Santa Maria degli Angiolini, also known as the Capella degli Angioli, is a Renaissance-style, Roman Catholic church, located on Via della Colonna #34, now serving as a school and dormitory. In 1502, a half-dozen Florentine women retired to a nearby house bought for them by a wool merchant named Dionisio di Clemente. In 1509 the community took up Dominican orders, and they built a convent and this church at the site. During the sixteenth century, the convent was enlarged to cope with the increasing number of nuns (totaling 102 in 1561). In 1785, as part of the reform of the established religious promoted by Grand Duke of Tuscany, Peter Leopold, the convent was transformed into a school. Suppressed in 1808, it was later restored and, at present, still functions as a school. Part of the monastery is used as a dormitory. The church had a Archangels Michele and Gabriello by Francesco Curradi and a Miracle by St Dominic by Matteo Rosselli. The main altarpiece, by Domenico Puligo, has been interpreted as a Presentation of the Virgin at the Temple (1526-1527), but may symbolize the entry of girls into the nunnery, since at the front of the picture are Dominican Saints Antonino Pierozzi, Thomas Aquinas, and Vincent Ferrer on one side and St Helena, Catherine, and Lucy on the other.The ceiling fresco was painted by Giovanni Maria Ciocchi. The refectory has a large fresco of The Last Supper by Rosselli. In the Gallery is a bronze San Giovanni Battista by Giambologna.The church and convent are accessible only by reservation.

The Cappella di San Luca (Chapel of St Luke), also called dei Pittori is a chapel found in the cloisters of the convent of Santissima Annunziata in Florence, Italy. It was built to serve as the burial chapel for members of the Accademia del Disegno, and was donated by the Servites to the Academy in a document from 1565. It contains a collection of terracota statues from a number of prominent Florentine Mannerist sculptors.

The Ospedale degli Innocenti (Italian pronunciation: [ospeˈdaːle deʎʎ innoˈtʃɛnti];) 'Hospital of the Innocents', also known in old Tuscan dialect as the Spedale degli Innocenti, is a historic building in Florence, Italy. It was designed by Filippo Brunelleschi, who received the commission in 1419 from the Arte della Seta. It was originally a children's orphanage. It is regarded as a notable example of early Italian Renaissance architecture. The hospital, which features a nine bay loggia facing the Piazza SS. Annunziata, was built and managed by the "Arte della Seta" or Silk Guild of Florence. That guild was one of the wealthiest in the city and, like most guilds, took upon itself philanthropic duties. Today the building houses a small museum of Renaissance art with works by Luca della Robbia, Sandro Botticelli, and Piero di Cosimo, as well as an Adoration of the Magi by Domenico Ghirlandaio.The building currently serves as the base of operations for the UNICEF Innocenti Research Centre.

The Basilica della Santissima Annunziata (Basilica of the Most Holy Annunciation) is a Renaissance-style, Catholic minor basilica in Florence, region of Tuscany, Italy. This is considered the mother church of the Servite Order. It is located at the northeastern side of the Piazza Santissima Annunziata near the city center.

The Orto Botanico di Firenze (2.3 hectares), also known as the Giardino dei Semplici, the "Garden of simples", is a botanical garden maintained by the University of Florence. It is located at Via Micheli, 3, Florence, Italy, and open weekday mornings. The garden was established on December 1, 1545, by Cosimo I de' Medici, Grand Duke of Tuscany, and is Europe's third oldest, behind the Orto Botanico di Pisa and the Orto Botanico di Padova. It was first laid out by landscape gardener Niccolò Pericoli to a botanical system and plantings chosen by Luca Ghini, and rose to prominence under Cosimo III, with Pier Antonio Micheli as its director. As was typical of early European botanical gardens, its prime interest was in medicinal plants. However, as in 1753 the Società Botanica was formed, the garden's focus turned to "experimental agriculture" and its layout was revised accordingly. The garden grounds opened to the public in the mid-19th century, at about the same time that its glass houses (1694 m²) were constructed. Today the garden contains some 9,000 plant specimens laid out in a roughly square site surrounded by walls, crossed by a grid of walkways, and with a central fountain. The Piazza della Santissima Annunziata is a square in the city of Florence, in the Tuscany region of Italy. The Piazza is named after the church of the Annunziata at the head of the square. In the center of the piazza is the bronze Equestrian statue of Ferdinando I and two Mannerist fountains with fantastical figures, all works completed by the Late Renaissance sculptor Pietro Tacca.
