Acklam Hall is a Restoration mansion in the former village, and now suburb, of Acklam in Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire, England. It is a Grade I listed building.

St David's School was a Roman Catholic Technology College in Acklam, Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire, England, specialising in Mathematics, Science, Technology (cooking, textiles, electronics & wood work) and ICT. The school was awarded Technology College status in July 2002 and this was renewed for a further four years in 2007. It was also one of very few schools to offer a construction course. The school opened in 1970 as St. George's then it was renamed in 1984 after the amalgamation with St Paul's School, which in turn had been an earlier amalgamation of St Thomas's and St Michael's schools. The last headmaster of St. Davids was Mr Peter Coady who replaced Mr Phillip Tucker. School subjects included Applied business, Art, Design, Technology, rama, EAL (English as an Additional Language), English, Geography, History, ICT, Key Skills, Maths, Media Studies, Modern Languages, Music, PE, RE, Science, SEN (Special Education needs).The school combined with Newlands School FCJ, also in Middlesbrough, in 2009 to form the biggest Roman Catholic School in North East England. The combined school is called Trinity Catholic College. In September 2011 the St David's site was closed down and all pupils transferred to the Newlands site, which is the site of the combined school.

King's Manor School was a secondary school in Acklam, Middlesbrough, England. It merged with Hall Garth Community Arts College in 2010 to create Oakfields Community College.

Outwood Academy Acklam (formerly Oakfields Community College) is a comprehensive secondary school with academy status, located in the Acklam area of Middlesbrough, England. It has a mixed intake of both boy and girls, ages 11–16, with over 1000 pupils on roll as of 2018.The school is operated by Outwood Grange Academies Trust, and the current principal is Graham Skidmore. The school is designated as a National Support School - meaning that it is recognised as a high performing school able to provide support to other schools.

Hall Garth Community Arts College, originally Hall Garth School, was a secondary school in Acklam, Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire, England. The students of the school came from areas with higher than average levels of socio-economic deprivation. The number of students from minority ethnic groups, and those with learning difficulties and disabilities, were well above average.In 2000, it became a performing arts school and, in 2007, was renamed to Hall Garth Community Arts College from Hall Garth School.

Stanley Elton Hollis VC (21 September 1912 – 8 February 1972) was a British recipient of the Victoria Cross, the highest and most prestigious award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces. He had the distinction of receiving the only Victoria Cross awarded on D-Day (6 June 1944).

Kirby College of Further Education, formerly girls-only Kirby Grammar School, is a campus in Linthorpe, Middlesbrough. Founded in 1910 with the benefaction of Alderman Kirby, in its recent history it was part of Middlesbrough College, created via a merger of Kirby and Acklam Sixth Form College. This was further expanded with the inclusion of Teesside Tertiary College in 2002. In summer 2008, the various sites were consolidated onto a single site at Middlehaven.

Acklam Grange School is a co-educational secondary school located at Lodore Grove, Acklam, Middlesbrough, England.The school opened in 1952 as Hugh Bell School – later becoming Stainsby School – and is currently Acklam Grange Secondary School (after Stainsby and Oaklands School amalgamated in 1983 the combined school was renamed Acklam Grange School). It educates pupils Year 7 through Year 11. The current headteacher is Michael Laidler.The school is one of the few in the area that has continued to be a part of the Building Schools for the Future programme after the announced spending cuts by the Government.The school received a Grade 3 (satisfactory) rating from Ofsted in 2012.Previously a community school administered by Middlesbrough Council, in July 2018 Acklam Grange School converted to academy status. The school is now sponsored by The Legacy Learning Trust.

Beverley School is a community special school in Middlesbrough, England. The school supports children with autism and is based in a campus with another school, Hollis Academy (formally Prince Bishop School). Originally opened as a special school for hearing-impaired children back in the mid-1970s, the school began to admit children with autism in the 1980s and is now a regional centre of excellence.Since Easter 2011 Beverley School has shared a campus with Hollis Academy (formerly Prince Bishop School).Headteacher Nigel Carden retired in 2011 and was replaced by Joanne Smith in 2012, following a year where another local special school head teacher stepped in as active head due to the successful candidate for headship accepting the role before later withdrawing at a point where notice periods prevented a suitable replacement being found to begin the next academic year in September 2011. Pippa Irwin took over in September 2020 after Joanne Smith retired.

Linthorpe Cemetery is the oldest working cemetery in Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire, England. The earliest burials in the main cemetery date back to 1869. This 52-acre (21 ha) site is the largest area of woodland in central Middlesbrough. The cemetery contains war graves of 221 Commonwealth service personnel, nearly 160 from the First World War and nearly 60 from the Second World War.Declared a Local Nature Reserve in 2003, it provides a semi-natural habitat that supports a range of wildlife, particularly birds, including tawny owl, great spotted woodpecker and treecreeper. The cemetery encompasses a Quaker burial ground, situated just off Ayresome Green Lane, in which the burials date back to 1668. From 2005 to 2007 the cemetery underwent a £1.7 million restoration programme, funded by Middlesbrough Council and the Heritage Lottery Fund, which included; restoring the Mortuary Chapel for use by the Friends of Linthorpe Cemetery as an exhibition space, converting of the Hebrew Prayer House into an educational and community space, improving the path network and cemetery boundaries, tree and hedgerow planting, and cast iron benches specially designed by local children depicting the theme of 'Flora and Fauna of Linthorpe Cemetery'.
