Broadstone, Dublin

Blessington Street Basin (Irish: Báisín Shráid Bhaile Coimín) is a drinking water reservoir in Dublin which operated from 1810 until the 1970s, serving the north city. It became a public park in 1994.

The siege of Dublin took place in 1649 during the Irish Confederate Wars. It was a failed attempt by combined Irish Royalist and Confederate forces to capture the capital of Dublin which was held by English Republican forces under Michael Jones. It was part of a strategy by Duke of Ormonde, head of an alliance loyal to Charles II, to seize the remaining foothold of Ireland still under the control of the London Parliament. The siege was abandoned following a decisive defeat at the Battle of Rathmines, followed soon afterwards by the arrival of Oliver Cromwell and fresh reinforcements.

Cineworld Dublin is the biggest cinema in Ireland, with 4 floors and 17 screens. It is located on Parnell Street, Dublin and is owned by the Cineworld cinema chain. It was opened by Virgin Cinemas in 1995 as Virgin Cinemas Dublin, the only cinema that was opened by Virgin Cinemas in Ireland. In 1999, the Virgin Group sold Virgin Cinemas to French cinema chain, UGC. All Virgin Cinemas were rebranded as UGC and Virgin Cinemas Dublin was renamed UGC Dublin in 1999. The current front entrance was originally opened as a separate IMAX 70mm cinema in about 1998. It was bought by the UGC cinema next door and converted into UGC's replacement front entrance. The one IMAX screen was converted into 5+ extra cinemas (to add to UGC's existing screens), a bar, shop, and ticketing area. In 2012 screen 17 on the top floor was refurbished to support digital IMAX (smaller, lower resolution than 70mm IMAX film). It is considerably smaller in size than the original IMAX screen housed by the building. In 2004, UGC's UK and Ireland operations were taken over by Cineworld. In 2005, the UGC cinemas in the UK and Ireland were rebranded as Cineworld. UGC Dublin was renamed Cineworld Dublin.

The Dublin International Film Festival, known for sponsorship reasons as the Virgin Media Dublin International Film Festival (VMDIFF), is a film festival held in Dublin, Ireland, since 2003.

The Noyeks fire was a fatal fire that took place at the Noyeks timber factory on Parnell St, Dublin, Ireland on 27 March 1972, and claimed the lives of 8 people; seven women and one man who died in the inferno.On the morning of the fire, the central heating was out of order and mobile gas heaters had been hired to provide heat. The fire is believed to have started when, on the Monday afternoon, a can of highly inflammable adhesive used to stick cork flooring was knocked over beside one of the heaters. The volatile fumes ignited and fire exploded into the three-story building. RTÉ One aired a television programme, programme one of its Disasters series, about the Noyeks fire using archive footage with interviews of with eyewitnesses and relatives of the dead.

Jervis Street Hospital (Irish: Ospidéal Shráid Jervis) was a hospital in Jervis Street in Dublin, Ireland. The site of the hospital became the Jervis Shopping Centre.

Mary Street is a street in Dublin in the Republic of Ireland on the northside of the city.

St. Mary's Church, Dublin is a former Church of Ireland building on the corner of Mary Street and Jervis Street, Dublin, and adjacent to Wolfe Tone Square. From the 17th century the church was a place of worship for parishioners on Dublin's north-side, before it was closed in 1986. The church has since been deconsecrated and the building is now a pub and restaurant. The parish also had a chapel of ease - St Mary's - off Dorset Street, more commonly known as "The Black Church".

Dominick (Irish: Doiminic) is a stop on the Luas light-rail tram system in Dublin, Ireland. It opened in 2017 as a stop on Luas Cross City, an extension of the Green Line through the city centre from St. Stephen's Green to Broombridge. It is located on Dominick Street Lower and provides access to Rotunda Hospital, 14 Henrietta Street, and the Dublin Institute of Technology Bolton Street Campus. It is one of only three Luas stops with an island platform. To the south of the stop, trams turn left onto Parnell street on their way into the city centre. To the north, they continue along Dominick street towards Broadstone, on their way to Broombridge.

Wolfe Tone Park (Irish: Páirc Wolfe Tone), also known as Wolfe Tone Square, is a public space in Dublin, Ireland. It is bounded by Mary Street to the north, Jervis Street to the east, and Wolfe Tone Street to the west. The park is the site of a graveyard that was attached to St. Mary's Church, and is named for Theobald Wolfe Tone (1763–1798), who was baptised in the church. The graveyard was deconsecrated in 1966 and laid out as a green park. From 1998 to 2001, Dublin City Council redeveloped the park as an "urban plaza". The park was closed for further regeneration works in late 2020, and reopened in mid-2022.

The Jervis Shopping Centre is a major shopping centre in Dublin, Ireland. Opened in 1996, the centre is located in the area bordered by Jervis Street, Upper Abbey Street, Mary Street, and Liffey Street. The centre has a total of 70 stores including clothing, food and electrical outlets.
