Seatuck National Wildlife Refuge

Wereholme, also known as the Harold H. Weekes Estate, and the Scully Estate, is a historic estate located at Islip in Suffolk County, New York. The mansion was built in 1917 in the French Provincial style for Lousine Peters and her husband Harold H. Weekes.It was designed by architect Grosvenor Atterbury (1869–1956) and is a "L" shaped structure built of concrete block. It is three stories high with a hipped roof and the servants' wing is two stories with a clipped cross-gable roof. Also on the property are two garages, greenhouse, barrel vaulted dovecote, and entrance pillars from South Bay Avenue.

The Moorings is a guard-gated private community in the unincorporated East Islip hamlet of Suffolk County, New York and is not a census-designated place (CDP) within itself. It is situated on Long Island's Great South Bay.

Champlin Creek is on Long Island, located between the hamlets of Islip and East Islip, flowing southward into the Great South Bay between the Seatuck National Wildlife Refuge and The Moorings. The fish and wildlife habitat is an approximate three and one-half mile length of the stream, extending from Knapps Lake, just north of the Main Street, to near its headwaters north of the Southern State Parkway. Champlin Creek is a relatively clean, cold, free-flowing, freshwater stream, generally less than 6 feet (1.8 m) wide, partially vegetated sandy substrate. The creek is bordered by limited areas of wet forest land and suburban residential development. Champlin Creek is one of only a few free-flowing, spring-fed streams on Long Island that have remained in a relatively natural state. This creek provides habitat conditions suitable for natural reproduction by brook trout, and supports one of approximately 6 known wild populations of this species on Long Island. In addition to the native fish populations in Champlin Creek, brown trout and rainbow trout are stocked in the stream by the NYSDEC, provide a recreational fishery of county-level significance. Public access for fishing the area is available along the east side of Knapps Lake and at road crossings.

Bay Shore Methodist Episcopal Church, also known as the United Methodist Church of Bay Shore, is a historic Methodist Episcopal church complex at E. Main Street at the junction of Second Avenue in Bay Shore, Suffolk County, New York. The complex consists of three attached units: the 1893 Richardsonian Romanesque-style church; the Gothic Revival style former church building built in 1867, relocated and now attached to the main church as the "Fellowship Hall," and a two-story, flat roofed Sunday School wing built in 1959.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2001.

Bay Shore Hose Company No. 1 Firehouse, also known as Second Avenue Fire House, is a historic fire station located at Bay Shore in Suffolk County, New York. It was built in 1886 or 1887 and is a 1+1⁄2-story, wood-frame structure with a prominent bell tower. It features a slender hose-drying tower at the rear. Throughout its history it has been used as a fire station, synagogue, and boarding house. Today, it survives as an art gallery.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2001.

First Congregational Church of Bay Shore is a historic Congregational church complex at 1860 Union Boulevard(SCR 50) on the corner of First Street at Bay Shore, Suffolk County, New York, United States. Contributing elements of the complex consists of three attached units: the 1891 Romanesque Revival / Shingle Style church and rectory. The church is a cruciform plan, gable roofed structure that features a square bell tower and porte cochere. The interior of the church features a variation on the Akron plan configuration. It was designed by Stephenson & Greene of New York.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.

Islip Speedway was a .2-mile (320-meter) oval race track in Islip, New York which was open from 1947 until 1984. It is the smallest track to host NASCAR's Grand National Series, from 1964 to 1971. The first demolition derby took place at Islip Speedway in 1958. The idea was patented by Larry Mendelsohn, who worked at Islip Speedway. The speedway has since been demolished.

The South Shore Estuary is an estuary located along the south shore of Long Island, between the mainland and the outer barrier islands, in eastern New York state. It stretches for over 70 miles (110 km) from West Bay in Nassau County to the Shinnecock Bay in Suffolk County.
