Lehinch

Lahinch Golf Club is a links golf course in western Ireland, in the town of Lahinch on the northwest coast of County Clare in northern Munster. It is situated approximately thirty-two kilometres (20 mi) northwest of the town of Ennis. In 2016, Golf Digest ranked the Old Course at Lahinch #65 on their list of the world's greatest golf courses.It was founded 130 years ago in 1892 by Alexander W. Shaw and Richard J. Plummer, officials of Limerick Golf Club. They laid out an 18-hole course, the original course had ten holes on each side of the road. It has been described as the "St. Andrew's" of Ireland. The original links was laid out by Old Tom Morris; Alister MacKenzie, who co-designed Augusta National Golf Club, redesigned the Old Course and extended the links in 1927 for a fee of £2000. Lahinch is actually two 18-hole courses, the Old Course, is between the road and the sea, situated at the opposite side of the road from the Old Course is the Castle Course. The Castle Course is a flatter links named after the ruins of a nearby castle tower that stands to the north of the course. One unusual feature of the Old Course is the presence of goats which are allowed to roam freely across the course. They were originally owned by a caddie who lived near the course, and in 1956 a goat was incorporated into the club's logo.Lahinch Golf Club is home to the South of Ireland Championship, an amateur golf tournament which began in 1895. Notable winners include Joe Carr in 1969, Darren Clarke in 1989, Paul McGinley in 1991 and Graeme McDowell in 2000. Ireland's Pádraig Harrington finished runner up on two occasions.Lahinch Golf Club hosted the 2019 Dubai Duty Free Irish Open, which was played from 4–7 July. The tournament was hosted by Paul McGinley and won by Jon Rahm.

Lahinch or Lehinch (Irish: An Leacht or Irish: Leacht Uí Chonchubhair, meaning 'The Memorial cairn of O'Connor') is a small town on Liscannor Bay, on the northwest coast of County Clare, Ireland. It lies on the N67 national secondary road, between Milltown Malbay and Ennistymon, roughly 75 kilometres (47 mi) by road southwest of Galway and 68 kilometres (42 mi) northwest of Limerick. The town is a seaside resort and is home to the Lahinch Golf Club. It has become a popular surfing location.

Moy House is a Georgian country house hotel in County Clare, Ireland, about 3 kilometres (1.9 mi) south of Lahinch off the N67 road near the village of Moy. Originally set in 15 acres of woodland on the River Moy, it was built in the mid 18th century as the holiday home of Sir Augustine Fitzgerald. Later it was sold to Major Studdert, who gave his name to the bridges over the road and the river in the West Clare Railway. The house was vacant for 10 years, but was purchased by Antoin O'Looney who undertook a three-year restoration of the property.It was voted Country House of the Year by Georgina Campbell's Ireland in 2003.

Dough Castle (Irish: Dumhach Ui Chonchuir – "sandbank of the O'Connors") is a ruined tower house at Lahinch in County Clare, western Ireland. It was established by the O'Conors in the early 14th century, but nothing remains of the original structures.

The Inagh River is a river of County Clare, western Ireland. It takes in the Dealagh River and flows into Liscannor Bay at Lahinch after flowing through Lahinch Golf Course. The ruins of Dough Castle lie on its banks on the golf course, as once also did O'Brien's Castle, and it is crossed by a bridge of the same name.

The Dealagh is a river of County Clare, western Ireland. It converges with the Inagh River at Lahinch Golf Course and flows into Liscannor Bay at Lahinch. The river is popular with anglers fishing trout between March and September.

Liscannor (Irish: Lios Ceannúir, meaning 'ringfort of Ceannúr') is a coastal village in County Clare, Ireland.

Liscannor parish is a parish in County Clare and part of the Kilfenora Deanery of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Galway, Kilmacduagh and Kilfenora. It is bordering the Atlantic Ocean.Current (2021) parish priest is Denis Crosby.The parish is an amalgamation of the mediaeval parishes of Kilmacrehy and Killaspuglonnane.The main church of the parish is the Church of St. Bridget in Liscannor, built in 1858 on the site of an older church. The second church of the parish is the Church of St. Flannan in Moymore. This church was built in 1877.

Clooney (Irish: Cluaine) is a civil parish in County Clare, Ireland. It comprises the hamlets of Clooney (north and south), to the east of Ennistymon.
