Barryscourt Castle (Caisleán Chúirt an Bharraigh in Irish) is a castle located in eastern County Cork in southern Ireland, close to the town of Carrigtwohill.

Carrigtwohill GAA is a Gaelic Football and hurling club based in the parish of Carrigtwohill in Cork, Ireland. The club participates in Cork GAA competitions and in Imokilly board competitions. In 2011 the Senior hurling team won a first county title in 93 years.

Carrigtwohill railway station serves the town of Carrigtwohill in County Cork. It is a station on the Cork to Midleton commuter service. Passengers to Cobh change at Glounthaune station.The station is unstaffed but has a ticket vending machine. Its two platforms are both fully accessible.

Great Island (Irish: An tOileán Mór) is an island in Cork Harbour, at the mouth of the River Lee and close to the city of Cork, Ireland. The largest town on the island is Cobh (called Queenstown from 1849 to 1920). The island's economic and social history has historically been linked to the naval, ship-building, and shipping activities in the town's environs.In the early 21st century, a different marine industry has arisen. Tourism and related services have become a significant part of the local economy, including cruise ships attracted by the Port of Cork berthing facilities on the island. This is the only dedicated cruising ship berth in the Republic of Ireland.

Ballymore (Irish: An Baile Mór, meaning 'the big town') is a small village on the Great Island in Cork Harbour, approximately 4 km (2.5 mi) from the town of Cobh and 23 km (14 mi) from Cork near the south coast of Ireland. Ballymore is the closest village to the centre of the island and is situated on the oldest and longest road on the island. Near Ballymore is the old cemetery of Templerobin where once stood an ancient church, one of three which may have been built on the island as early as the 9th century. According to Great Island Tours, a book published by the local library, Templerobin is mentioned in records dated 1302 and 1652 but by 1774 it was reported as being in ruins.Ballymore has a small Roman Catholic Church and is served by the school of the adjoining twin village of Walterstown, the two being townlands which jointly make up the village of Ballymore. The area is strongly associated with the Barry family, a powerful Norman era family which is still represented in the area today. Sports clubs in the area include Ballymore Athletic, where Sonia O'Sullivan, the 1995 World Championships in Athletics gold medalist in the 5,000m race, trained from an early age. There is also a local cycling club and the area hosts an annual cycle race. There is a single public house in the village, known as the Hi Chapperal. There was previously a Post Office in Ballymore but this has now been downgraded to a postal agency.

Belvelly Castle is a 14th or 15th-century tower house in County Cork, Ireland. It is situated next to the small village of Belvelly, opposite and overlooking the only road bridge connecting Fota Island to Great Island (on which the town of Cobh is situated). The castle was originally built by and for the Anglo-Norman Hodnett family, but was taken by the De la Roch (Roche) and De Barra (Barry) families in the 14th century. The Hodnetts later however leased-back their lands. Some sources suggest that Walter Raleigh occupied the castle in the 16th century, before being reoccupied by the De Barra family, and used by Roger Boyle, 1st Earl of Orrery to garrison troops during the Irish Confederate Wars in the mid-17th century.By the 19th century the castle had fallen into ruin. During World War I, the castle received an increase in visitors when local coachmen brought sailors docked at nearby Queenstown (Cobh) to the castle - reputedly under the impression that they were actually visiting Blarney Castle and its Blarney Stone. The castle was occupied and somewhat modified by the Irish Army during the Emergency (1939-1945).The castle was sold in the early 21st century, with planning permission granted in early 2016 for restoration for use as a private dwelling. This redevelopment was completed in late 2018, with additional artworks positioned on the roof of the tower house. The castle's owners are among the sponsors of local football club Cobh Ramblers FC.

Belvelly (Irish: Béal an Bhealaigh, meaning 'mouth of the roadway') is a small village on the northern end of the Great Island of Cork Harbour, about four miles north of the town of Cobh, County Cork, Ireland. Belvelly is situated at the shortest crossing point between Great Island and the neighbouring Fota Island. Belvelly Bridge (built in 1803) connects Great Island to Fota Island, which is in turn connected to the mainland near Carrigtwohill. The village has a number of historic buildings; Belvelly Castle, Belvelly Martello Tower and a nineteenth century red-brick school house. The castle was built by the Hodnett family around the 15th century to the annoyance of the more powerful de Barry family, who later seized the castle.The three primary buildings at Belvelly have now been converted into dwellings. The schoolhouse at Belvelly was converted into a dwelling in 1990s, while the castle and the Martello tower were converted into family homes during the early 21st century. Because of the 13-foot-thick (4.0 m) walls and its status as a historical monument, limited structural changes could be made to the Martello tower, with most light coming from the roof area. The restoration of Belvelly castle included the construction of new perimeter walls and a separate garage.

Fota Wildlife Park is a 100-acre (40 ha) wildlife park located on Fota Island, near Carrigtwohill, County Cork, Ireland. Opened in 1983, it is an independently funded, not-for-profit charity that is one of the leading tourism, wildlife and conservation attractions in Ireland. The park had an attendance of 455,559 visitors in 2017, making it the eleventh most popular paid attraction in Ireland for that year.The park is home to nearly 30 mammal and 50 bird species. Some of the animals roam freely with the visitors, such as the ring-tailed lemurs and wallabies, while larger animals, including the giraffe and bison, live in paddocks with barriers that are intended to be unobtrusive for visitors to view the animals in a more natural environment. Fota Wildlife Park also has red pandas, tapirs, siamang gibbons and other types of animals.

The Old Church Cemetery (also known as Cobh Cemetery) is an ancient cemetery on the outskirts of the town of Cobh, County Cork, Ireland which contains a significant number of important burials, including a number 3 mass graves and several individual graves containing the remains of 193 victims of the passenger ship RMS Lusitania which was sunk by a German torpedo off the Old Head of Kinsale during the First World War in May 1915 with the loss of more than 1,100 lives. The Commonwealth War Graves Commission register and maintain the graves of 127 identified Commonwealth service personnel (including Lusitania victims) from the same war.

The Cobh Wanderers F.C. is a football club based in Ireland, which existed from 1925 until the 1940s, and again from 1981 to the present day.

Holy Trinity Church is a small Gothic Revival Anglican church located in East Ferry, County Cork, Ireland. It was completed in 1830. It is dedicated to the Trinity. It is the church for Gurranekennefeake parish, part of the Diocese of Cork, Cloyne, and Ross. It is included on Cork County Council's Record of Protected Structures.
