Zip.ca was an online DVD rental and movie rental kiosk company operating in Canada. It had a database of over 82,000 unique titles. Zip.ca was a member of the privately held Momentous Group of companies and was the owner of the Ottawa Rapidz baseball team until its first-season bankruptcy.On August 17, 2014, Zip.ca announced on its website that it was closing its doors and was no longer shipping discs to its members.

Country Place is a residential neighbourhood near the geographical centre of Ottawa, Canada, in Knoxdale-Merivale Ward. Prior to 2001, it was part of the former city of Nepean. It is a mature residential subdivision with about 400 houses located just inside the Ottawa greenbelt near the Rideau River, and about 11 km from downtown Ottawa. It is bordered by the Black Rapids Creek and the greenbelt to the south, Prince of Wales Drive to the east, Merivale Road to the west, and the Pineglen community to the north. Amberwood Crescent meanders through the community, exiting onto Prince of Wales and Merivale. Tennyson Drive links Country Place to Pineglen. Houses in Country Place were built mostly in the early 1970s and are similar in size and design. The only exceptions are houses on Campfield Ct. which was built in the 1980s on land that had originally been set aside for a possible school. The community has an active community association that runs events several times a year, maintains an outdoor rink in the winter, and helps promote the interests of the residents. Country Place is within the Knoxdale-Merivale Ward of the City of Ottawa.

The Canadian Northern Ontario Railway Bridge is a railway plate girder bridge over the Rideau River from the Merivale area to the Mooney's Bay neighbourhood in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It is owned today by the CNoR's successor Canadian National Railway, and amongst other services carries the Via Rail Toronto – Ottawa Corridor passenger trains. The official designation of the bridge is Mile 5.8, subdivision Beachburg.

St. Stefan Serbian Orthodox Church (Ottawa), part of the Serbian Orthodox Eparchy of Canada, is located at 1989 Prince of Wales Drive in Nepean (Ottawa), the home of the Ottawa Serbian Church School Congregation and Community centre.Today there are 2,000 families that call St. Stefan Serbian Orthodox Church their spiritual home. The majority of its members are of the first and second-generation, of course, though there are also those of the fourth and fifth-generation Canadians of Serbian descent. In 2021, a second Serbian Orthodox Church was inaugurated—The Meeting of the Lord—situated on Holland Avenue in Ottawa.

The 1994 du Maurier Classic was contested from August 25–28 at Ottawa Hunt and Golf Club. It was the 22nd edition of the du Maurier Classic, and the 16th edition as a major championship on the LPGA Tour. This event was won by Martha Nause.

Founded 115 years ago in 1908 as a hunting club, it has hosted many world-class professional and amateur golf tournaments, along with many high-profile Canadian curling events.

Nepean Creek Park is a linear watershed park, in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It is part of the Greenbelt master plan of the National Capital Commission. It runs East-West along North Colonnade Road for more than a kilometre. The park is located about two kilometres South of Hog's Back Falls.

L'École secondaire publique Omer-Deslauriers is a French public school in the west of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The school's enrolment is approximately 600 students. The school building formerly housed J.S. Woodsworth Secondary School, which was part of the Ottawa School Board / Ottawa-Carleton District School Board, until it closed in 2003. The school was initially known as École Champlain, then from 1999 to 2002 it was called École de l'Ouest, and was finally renamed to honour Omer Deslauriers (died 1999), an Ontarian educator and public serviceman who promoted establishment of several Francophone schools in Ottawa in the 1960s.The school is part of the International Baccalaureate's World Schools; it offers both the Middle Years Program (grades 7 to 10) and Diploma Program (grades 11 and 12). Students require a minimum of 80% in order to join and/or to stay in either program. The high school also offers a construction specialization and a communications programme. Other than that, this school offers two Specialist High Skills Major, one for construction and one for information and communication technologies. In 2005–2006, the school's basketball team was the first francophone high school to win a bronze medal at the OFSAA AA Provincial Tournament. They also won the school spirit award. The school has many athletic programs, and like many Francophone schools has an improvisational comedy team.

The Ottawa Catholic School Board (OCSB, known as English-language Separate District School Board No. 53 prior to 1999) is a publicly funded separate school board in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Its headquarters are in the Nepean area of Ottawa.It employs approximately 4,777 people (Full-time equivalents) and operates 84 schools in the greater Ottawa area, with a total student population of approximately 44,200. Before 2007, the board was known as Ottawa-Carleton Catholic School Board (OCCSB) and its two former boards prior to 1998, Carleton Roman Catholic Separate School Board (CRCSSB) and Ottawa Roman Catholic Separate School Board (ORCSSB).

Canadian Forces Base Uplands (also CFB Uplands) was a Canadian Forces Base located in Ottawa, Ontario. Most of the land which formed the base was transferred to the Ottawa Macdonald–Cartier International Airport after the base was closed in the 1990s. Several military units continue to exist at the former base and the Canadian Forces continues to maintain military housing at the site. The former base is now known formally as "Canadian Forces Support Unit (Ottawa) - Uplands Site."

Merivale High School is a public high school in the Borden Farm neighbourhood of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The school is known for its International Baccalaureate student program, but also runs French Immersion programs and visual art, music, and co-operative education programs. Despite being designed for over two thousand students, Merivale High School's population fell to an all-time low of 650 students for the 2013–14 school year. This is attributed to changing neighbourhood demographics, as well as new schools in the subdivision of Barrhaven. It was announced in October 2016 that Merivale High School would add both grades 7 and 8 to increase student enrollment for the 2017–18 school year. With the addition of grade 7 and 8 students from various feeder schools, the student body increased to around 1200.
