Mount Saint Joseph College (commonly MSJ or Mount Saint Joe) is a Catholic college preparatory school and secondary school / high school for young men from ninth to twelfth grade sponsored by the Xaverian Brothers and founded in 1876. It is located within the Archdiocese of Baltimore, Maryland.

Beechfield is a neighborhood in the Southwest District of Baltimore, located between Yale Heights (east) and the Baltimore County line (west). Its population in 2008 was estimated at 3,789.The community's boundaries form an inverted pyramid shape, with Frederick Avenue (north) drawing a line across the top from Baltimore County (west) to South Beechfield Avenue (east). Frederick Avenue, Maryland Route 144, becomes Frederick Road as it continues west into Baltimore County. Beechfield's eastern boundary begins at the intersection of Beechfield Avenue and Frederick Avenue (north) to the point where the Baltimore County line crosses Beechfield Avenue (south), the apex of the Beechfield pyramid.

Schwartze Mansion is a historic home located at Baltimore, Maryland, United States in the Irvington Community. It is a two-story, five bay brick Greek Revival building constructed in 1845. It features a flat roofline embellished with a deep modillioned cornice above a frieze decorated with recessed panels. Augustus Jacob Schwartze (1839-1860), a prominent founding investor in Baltimore's important early 19th century textile industry sold land to his brother-in-law, C. Irving Ditty. Augustus and Irving had met while captains of the Maryland Regiment F in the Civil War). Augustus's father, Henry Schwartze (1795-1850) owned most of the land in Irvington. Henry was also father of Sophia L. Schwartze who became Ditty's wife. In 1874, Irving purchased a large amount of this land, between Frederick Avenue and Old Frederick Road, from his mother-in-law, Sophia F. Schwartze. Irving had three dirt streets laid out, running north and south between the two turnpikes. He commissioned contractor A.S. Potter to build four houses on the avenue farthest west. Ditty named this street Augusta, after his eldest daughter. The other two streets today are Collins and Loudon. Ditty, his wife and five children lived at the Schwartze Mansion, also known as the Irving Mansion. After Ditty’s death in 1887, Sophia could no longer afford the expense of two homes (they also owned a three-story townhome in Baltimore), and the mansion was sold, in 1904, to the Marciano family. The mansion was in the Marciano family until 1972. Irvington first appeared on a map in 1877.Schwartze Mansion was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

Irvington is a neighborhood in the Southwest District of Baltimore, located between Yale Heights neighborhood to the west and the Gwynns Falls neighborhood to the east. It was historically nicknamed "Skulltown" for its three large cemeteries: Loudon Park, Mount Olivet and New Cathedral.More than 50 percent of the homes in Irvington were built before 1950. Its population in 2008 was estimated at 4,548.The community's boundary with the Gwynns Falls neighborhood is drawn by Caton Avenue and the MARC Penn Line. Its boundary with Yale Heights follows Maiden Choice Run from Frederick Avenue (north) to Loudon Park Cemetery (south). Irvington's southwest corner encompasses Loudon Park Cemetery, ending at Beechfield Avenue (west), where it meets the Beechfield neighborhood and Wilkens Avenue (south).

Oaklee is a neighborhood in the Southwest District of Baltimore, located at the city's edge between the neighborhoods of Irvington and Violetville. Its boundaries are triangle-shaped, with the Baltimore County line forming its southwestern base. From the triangle's apex to the northeast, U.S. Route 1 branches off from Wilkens Avenue to form the neighborhood's southeastern boundary, while Wilkens draws its northwestern edge from the apex to the base.

The Gundry Sanitarium, also known variously as the Relay Sanitarium, Lewis Gundry Sanitarium, Gundry Hospital, and Conrad Sanitarium, was a medical institution established in 1900 in Southwest Baltimore City, Maryland. The building, originally named "Athol," was constructed in 1880 as a residence for Charles J. Baker and designed by Baltimore architect T. Buckler Ghequier.It was purchased in 1900 by Dr Alfred Gundry as a private sanitarium for the "care of nervous disorders of women that required treatment and rest away from home." It continued in existence as a private sanitarium until 1997. It was purchased by the city in 2006 for historic preservation, but it burned down on September 27, 2021, prior to any improvements.

Weiskittel-Roehle Burial Vault is a historic burial vault located in Section P, Loudon Park Cemetery, Baltimore, Maryland. It is a rectangular structure made of cast iron built into the side of a hill, constructed to look like ashlar masonry and painted gray. It was made as the tomb of Anton W. Weiskittel who died in 1884, a Baltimore iron founder.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.

The New Cathedral Cemetery, formerly Bonnie Brae Cemetery, is a Roman Catholic cemetery, with 125 acres, located on the westside of Baltimore, Maryland, at 4300 Old Frederick Road. It is the final resting place of 110,000 people, including numerous individuals who played important roles in Maryland history.

Loudon Park Cemetery is a historic cemetery in Baltimore, Maryland. It was incorporated on January 27, 1853, on 100 acres (40 ha) of the site of the "Loudon" estate, previously owned by James Carey, a local merchant and politician. The entrance to the cemetery is located at 3620 Wilkens Avenue. The cemetery and Loudon Park Funeral Home, Inc. are locally owned and operated. Both the cemetery and the funeral home became privately owned in 2014 when they were acquired from Service Corporation International (SCI). Loudon Park Funeral Home was built on the grounds of the historic cemetery by Stewart Enterprises in 1995. SCI acquired Stewart Enterprises in 2013.

Baltimore National Cemetery is a United States National Cemetery located along Maryland Route 144 on both sides of the boundary between the neighborhoods of Beechfield in Baltimore City and Catonsville in Baltimore County. It encompasses 72.2 acres (29.2 ha). As of 2022, the cemetery has nearly 46,000 interments. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2016. A kiosk located on the side of the cemetery's administration building lists the names of veterans and dependents buried in this and two other cemeteries: Annapolis National Cemetery and Loudon Park National Cemetery. The kiosk also provides map locations for each grave.
