Shackamaxon Country Club is a private golf country club and banquet facility located in Scotch Plains, New Jersey.

The Elizabeth Town & Country Club was an athletic and social club in Elizabeth, New Jersey that hosted a number of top amateur tennis tournaments during the last century. The club also hosted a number of social and political events for the citizens of Elizabeth and surrounding communities. The club was founded in 1896 when land was acquired near North Broad Street in Elizabeth for a nine-hole golf course and clubhouse. Among Elizabeth Town's charter members was US Senator John Kean (New Jersey) and George C. Thomas, founder of the Thomas & Betts company. The original clubhouse was built in the Shingle Style architecture popular in the late 19th century. One of the club's first golf professionals was John Shippen, the African-American/Native American pioneer golfer.After a fire in 1925, the clubhouse was rebuilt in American Colonial style, the results of which earned favorable reviews in the March, 1926 issue of Golf Illustrated. Shortly after though, the golf course was sold, and the main focus became tennis, squash and swimming. Elizabeth Town was the venue for such tournaments as the Eastern intercollegiate championships, the New Jersey State Open and the Eastern Father & Son Clay Court championships. Among the players who competed were Pancho Segura, Doris Hart and Peter Fleming, best known as John McEnroe's doubles partner, but a top singles player in his own right, having reached a world ranking of No. 8. The Elizabeth Town Club was the scene of numerous receptions for local dignitaries such as US Labor Secretary James P. Mitchell and US Senator Harrison Williams as well as many private social affairs and weddings Among the members in the 1950s and 60s was New York Stock Exchange Chairman James C. Kellogg III and New York Knicks coach Eddie Donovan. In 1980 an outside banquet company began operating the clubhouse as "The Old Mansion" while members continued to enjoy the red clay tennis courts, swimming pool and squash courts. A frequent tennis guest in the 1990s was ex-Governor Brendan Byrne who sat on the Board of the nearby Elizabethtown Water Co. (now part of New Jersey American Water Company). In 2004, the property was sold to the City of Elizabeth Board of Education for construction of a new school, and the Elizabeth Town & Country Club came to an end.The only trace of the club today is 'Country Club Lane', a small development of single family homes built adjacent to the club property on part of the original golf course.

Pumpkin Patch Brook is a stream in Union and Middlesex counties in the U.S. state of New Jersey. It is a tributary of Robinson's Branch of the Rahway River. It flows north from Woodbridge Township into Clark Township. At its mouth into Robinson's Branch there is a wetlands. It is frequently inundated by backflow from Robinson's Branch; generally only "relatively moderate" flooding is seen along this brook. Most of the flooding in Clark originates from Pumpkin Patch Brook. Severe fluvial flooding in both Clark Township and Woodbridge Township can be seen with hurricanes and nor'easters. Suburban development in both townships has increased surface water run-off over impervious land with "over the bank" flooding along the brook.

New Jersey Youth Theatre (NJYT) was a 501(c)3 charitable organization with a business office in Westfield, NJ and Performing Arts School in Roselle Park, NJ. Founded in 1991 by Cynthia Meryl and Theodore J. “Ted” Agress, New Jersey Youth Theatre produced more than 36 main-stage productions. The company closed its doors in 2018 with the founders’ retirement.

Union Catholic Regional High School is a private Catholic high school located in Scotch Plains, in Union County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. Its motto promises to provide a "quality education in a faith-based environment." Founded in 1962 as separate schools for boys and girls, each with its own separate administration and faculty, it has been coeducational since a merger of the two schools in 1980. The school is an active participant in the Anytime/Anywhere learning program. Students from three counties attend the school. The school operates under the auspices of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Newark.As of the 2019–20 school year, the school had an enrollment of 740 students and 59.9 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 12.4:1. The school's student body was 41.4% (306) White, 19.7% (146) Black, 18.0% (133) Hispanic, 10.9% (81) two or more races, 9.6% (71) Asian and 0.4% (3) Native Hawaiian/ Pacific Islander.The school has been accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Elementary and Secondary Schools since November 1969; the school's accreditation expires in May 2023.

Westfield Senior High School (WHS, or Westfield High School) is a comprehensive public high school located in Westfield, in Union County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey, serving students in ninth through twelfth grades as the lone secondary school of the Westfield Public Schools. It was established in the early 1900s at its original location on Elm Street until 1951 when it was moved to its current location on Dorian Road. The new wing designated for biology, chemistry, physics, and other sciences, along with English as a Second Language (ESL) was completed in 2002. Westfield High School is overseen by the New Jersey Department of Education. The school has been accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Elementary and Secondary Schools since 1928.As of the 2021–22 school year, the school had an enrollment of 1,864 students and 151.2 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 12.3:1. The Union County Vocational-Technical Schools (UCVTS) are a grouping of schools on the Union County Vocational Technical Schools Campus in Scotch Plains, New Jersey, United States, which offers educational programs for students across Union County, eight at the high school level for students in ninth through twelfth grades and one at the adult education level. The high school level programs are separated into two groups, full-time students and shared-time students; and the full-time programs are further subdivided into the vocational program and career academies. As of the 2020–21 school year, the district, comprised of eight schools, had an enrollment of 1,633 students and 138.7 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 11.8:1.

The Union County Academy for Information Technology (UC-AIT) is a full-time four-year public high school located in Scotch Plains, in Union County, New Jersey, United States, on the Union County Vocational Technical Schools Campus. The school's goal is to prepare students for college/vocational training utilizing technology through problem solving, project-based learning, and interdisciplinary education. Students must apply to enter the school and the school accepts one-thirds of applicants. The school is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Elementary and Secondary Schools since 1946.As of the 2021–22 school year, the school had an enrollment of 308 students and 14.9 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 20.7:1. Oak Ridge Park is a 90-acre (36 ha) county park in Clark, New Jersey, United States, located on the border of North Edison, New Jersey managed by Union County. The park, formerly Oak Ridge Golf Course, was converted to a park in 2009. The park is home to the historic Homestead Farm at Oak Ridge.
