Railtown 1897 State Historic Park

Track Bus No. 19 is a motorized rail car built on a White Motor Company standard truck chassis. It was built by Thomson-Graf-Edler in 1919 for the Hetch Hetchy Railroad and used as an ambulance to transport sick, injured or dead workers, and to carry passengers. An additional five similar railcars were ordered, none were exactly the same. The car sat unused after it was moved to Modesto, then was restored and displayed at the Yosemite Transportation Museum in El Portal. In 1997 No. 19 was donated to Railtown 1897 State Historic Park in Jamestown California.

The Emporium is a historic commercial building erected in 1897 in Jamestown, California. It was built as a department store which was short-lived, in the early 20th century served as a mercantile and telephone exchange, and from 1936 until 1967 it operated as a grocery store. It has been listed in the National Register of Historic Places since February 17, 1978, for architecture and historical significance for the region; is also listed as a California Historical Landmark since February 17, 1978; and has a historical marker erected since 2007 by the Tuolumne County Historical Society. The building now serves as an antiques shop and cafe.

Jamestown is a census-designated place (CDP) in Tuolumne County, California, United States. The population was 3,433 at the 2010 census, up from 3,017 at the 2000 census. Formerly a California Gold Rush town, Jamestown is a California Historical Landmark since March 16, 1949. It is the home of Railtown 1897 State Historic Park and the Sierra Railway, which operates steam passenger trains.

Table Mountain is a series of flat-topped hills in Tuolumne County, California that roughly parallels the modern Stanislaus River. These hills are capped by lava which flowed down from the crest of the Sierra Nevada 10.4 million years ago and hardened into a rock (latite) that is relatively resistant to erosion. The top of Table Mountain is composed of Table Mountain Latite, which formed from potassium-rich lavas erupted from a center of volcanism near modern-day Sonora Pass around 10.4 million years ago. Most outcrops on Table Mountain reveal flow-top breccias, while some outcrops show distinctive columnar jointing.

The Chicken Ranch Casino Resort is a casino resort in Tuolumne County, California, United States. Founded in 1985 as the bingo hall Chicken Ranch Bingo Palace, it is owned by the Chicken Ranch Rancheria of Me-Wuk Indians of California. The venue installed its earliest casino-like machines in 2000 and went through a remodeling in 2011 to have a Western theme. The casino underwent a $325 million extension in 2024. The new nine-story resort had 197 hotel rooms and several restaurants including a Wahlburgers. The new gaming facility added 900 slot machines and 14 table games.

The Chicken Ranch Rancheria of Me-Wuk Indians of California is a federally recognized tribe of Miwok people in Tuolumne County, California. The Chicken Ranch Rancheria Miwok are central Sierra Miwok, an Indigenous people of California.

The Sonora Hebrew Cemetery, also known as Pioneer Jewish Cemetery, is an inactive Jewish cemetery founded in c. 1851, and located in Sonora, California. This was the first Jewish cemetery in the Gold Rush region.

The Superior Court of California, County of Tuolumne, also known as the Tuolumne County Superior Court, is the branch of the California superior court with jurisdiction over Tuolumne County.

St. James' Episcopal Church, also known as The Red Church, is an historic Episcopal church building, formerly Anglican, located at 42 Snell Street, in Sonora, California. Built in 1859 in the Carpenter Gothic style, its board and batten exterior walls are of California redwood and are painted red. It was consecrated in 1870 by the Rt. Rev. William Ingraham Kip, first bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of California. Reportedly the seventh Episcopal parish as well as the oldest Episcopal church building in California, it has been designated California Historical Landmark No. 139.St. James' took place in the Anglican realignment in the United States, leaving the Episcopal Church and adopting the name of St. James' Anglican Church, then a parish of the Anglican Diocese of San Joaquin and of the Anglican Church in North America. Its previous rector was the Rev. Wolfgang E. Krismanits, who died in a car crash, with his wife, on 27 November 2012.A schism occurred over various theological issues and a number of the churches in the diocese dissolved their affiliation with The Episcopal Church. They accepted oversight by the province of the Southern Cone, in South America. A number of Episcopalians wished to remain with the Church. These faithful, with the assistance of the governing bodies of The Episcopal Church, reorganized the diocese. On March 29, 2008, a Special Convention was held, led by the Presiding Bishop of The Episcopal Church, The Most Rev. Katharine Jefferts Schori. The Rt. Rev. Jerry Lamb became the first provisional bishop. After much time, litigation, and negotiation, St. James', popularly known as “The Red Church” returned to the Episcopal Church. The first service as St. James Episcopal Church was held on July 7, 2013, at 10:00 a.m.

Sonora is the county seat of Tuolumne County, California, United States. Founded during the California Gold Rush by Mexican miners from Sonora (after which the city is named), the city population was 5,121 during the 2020 Census, an increase from the 4,903 counted during the 2010 Census.Sonora is the only incorporated community in Tuolumne County.

The City Hotel in Sonora, California is a former hotel in downtown Sonora at 145 South Washington Street. The building, constructed circa 1852, is associated with Alonzo Green, Sonora's mayor in 1852 and 1853, and James Lane. It includes a sitting room, bar and restaurant with rooms upstairs. It is built of slate, adobe, and red brick, and is one of Sonora's oldest buildings. It belonged to Olivier Bemis in the 1860s. In the early 1900s, the hotel ran a daily horse-pulled-bus service to meet trains. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places for Tuolumne County, California in 1983.

Paulsell Valley is an American Viticultural Area (AVA) located within Paulsell Valley, in Stanislaus County, California. The Paulsell Valley occupies some of the first rises out of the San Joaquin Valley floor, and, as such, is described as part of the foothills of the Sierra Nevada. The appellation was established as the nation's 264th, the state's 145th and county's fourth AVA on June 3, 2022 by the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB), Treasury after reviewing the petition submitted by Patrick L. Shabram on behalf of Rock Ridge Ranch proposing the establishment of a viticultural area named "Paulsell Valley." The Paulsell Valley viticultural area encompasses approximately 34,155 acres (53 sq mi) and home to three vineyards cultivating about 864 acres (350 ha) with a fourth vineyard of approximately 700 acres (280 ha) currently planned. The Paulsell Valley is not currently within or adjacent to any existing AVA. The closest existing AVA is Sierra Foothills located approximately one mile (1.6 km) to the northeast at its closest location. The plant hardiness zone is 9b.
