in 2014.

The David Dunlap Observatory (DDO) is an astronomical observatory site in Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada. Established in 1935, it was owned and operated by the University of Toronto until 2008. It was then acquired by the city of Richmond Hill, which provides a combination of heritage preservation, unique recreation opportunities and a celebration of the astronomical history of the site. Its primary instrument is a 74-inch (1.88 m) reflector telescope, at one time the second-largest telescope in the world, and still the largest in Canada. Several other telescopes are also located at the site, which formerly also included a small radio telescope. The scientific legacy of the David Dunlap Observatory continues in the Dunlap Institute for Astronomy & Astrophysics, a research institute at the University of Toronto established in 2008. The DDO is the site of a number of important scientific studies, including pioneering measurements of the distance to globular clusters, providing the first direct evidence that Cygnus X-1 was a black hole, and the discovery that Polaris was stabilizing and appeared to be "falling out" of the Cepheid variable category. Located on a hill, yet still relatively close to sea level at 730 feet (220 m) altitude, and now surrounded by urban settlement, its optical astronomy ability has been reduced as compared to other remote observatory sites around the world. On 31 July 2019, the DDO was accepted by the National Historic Board as a National Historic Site of Canada.

The Richmond Hill Curling Club (or RHCC) is a curling centre located in the town of Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada. The modern RHCC has been in operation since 1959; however, the original RHCC was established in 1889. The club has a 12-person Board of Directors which is elected by the membership at large. The Board is responsible for all club operations. The RHCC is a stable 6-sheet club that has curling leagues operating Sunday through Friday, with many bonspiels and rentals on Saturdays. The RHCC is a member of the Toronto Curling Association (TCA), CurlON (formerly known as the Ontario Curling Association) and Curling Canada.
