Santry

The 2009 European Cross Country Championships was a continental cross country running competition that was held on 13 December 2009 near Dublin city, Fingal in Ireland. Dublin was selected as the host city in 2007 and the event was the first time that a major European athletics championships took place in Ireland. The six men's and women's races in the championship programme took place in Santry Demense on a looped course with flat and grassy ground. The 16th edition of the European Cross Country Championships featured 323 athletes from 30 nations. Alemayehu Bezabeh upset the defending champion (Serhiy Lebid) to win the men's senior race: it was his first medal at a major international competition and he was the first Spanish runner to win in the history of the championships. In the women's senior competition, Hayley Yelling was a surprise winner, having come out of her competitive retirement just weeks before the race. The much favoured Portuguese team (which included Jessica Augusto and Inês Monteiro) did not reach the individual podium but they took the gold in the team competition. Noureddine Smaïl and Hassan Chahdi took gold and silver in the men's under-23 competition, leading the French to a team victory. Jeroen D'Hoedt was the winner of the men's junior race. Sultan Haydar won the women's under-23 race while Karoline Bjerkeli Grøvdal added to her junior honours with a gold in the women's junior race, becoming the first Norwegian gold medallist of the championships' history. Almost 7000 spectators attended the championships and, in Europe, it was broadcast live on television for free by RTÉ, the Irish state broadcaster.

Morton Stadium, or the National Athletics Stadium, is an athletics stadium in Santry Demesne, Santry in Ireland. Often called Santry Stadium, it is the centre for athletics events in Dublin city and the home track of Clonliffe Harriers. It has also been the home ground for several Irish association football clubs including Shamrock Rovers and Dublin City. The modern capacity of the ground is 8,800, with a single 800-seat covered stand.

Santry Court was a Georgian house and demesne in Santry, north County Dublin built between 1703-09 on the site of an earlier medieval residence.

St. Pappan's Church, is a Church of Ireland church in Santry, a suburb of Dublin. Today it belongs to the Santry (St. Pappan's), Glasnevin (St. Mobhi's) and Finglas (St. Canice's) Grouping of Parishes. There is an old graveyard beside St. Pappan's and a parish hall.

Omni Park is a large shopping centre and retail park in the Republic of Ireland. Located in Santry, in the north of Dublin close to the M50 motorway. It comprises over 28,600 square metres (308,000 sq ft) of retail space in 86 retail units over 2 floors of an indoor shopping mall and also several outlets externally. Units range from 49 square metres (530 sq ft) to 3,213 square metres (34,580 sq ft). Omni Park also features a selection of eateries, an Oratory and an 11 screen cinema called IMC (formerly called Omniplex). The centre has surface and multi-storey car parking. In 2005, additional development was undertaken with the construction of a multi-storey car park and a new mall which included an office suite on the third floor. Jack & Jones, Vero Moda, H&M, New Look, Elvery's, Lifestyle Sports, Name It, and Easons all occupied space in the new mall, with a number of vacant units waiting for retail tenants on the upper mall. A new boardwalk/retail park was also constructed with outlets including Boots, Starbucks, Argos, and Peacocks. Omni Park's three main anchors are Penneys, Tesco Ireland and New Look. Other retailers include Dealz, Argos Extra and Boots which opened in 2009.Since 2012, Omni Park Shopping Centre is home to the Santry post office which relocated from nearby Santry Avenue.In 2014, Lidl completed the construction of their unit within the Omni Park Shopping Centre. The construction of the Lidl store provided an additional 150 car parking spaces. As part of the planning permission for the Lidl unit, three further retail units received planning. These units provide for space ranging from 384 square metres (4,130 sq ft) to 600 square metres (6,500 sq ft).

The Sports Surgery Clinic (SSC), located in Santry, Dublin, Ireland, is a private hospital focused on orthopaedic surgery, and orthopaedic, spinal, sports, and exercise-related injuries. Numerous patients have been famous athletes and rock stars.

Beaumont is a northside suburb of Dublin city, Ireland, bordered by Donnycarney, Santry and Artane. It lies within the postal district of Dublin 9.

St. Kevin's Boys Football Club, is an association football club, in Whitehall, in North Dublin, with over forty schoolboy teams who play in the Dublin District Schoolboys League and a number of senior sides who play in the Leinster Senior League.The club uses playing facilities at Ellenfield Park, Shanowen Road, St. Aidan's CBS, Ward Cross, the Royal College of Surgeons Cloghran, Collinstown, Hampstead Park, and Coolgrena. In 2018, St. Kevins entered into a player development pathway, a five-year agreement, with Bohemians.

Whitehall (Irish: Fionnbhrú) is a Northside suburb of Dublin City, Ireland. Whitehall is a residential area on the northern outskirts of Dublin's inner city, located near the M1 motorway leading to Dublin Airport, Swords and Belfast, it's situated between the suburbs of Santry and Drumcondra. North of Whitehall, the M1 motorway begins at its junction with the M50, past the Dublin Port Tunnel's northern entrance. The area is adjacent to the major public Beaumont Hospital and to Dublin City University on Collins Avenue. Whitehall takes its name from a house named White Hall, formerly located to the south of the village on Drumcondra Road Upper. The area commonly known as Whitehall Cross, at the intersection of the Swords Road (R132) (north-south) and Collins Avenue (east-west), is in the townland of Clonturk, and was formerly the site of a public house called The Thatch, whose memory is preserved in the name of a nearby road.

Ellenfield Park (sometimes called Whitehall Park) is a public park in Whitehall, Dublin, managed by Dublin City Council Parks department.

St. Aidan's C.B.S. is an Irish Christian Brothers secondary school under the trusteeship of the Edmund Rice Schools Trust located on Collins Avenue, Dublin. It is beside Dublin City University. Most St. Aidan's students have progressed from the local primary schools such as Larkhill Boys National School; Our Lady of Victories, Ballymun; St. Patrick's National School, Drumcondra; and St. Fiachra's School, Beaumont.

Whitehall Colmcille (Irish: Fionnbhrú Colmcille ) is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based on Collins' Avenue in Dublin 9, Ireland. The Club has contributed in a big way to the success of various County Football teams and All Ireland titles producing many well known names.
