DR Byen station is a rapid transit station on the Copenhagen Metro. It is served by the M1 line. The station is elevated from ground level. It is located in fare zones 1 and 3, and opened in 2002. The station is situated in the northern part of Ørestad. The name of the station is related to Danmarks Radio's new headquarters DR Byen (DR town) that lies close to the station. Originally, the station was named Universitetet Station, because of new university buildings were intended to be constructed near the station, but the project was moved nearer Islands Brygge Station, next to the old buildings.

DR Byen (Danish pronunciation: [ˈte̝ˀˌɛɐ̯ ˈpyˀən]; literally: "the DR City") is the headquarters of the Danish Broadcasting Corporation, DR, located in Copenhagen, Denmark. DR moved all employees from Radiohuset in Frederiksberg and TV-Byen in Søborg to DR Byen during 2006 and 2007.

DR Koncerthuset (Danish pronunciation: [ˈte̝ˀˌɛɐ̯ kʰʌnˈsɛɐ̯tˌhuˀsð̩, - kʰɔnˈ-]; previously Copenhagen Concert Hall in English) by Jean Nouvel is a part of the new DR Byen (DR Town), that houses the Danish Broadcasting Corporation, DR. The concert hall and the DR Town are located in the northern part of Ørestad – an ambitious development area in Copenhagen, Denmark. Construction commenced in February 2003. The official opening was celebrated on January 17, 2009, making the total time of construction just a little under 6 years. The concert complex consists of four halls with the main auditorium seating 1,800 people. It is the home of the Danish National Symphony Orchestra.

The Center for Computer Games Research is located at the IT University of Copenhagen, Denmark and was one of the first academic departments entirely dedicated to the scholarly study of digital gaming. Originally a part of the Department of Digital Aesthetics and Communication and spun off into its own independent unit in 2003, the Center was notable at the time for its sole specialization in gaming. It has historically been a multidisciplinary unit with faculty from fields ranging from literature to sociology to computer science. It has hosted a number of key conferences over the years including Other Players (2004), the 2005 iteration of the Digital Arts and Culture conference, and the IEEE Conference on Computational Intelligence and Games in 2010. It continues to provide institutional support to the peer-reviewed journal Game Studies, which launched in 2001 (the editor-in-chief, Espen Aarseth, is former head of the Center and current Professor at the ITU). The Center played a significant role for a number of important game studies scholars and designers. In addition to being the intellectual home for the university's Masters Program in Gaming, the Center has produced a number of PhD's over the years including scholars who have gone on to do major work in the field (see below). The IT University of Copenhagen (Danish: IT-Universitetet i København, abbreviated ITU) is a public university and research institution in Copenhagen, Denmark. It is specialized in the multidisciplinary study of information technology within computer science, business IT and digital design. There are approximately 200 faculty members, 70 PhD students and more than 2,500 students. Among all admitted Bachelor and Master students at the IT University of Copenhagen in 2020, 38 per cent were female.

Solvang Church (Solvang Kirke) is a church in the Amager district of Copenhagen, Denmark. It was built between 1975 and 1976 on designs of architect Holger Jensen. It consists of a complex of box-shaped buildings, which also includes a parish hall and a confirmation halls. The church was renovated externally between 1998 and 1999, and inside between 2003 and 2005.

Tietgenkollegiet (English: Tietgen Student Hall), named for Danish financier C.F. Tietgen (1829-1901), is a student residence located in the Ørestad district of Copenhagen, Denmark. The building has a conspicuous circular shape, inspired by traditional southern Chinese Hakka architecture, and is designed by Danish architects Lundgaard & Tranberg in 2006. The design has won it a RIBA European Award.

The Royal School of Library and Information Science (abbr. RSLIS, Danish: Det Informationsvidenskabelige Akademi) is a school under the University of Copenhagen that provides higher education in the field of library and information science. It has now merged with another department to Department of Communication. It is based in Copenhagen, Denmark. It is a member of iSchools, a consortium directed to understanding the role of information in nature and human culture. There has also been a location in Aalborg, however this campus was shut down in the summer of 2017.

The Arnamagnæan Institute (Danish: Den Arnamagnæanske Samling, formerly Det Arnamagnæanske Institut) is a teaching and research institute established in 1956 to further the study of the manuscripts in the Arnamagnæan Manuscript Collection, the collection bequeathed by the Icelandic scholar and antiquarian Árni Magnússon to the University of Copenhagen in 1730.

Bikuben Kollegium (Danish: Bikuben Kollegiet) is a privately owned dormitory for students in Ørestad, Copenhagen.Opening in August 2006, Bikuben Kollegium is located on the corner of Amager Fælledvej and Njalsgade next to the University of Copenhagen's South Campus. The dorm was designed by the Aart Architects, an Aarhus based firm having as its ambition to make new forms of student communities possible. Kitchens and common areas are thus distributed on various floors, facing an inner yard.The dormitory has 96 one room dwellings and four two room apartments as well a small number of homes for handicapped students and families. There are also furnished rooms, reserved for foreign students. The rent is DKK 2,985 per month for the smallest type of room.The light art which can be seen at the entrance was created by the artist Viera Collaro.Among a lot of dormitories in the area, Grønjordskollegiet is located 1 km South of Bikuben Kollegiet.

The South Campus (Danish: Søndre Campus) is one of University of Copenhagen's four campuses in Copenhagen, Denmark. It is situated on Amager just south of Njalsgade, between Ørestad Boulevard and Amager Fælledvej, forming the northernmost part of Ørestad. It is home to the Faculty of Humanities which will later be joined by the Faculty of Theology and the Faculty of Law. Once completed, the campus will be home to about 12,000 students and researchers.

Amagerbro is an area in the northern part of the island Amager and a district in Copenhagen. The area is known as a working class area, and has approximately 20,000 inhabitants. The district has two metro stations, Amagerbro station and Lergravsparken station. Amagerbrogade, a main shopping street, runs through it. The district is bordered by the Amager Fælled nature reserve, the Christianhavn Ramparts and Kløvermarken, the industrial area near Amager Boulevard and Øresundsvej. The main shopping and business area is Amagerbrogade and its sidestreets. Establishments in Amagerbro include Kofoeds School offering assistance to people with social problems, the Sundholm Activity Centre accommodating the homeless for short periods, and The Royal School of Library and Information Science with some 800 students.
