Broadneck High School is a school in the United States, located in Anne Arundel County, Maryland on Green Holly Drive, on the border between Arnold and Cape St. Claire, suburbs of Annapolis. The Bruin is the school's mascot. Broadneck is part of the Anne Arundel County Public Schools system and known for the breadth of its Advanced Placement program, among its higher-level courses such as Linear Algebra. It has been the test school for courses such as Calculus III and offers options to take classes at the nearby Anne Arundel Community College and CAT-South schools. The current BHS feeder middle schools are Severn River Middle School and Magothy River Middle School.

The Broadneck Peninsula is an area in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. The area is north of the Severn River, south of the Magothy River and west of the Chesapeake Bay. At the lower end of the Broadneck Peninsula is the 4.3 mile Chesapeake Bay Bridge.

The McMullen Hockey Arena is a 1,000-seat ice hockey rink, located on the campus of the United States Naval Academy (USNA) in Annapolis, Maryland and is named for Dr. John J. McMullen, Naval Academy Class of 1940. It is home to the USNA's Navy Midshipmen ice hockey teams, currently competing at the ACHA Division I level in the Eastern Collegiate Hockey Association and the Eastern Collegiate Women's Hockey League. The arena features a regulation, Olympic-sized ice sheet for ice hockey, seating for around 1,000 spectators, and room for expansion up to 3,000 spectators. In addition, the ice arena meets NCAA Division I standards.McMullen Hockey Arena was built in 2007 as part of the Thornton D. and Elizabeth S. Hooper Brigade Sports Complex, which also includes the Tose Family Tennis Center, rugby venues, an indoor hitting, chipping and putting facility for the golf team and club members, the pro shop for the golf course, a fitness center, athletic training rooms, locker rooms, office space, meeting rooms, and a restaurant.

Cape St. Claire, a suburb of Annapolis, is a covenanted, unincorporated community as well as a census-designated place (CDP) in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, United States. While the community of Cape St. Claire lies entirely within the CDP and accounts for approximately 80% of the homes and residents, the CDP also includes the smaller communities of Atlantis, Walnut Ridge, Green Holly, and St. Claire Court. The population of the CDP was 8,747 at the 2010 census.Contained within Cape St. Claire are three marinas, multiple parks and beaches, a shopping center, Broadneck High School, Cape St. Claire Elementary School, The Harbour School, and Cape St. Claire Swim Club. Fire protection is provided by the Cape St. Claire Volunteer Fire Company. There are many churches located in the community including: Broadneck Baptist Church, Cape St. Claire United Methodist Church and Christ Our Anchor Presbyterian Church and Saint Andrew By the Bay Roman Catholic Church.

The Battle of the Severn was a skirmish fought on March 25, 1655, on the Severn River at Horn Point, across Spa Creek from Annapolis, Maryland, in what at that time was referred to as the Puritan settlement of "Providence", and what is now the neighborhood of Eastport. It was an extension of the conflicts that formed the English Civil War, pitting the forces of Puritan settlers against forces aligned with Lord Baltimore, then Lord Proprietor of the colony of Maryland. It has been suggested by Radmila May that this was the "last battle of the English Civil War."

Jonas Green Park is a public recreation area on the Severn River owned and operated by Anne Arundel County, Maryland. The park sits at the east end of the Naval Academy Bridge on Maryland Route 450 just outside the city of Annapolis. The former state park bears the name of Jonas Green, Maryland’s public printer during the colonial period. It was turned over to the county in 2009. The park offers a visitors center, cartop boat launch site, and fishing pier. It is the southern terminus of the Baltimore & Annapolis Trail.

Fort Nonsense is a historic earthen fortification at Annapolis, Maryland. It consists of two arcs of embankments and ditches that date at least to the early 19th century. It is located near 38.9874°N 76.4698°W / 38.9874; -76.4698 on a hilltop which has remained undisturbed by the surrounding Annapolis Naval Ship Research and Development Center. It is the last vestige of Annapolis Harbor fortifications.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.

The U.S. Naval Academy Bridge is a bridge that crosses the Severn River in Annapolis, Maryland. It is located downriver from the Severn River Bridge and adjacent to the United States Naval Academy. Its predecessor, a bascule bridge, once served as the main point of entry into Annapolis from both Ritchie Highway and the ferry to the Eastern Shore prior to the construction of the John Hanson Highway and the current Severn River Bridge. In 1994, the deteriorating bascule bridge was replaced with the current crossing. The bridge's design was the winning entry of a bridge design competition, and was officially named the U.S. Naval Academy Bridge in honor of the Naval Academy's 150th anniversary. The Naval Academy Bridge is part of Maryland Route 450 and provides an alternative entrance to the Naval Academy, avoiding downtown Annapolis.

Whitehall is a colonial home that was built beginning in 1764 near Annapolis in Anne Arundel County in the Province of Maryland by Horatio Sharpe, then the provincial governor of the British colony of Maryland. The house is located about 7.5 miles (12.1 km) to the east of Annapolis on a peninsula between Whitehall Creek and Meredith Creek, opposite Sharpe's Point on a branch of Chesapeake Bay. The site, originally comprised about 1,000 acres (400 ha). The house is a five-part Georgian mansion of great length, only one room deep in the main section. It features elaborate original interior woodwork, attributed to William Buckland, and is one of only two pre-Revolutionary houses in the Thirteen Colonies to have a temple portico. It was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1960.

The Glenn Warner Soccer Facility is a soccer-specific stadium at the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. The college soccer facility is named for beloved longtime coach Glenn Warner. It was the site of Crystal Palace Baltimore's first-ever match, a 3–1 loss to its parent club on July 15, 2006.

The Triton Light is a navigational beacon on the seawall of the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, where the Severn River meets Spa Creek and the Annapolis harbor. It was donated to the Academy and named for the Greek god by the Class of 1945. It is not only an important part of the culture and traditions of the Naval Academy, but also is a trusted navigational point in Annapolis Harbor (e.g., 33 CFR 110.159). About a year after the light was installed, USS Triton (SSRN-586) completed her historic submerged circumnavigation. Considering the coincidence of names, the crew of Triton provided samples of water from the 22 seas through which their boat had passed, which were used to fill a globe built into the light. The characteristics of this light are FL (4+5) G 30s, that is Flashing Green light 4x, then 5x, every 30 seconds. The characteristics of the odd number sequence is unique, an honor to commemorate the Class of 1945. The seawall on the Severn River from Triton Light north-west to the end of Simms Rd at College Creek is exactly 1/2 nautical mile, thus it is frequently used to calibrate speed instruments on boats.

The Little Magothy River runs 2.5 miles (4.0 km) through Anne Arundel County in the U.S. state of Maryland. It is located southeast of the Magothy River, just outside its mouth and north of the Severn River. A small, mostly tidal river, the Little Magothy's watershed (not including the water surface) covers an area of 2.2 square miles (5.7 km2). All mailing addresses in the watershed are in the Annapolis zip code, and the entire watershed is within Anne Arundel County, on the north side of the Broadneck Peninsula. It is bordered on the west by the community of Cape Saint Claire, and on the east by houses and farms along Bay Head Road. It runs just west of Sandy Point State Park. It starts near College Parkway and US 50/301, just north of the Whitehall Creek watershed (which is part of the Severn River watershed that drains to Whitehall Bay), and it flows north into the Chesapeake Bay south of Gibson Island. It has one named nontidal creek that drains into its upper end, Cat Branch, which flows under Cape Saint Claire Road. According to "My River Speaks," p. 141, Cat Branch was dammed in the mid-18th century to supply water through a canal to a mill in the upper Whitehall Creek watershed (part of the Severn River watershed). The 6.5 miles of Chesapeake shoreline including the Little Magothy River and stretching to Sandy Point, all well beyond the official mouth of the Magothy (which is 325 meters south of the southern tip of Gibson Island) are not in the Magothy drainage basin but are often included in county and state government studies of the Magothy watershed.
