The Queen City Yacht Club (QCYC) is a maritime-themed club based in Toronto, Ontario. It is located on Algonquin Island in the Toronto Islands, and has been a part of Toronto's sailing community since it was founded in 1889. Toronto at the time was known as the "Queen City of the Lake". The original clubhouse was located on the city side of Toronto Harbour, at the foot of York Street.

Berczy Park is a small (3,606 square metres (0.891 acres)) park in downtown Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The park is triangular in shape, bounded by Scott Street, Front Street and Wellington Street. The park is bordered at its eastern tip, where Wellington and Front join, by the Gooderham Building, a heritage building that is an example of a "flatiron building". A widely admired mural graces the western facade of the building. The park is named after William Berczy, an architect and surveyor, who worked with John Graves Simcoe, the first Governor of Upper Canada, in founding its capital, York, Upper Canada, the town that grew into Toronto.

The Dixon Building (number 49) and Griffiths Building (number 47) are parts of a heritage building located on Front Street, Toronto, Ontario. The 3+1⁄2-storey building is an example of Second Empire architecture and was constructed in 1872-3 according to the designs of Walter Strickland. The building is thought to be one of the few remaining structures in Ontario with a cast-iron facade. The facade of the building is protected by an Ontario Heritage Trust conservation easement. The property is also designated by the City of Toronto under Part IV of the Ontario Heritage Act (By-law 429-78).

Meridian Hall is a major performing arts venue in Toronto, Ontario, and it is the country's largest soft-seat theatre. The facility was constructed for the City of Toronto municipal government and is currently managed by TO Live, an arms-length agency and registered charity created by the city. Located at 1 Front Street East, the venue opened as the O'Keefe Centre on October 1, 1960. From 1996 to 2007, the building was known as the Hummingbird Centre for the Performing Arts. From 2007 to 2019, it was known as the Sony Centre for the Performing Arts. On September 15, 2019, it was re-branded as Meridian Hall. In 2008, the City of Toronto designated the theatre a heritage building. That year, it also underwent renovations to restore its iconic features such as the marquee canopy and York Wilson's lobby mural, The Seven Lively Arts. Restoration of the wood, brass and marble that were hallmarks of the original facility was undertaken, along with audience seating, flooring upgrades, new washrooms and reconfigured lobby spaces. Following two years of renovations and restoration work, the building reopened its doors on October 1, 2010, fifty years to the date of the first opening night performance.

The Coffin Block Building at Front and Church streets was the first flatiron building in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The 3-storey Georgian structure was built some time before 1838 (based on a Bartlett print of the building drawn in 1838) and in 1845 became an annex to The Wellington hotel on Church Street. The basement housed the office of the William Weller (of Cobourg) Stagecoach Company from 1830 to 1835. The stage coach office at the apex of the building was added later. A business under the name J.M. McCuaig was located in the building as well. The M & L Samuel Company (now Samuel, Son & Co.) were based out of the building from 1855 until 1881.The unique shape of the building was due to the intersecting roads of Front Street and Wellington Street at Church Street. The building is also seen in a Bartlett print, "Fish Market", from 1839 to 1842. Further research dates it to the early 1830s.In the 1890s, it was replaced with the Gooderhams' Flatiron Building.

The Gooderham Building, also known as the Flatiron Building, is an historic office building at 49 Wellington Street East in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It is located on the eastern edge of the city's Financial District (east of Yonge Street) in the St. Lawrence neighbourhood, wedged between Front Street and Wellington Street in Downtown Toronto, where they join up to form a triangular intersection. Completed in 1892, the red-brick edifice was an early example of a prominent flatiron building. The Gooderham Building is the focal point of one of Toronto's most iconic vistas: looking west down Front Street towards the building's prominent rounded corner, framed on the sides by the heritage commercial blocks along Front Street, and with the skyscrapers of the Financial District towering in the background. The CN Tower is also visible from certain angles behind Brookfield Place. This vista frequently appears in imagery of the city.

The L Tower (also known as the Libeskind Tower) is a residential skyscraper in Toronto, Ontario, Canada designed by architect Daniel Libeskind. The project, which broke ground in mid-October 2009, saw many delays. One cause for delay was a stop-work order caused by safety concerns about the crane at the top of the building. The crane was also an eyesore for many residents. Despite the cranes (which were removed by May 2016 and September 2018 respectively), the building still won the eighth place Emporis Skyscraper Award in 2017.In the 2000s, the Sony Centre (then known as the Hummingbird Centre) was expected to be demolished and the land sold; however, Hummingbird Centre CEO Dan Brambilla convinced the city to preserve the site and approve the condo development.

The Milburn building was built in 1886 at 47-55 Colborne Street, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, by architect Edward James Lennox. Lennox was well known for his work in Toronto for his work on more famous buildings like Casa Loma and Toronto's old city hall. The Milburn building was originally constructed to serve as a warehouse for a wholesaler of patent medicines. The block on the south side of Colborne Street between Church Street and Leader Lane remains in use, and the storefronts house restaurants.Marilyn M. Litvak, in Edward James Lennox: Builder of Toronto, described the building as "Romanesque Revival".

The Board of Trade Building was one of the first skyscrapers in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Completed in 1892 on the corner of Front Street East and Yonge Street, the seven storey tower was home to the Toronto Board of Trade and the Toronto Transit Commission. The building was designed by the American architectural firm of James & James of New York City, and closely resembled the appearance of the Flour and Grain Exchange Building in Boston, Massachusetts, which had been designed two years earlier by the Boston firm of Shepley, Rutan & Coolidge. That Boston firm was also credited with the plans for the Montreal Board of Trade Building. There was considerable controversy about the award of the design contract; the Board of Trade wanted to build a skyscraper like those in New York, Chicago and Boston, and they favoured an American architect over Canadian-based ones, supposedly on the basis of experience with tall buildings. The first design by James & James of New York partially collapsed during construction. James & James were dismissed from the job and Edward A. Kent, an architect from Buffalo, N.Y., was called in to complete the building following the plans of James & James. The Board of Trade Building was soon eclipsed in height in 1894 by the Beard Building and then in 1895 by the ten-story Temple Building on Bay Street.It was demolished in 1958. The lot is now occupied by the EDS office tower.

Colborne Street is a street running several hundred metres east of Yonge Street in downtown Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It crosses Victoria Street and Leader Lane, ending at Church Street. It is located between and parallel to King Street East and Wellington Street East. The street is notable for retaining several historic buildings built during the reign of Queen Victoria.In 1822, a two-storey building, Masonic Hall, with a cupola was built on what is now Colborne Street.The 15 storey Trader’s Bank Building at the corner of Colborne and Yonge streets was the tallest building in the British Empire when it was built in 1906.In 1914, the King Edward Hotel requested a permit to build a pedestrian bridge across Colborne Street to an annex on the south side.
