Tilkka Hospital (Finnish: Tilkan sairaala, Swedish: Tilkka sjukhus; often referred to simply as Tilkka) is a former military hospital in Helsinki, Finland. It is located at Mannerheimintie 164 in the Pikku Huopalahti district.Tilkka military hospital was founded in 1918 and moved to Pikku Huopalahti in 1936 when the new nine-storey Functionalist building designed by architect Olavi Sortta was completed. The building's distinctive mark are the semi-circular balconies, facing south around the main stairway. Patient rooms were concentrated on the top seven floors, providing patients with light, ventilation and a scenic view. Service rooms were located across the central corridor.Tilkka was expanded in the 1960s with a five-storey enlargement, an office wing and another low wing that housed for instance a military pharmacy. The expansion was also designed by Sortta and the enlargement followed the space division of the original 1930s building.The military hospital operated until 2005 when the Finnish Defence Forces vacated the building following an organizational transformation that outsourced the military's special health care. The State of Finland sold the building to pension insurance company Etera for 8.8 million euros in October 2006 after which it was renovated into an elderly nursing home. The nursing home is operated by nursing service provider Esperi Care and houses 150 residents.The National Board of Antiquities has listed Tilkka as a nationally significant built cultural heritage site and Docomomo has selected the building as a significant example of modern architecture in Finland. The building is protected by a 2002 zoning ordinance and cannot be torn down or altered in a way that damages its cultural historical value.

Ruskeasuo (Brunakärr in Swedish, verbatim "Brown swamp") is a neighbourhood of Helsinki (Helsingfors in Swedish), about 3 kilometres north of the city center. With a population of 2670 (year 2005) Ruskeasuo is a rather quiet residential area. Buildings by Mannerheimintie are typically 6-8 floors high from 1950s. Between Mannerheimintie and Central Park, low-rise buildings are dominant. The equestrian dressage and eventing competitions for the 1952 Summer Olympics took place at their sports hall.

Radio Dei (English: Radio God) is a Christian radio station in Finland. It broadcasts on 89.0 MHz in the Greater Helsinki metropolitan area, and simulcasts on other frequencies in most other major Finnish cities. Radio Dei also simulcasts over the Internet, through its website.

The English School (Helsinki) is a private international school in Helsinki, Finland. It is a bilingual school, so most students can graduate according to Finnish and English school systems in the time students in either country would normally study according to their own system only. The English School (TES) offers instruction in 2-year preschool/Kindergarten (5-6-years-olds), comprehensive school (classes 1-9) and high school. The curriculum follows the national guidelines, but places a special emphasis on both English and Finnish languages. The school was founded by Catholic nuns in 1945.

St. Mary Catholic Parish (Finnish: Pyhän Marian kirkko, Swedish: Sankta Maria kyrka) is a Roman Catholic parish based in the Meilahti neighborhood of Helsinki, Finland. Pastoral care is entrusted to the Priests of the Sacred Heart.Like other Finnish Catholic parishes, which are all part of the Diocese of Helsinki, the area served by the parish is broad, stretching from the western extent of Uusimaa to Riihimäki to Hanko. The parish area includes the diocesan retreat center, Stella Maris; the diocesan broadcaster, Redemptoris Mater; and the Carmelite convent in Espoo. The vast majority of parishioners reside in Greater Helsinki, including many foreigners; regular services are held in Swedish, English, Vietnamese, Polish, Spanish, and German as well as Finnish.St. Mary's was established in 1954, the second Catholic congregation in the western Helsinki area to be established since the Protestant Reformation. Bishop Willem Cobben consecrated the parish church on December 6, 1954, whose facilities include a church hall and rectory. A parochial school was opened the same year.

Metropolia University of Applied Sciences (Finnish: Metropolia Ammattikorkeakoulu) is the largest University of Applied Sciences in Finland situated in Helsinki metropolitan area. The university has four fields of study: culture, business, health care and social services, and technology. Teaching is also provided in English. The number of students is 16,200 and the staff about 930. In the year 2019 nearly 2,794 Bachelor's and 477 Master's students graduated from Metropolia.

Huopalahti (Swedish: Hoplax) was a municipality during the years 1920–1945 in Uusimaa, Finland. The municipality was bilingual. Current areas of Munkkiniemi, Lauttasaari and parts of northern Pasila were parts of Huopalahti. The area was separated from former Helsinki parish in 1920. Haaga was part of the municipality, but was separated from it in 1923. The Finnish National Defence University, that was moved to Munkkiniemi in 1923, was located in Huopalahti. In 1946, the municipality was consolidated to Helsinki. The Finnish Hunting Society which is headquartered in the city hosted the shotgun shooting events for the 1952 Summer Olympics.

The Biomedicum Helsinki is a research and teaching center located in the Meilahti district of Helsinki, Finland. It contains two buildings (Biomedicum Helsinki 1 and 2), and features research and teaching facilities of the University of Helsinki's Faculty of Medicine, the Helsinki University Central Hospital, the EMBL Nordic partner Finnish Institute for Molecular Medicine, the Folkhälsan Research Center, the Minerva Foundation Institute for Medical Research, the Wihuri Research Institute, and several companies in the life science field.Building 1 was completed in 2001 and Building 2 in 2008. A bridge named in honor of Konrad ReijoWaara (1853-1936), a prominent figure in the Medical Association Duodecim and the first editor-in-chief of the magazine of the same name, connects the buildings. The use of the buildings are coordinated by the Biomedicum Helsinki Foundation, which also funds research activities in the field of medicine.

Niemenmäki (Swedish: Näshöjden) is a quarter of the Munkkiniemi neighbourhood in Helsinki. Niemenmäki was constructed in the early 1960s. The nearby Shopping center provides everyday services to Niemenmäki inhabitants. Huopalahdentie road separates Niemenmäki from Munkkivuori in the West and Lapinmäentie road from Haaga in the North. Allotment gardens separate Niemenmäki both from Pikku Huopalahti in the East and from Vanha Munkkiniemi in the South.

The Meilahti Campus (Finnish: Meilahden kampus, Swedish: Campus Mejlans) is a campus area of the University of Helsinki in Finland. It houses the Faculty of Medicine and many medical research institutions. Several hospitals are also concentrated in the area.

Helsingin Suomalainen Yhteiskoulu, commonly abbreviated SYK (English: "Helsinki Finnish co-educational school"), is a free elementary, middle and high school in the Etelä-Haaga district of Helsinki, Finland.
