The RAAF Townsville Aviation Heritage Centre, TAHC, (formally RAAF Townsville Museum) was first opened in 1983 in a small facility housed within the confines of the Townsville RAAF base. Its original purpose was to provide to the general public a medium for displaying the military aviation heritage of North Queensland through artefacts, photographic displays and memorabilia. Initially, the Museum was under the direction of RAAF Museum Point Cook and was open to the public once a month. The Heritage Centre displays a variety of uniforms, insignia, medical supplies, training materials, weaponry, rations and many models of airplanes. Some unusual artefacts include a pack of study cards schools the student in Survival of Atomic Attack and Silhouette cards teach ship identification from the air. Some unopened medical supplies from the 1940s complete with written instructions are also featured.It is at 487 Ingham Road (19.2630°S 146.7668°E / -19.2630; 146.7668 (RAAF Townsville Aviation Heritage Centre)). Since March 2020, it has been temporarily closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Stockland Townsville Shopping Centre is centrally located in Aitkenvale within the urban area of Townsville, Queensland, Australia. The shopping centre is Townsville's largest shopping centre. In 1987 Stockland Townsville opened after a major upgrade to what was previously known as Nathan Plaza (named after the street the centre runs along). In October 2012 Stockland opened a new 2 level Myer department store, a new Woolworths and mini major, Rebel, plus other specialty stores including a 750-seat foodcourt. The centre is also home to Townsville's first Big W store. Stockland Townsville Kmart Centre (formerly Kmart Plaza & Centro Townsville) was acquired in March 2012 and includes Kmart, Coles and 25 specialty stores.

Townsville Airport (IATA: TSV, ICAO: YBTL) is a major Australian regional airport that services the city of Townsville, Queensland. The airport is also known as Townsville International Airport, and Garbutt Airport, a reference to its location in the Townsville suburb of Garbutt. Townsville Airport is serviced by major Australian domestic and regional airlines, and in 2011/12 handled 1.7 million passengers making it the 11th busiest airport in Australia. Townsville Airport is a common-use civilian and defence facility, sharing access with RAAF Base Townsville. It is used as a staging point for Australian Defence Force (ADF) operations within Australia and internationally. The aerodrome has also been used for co-ordination of relief efforts following Tropical Cyclones and other natural disasters, notably Cyclone Larry in 2006. The Royal Flying Doctor Service has one of its nine Queensland bases at Townsville Airport.Townsville Airport was the first Australian regional city airport to be granted international airport status commencing in 1980. International traffic grew substantially through the early 1980s then receded however as a result of airline market restructuring, and significant competition with Cairns Airport for regional tourism. The airport then suffered an extended hiatus from handling direct civil international flights with the final Qantas international service in 2002, between Townsville and Singapore via Brisbane using a Boeing 767. From December 2010, the city again handled direct international flights, flown by Strategic Airlines to Bali Denpasar Airport. These flights ceased with the insolvency of Strategic Airlines, but resumed with Jetstar on 2 September 2015. It was announced on September 11, 2017, that Jetstar will cancel flights to Bali from 21 March 2018 due to low passenger numbers.On February 22, 2017 Tigerair Australia announced that the airline will start flights to Melbourne later that year on June 22, 2017, Tigerair touched down for the first time in Townsville but one year later it was announced on July 3, 2018 that Tigerair will cease flights to Melbourne on August 1, 2018, due to low passenger numbers.The airport is located 2 nautical miles (3.7 km; 2.3 mi) west of the Townsville CBD.

RAAF Base Townsville (IATA: TSV, ICAO: YBTL) (formerly RAAF Base Garbutt) is a Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) air base located in Garbutt, 2 nautical miles (3.7 km; 2.3 mi) west of Townsville in Queensland, Australia. It is the headquarters for No. 1 Wing Australian Air Force Cadets and, along with Lavarack Barracks, establishes Townsville as a key military centre. The base's airfield is shared with the Townsville Airport.

Marian Catholic School is an independent Roman Catholic co-educational primary school located in Currajong, a suburb of City of Townsville, Queensland, Australia. It currently has approximately 350 students and is administered by Catholic Education of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Townsville. The school was formed in 1988 from the remnants of the former St John Fischer's School that was located on the current site of Marian Catholic School.

Ignatius Park College is an independent Catholic secondary school for boys, located in Townsville, Queensland, Australia. The school is affiliated with Edmund Rice Education Australia network that operates under the direction of the Congregation of Christian Brothers. The school was established in 1969 at its current location in Cranbrook, though it was built as a successor school to Our Lady's Mount, the former Catholic boys' secondary that was located in Stanton Hill. The college has a student population of 1000 boys from Years 7 to 12.

Mount St John Anti-Aircraft Battery is a heritage-listed fortification at 43 Toll Street, Mount St John, City of Townsville, Queensland, Australia. It was built between February and April 1942. It is also known as Y Station, 16 Heavy Anti-Aircraft Battery and No. 2 Station, Gun Station 393. It was added to the Queensland Heritage Register on 26 November 1999.
