David L. Lawrence Convention Center

Tekko (formerly Tekkoshocon) is an annual four-day anime convention held during July at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The convention has been held in various locations around the Pittsburgh metropolitan area and is run by a non-profit organization, the Pittsburgh Japanese Culture Society (PJCS). Tekkoshocon's name was a blend of the Japanese word tekkosho, meaning steel mill (a reference to Pittsburgh's industrial steel-producing history), and adapting the suffix "-con" (from convention), which is a common nomenclature archetype among such conventions.

The Stadium Authority of the City of Pittsburgh (also known as the Stadium Authority) is a municipal authority that was charged with the construction of Three Rivers Stadium and the management of the land on which it stood following its 2001 demolition.It currently owns the West General Robinson Street Garage and surface parking lots near PNC Park and Heinz Field. The Stadium Authority also leases parking facilities north of PNC Park. It was formed on March 9, 1964 by the City of Pittsburgh under its authority under the Public Auditorium Authorities Law of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The Stadium Authority board is comprised on five members, all appointed by the Mayor of Pittsburgh. In 2003, the Stadium Authority began a development project in an area called the "Option Area" that allowed the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Pittsburgh Pirates to develop commercial property in conjunction with North Shore Developers. The plan currently has completed the Equitable Resources building and the Del Monte Building.The Pittsburgh Intergovernmental Cooperation Authority, a special administrative authority that supervises the finances of the City of Pittsburgh, has said that the Stadium Authority is no longer necessary and recommended in 2004 that its duties be consolidated into the Sports & Exhibition Authority of Pittsburgh and Allegheny County. However, as of 2016, the Stadium Authority still exists and continues to manage parking lots in the North Shore area. This incongruity has led to some wry attention from local journalists and pundits—for example, University of Pittsburgh economist Chris Briem has referred to it as the "Stadium(less) Authority".

The Penn–Liberty Historic District is a historic district in the downtown Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on November 18, 1987.

The Fort Wayne Railroad Bridge, listed as the Pennsylvania Railroad Bridge on the National Register of Historic Places, is a double-deck steel truss railroad bridge spanning the Allegheny River in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The upper deck carries the Fort Wayne Line with two tracks of Norfolk Southern and Amtrak traffic. The lower deck is unused. The bridge crosses 40 feet (12 m) above the Allegheny and its longest span is 319 feet (97 m).

The Westin Convention Center Pittsburgh is a 26-story, hotel in Downtown Pittsburgh, with a prominent position in the area adjacent to the David L. Lawrence Convention Center and the Cultural District. The hotel is connected via an enclosed walkway to the convention center. The building is part of Liberty Center, a two building complex which also includes the Federated Tower. Liberty Center was developed and built by Liberty Center Ventures, a partnership of Forest City Enterprises and Jos. L. Muscarelle, Inc. and opened in December 1986. In August 2013, Liberty Center was sold by Forest City to Starwood Capital Group for $135 million.

ToonSeum: Pittsburgh Museum of Cartoon Art is a museum devoted exclusively to the cartoon arts, located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. ToonSeum is one of three museums dedicated to cartoon art in the United States. ToonSeum moved to its own gallery space on Liberty Avenue in Pittsburgh's downtown Cultural District on November 8, 2009, aided by the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust. It is currently led by John Kelly.In 2009, the ToonSeum established its NEMO Award, given to notable individuals "for excellence in the cartoon arts". Recipients to date include veteran comic-book artist Ron Frenz, editorial and comic-strip artist Dick Locher, and comics artist, editorial cartoonist and artists' rights advocate Jerry Robinson. In May 2013, ToonSeum hosted the two-day North American Conference of the National Cartoonists Society. In that same month, plans for expansion of the museum were announced.On February 16, 2018, the ToonSeum announced on their Facebook page that they would close the physical location on Liberty avenue February 24, 2018 to focus on direct community outreach.

The Allegheny Aqueduct was John A. Roebling's first wire cable suspension bridge. It was built in 1844 near the later Fort Wayne Railroad Bridge as a replacement for a wooden covered bridge aqueduct over the Allegheny River in Pittsburgh, part of the Pennsylvania Canal.

Federated Tower is a 358 ft (109 m) tall skyscraper in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The building is part of Liberty Center, a two building complex which also includes the Westin Convention Center Hotel. It was completed in 1986 and has 27 floors and 530,000 square feet of space. It is the 16th tallest building in the city and houses the corporate headquarters of Federated Investors. Liberty Center was developed and built by Liberty Center Ventures, a partnership of Forest City Enterprises and Jos. L. Muscarelle, Inc. and opened in December 1986. The $137 million mixed-use complex was the first major development following the Renaissance II burst of construction in downtown Pittsburgh. The entire Liberty Center complex opened in December 1986. The complex was financed from three sources: a $99 million loan from Metropolitan Life Insurance Company, a $21 million from the Pittsburgh Urban Redevelopment Authority, and the remainder from Jos. L. Muscarelle, Inc. and Forest City Enterprises.In August 2013 the tower was sold by Forest City to Starwood Capital Group for $135 million.On February 18, 2014 the tower opened the newly relocated downtown Post Office on the lobby floor.In January 2017, CBRE Global Investors purchased the Federated Tower for an estimated $98 million. The purchase did not include the adjacent Westin Convention Center Hotel, which was part of the 2013 by Starwood Capital Group.

The August Wilson African American Cultural Center is a U.S. nonprofit arts organization based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania that presents performing and visual arts programs that celebrate the contributions of African Americans not only in Western Pennsylvania, but nationally and internationally. The August Wilson African American Cultural Center building is on Liberty Avenue in Downtown Pittsburgh's Cultural District. It includes galleries, classrooms, a 500-seat theater, a gift shop, a cafe, and many multi-purpose spaces for visual and performing art. The museum opened in 2009.

Fort Lafayette, later renamed Fort Fayette, (1792–1814) was an American fort in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States. It was constructed in June 1792 by Major General Anthony Wayne upon his commission to form the Legion of the United States. It was sited near present-day Penn Avenue and Ninth Street in the Cultural District of Downtown Pittsburgh.

The Ewart Building is a historic commercial skyscraper located at 921-925 Liberty Avenue in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

The Byrnes & Kiefer Building in the Strip District neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, is a building from 1892. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.
