New York University School of Social Work

Washington Mews is a private gated street in New York City between Fifth Avenue and University Place just north of Washington Square Park. Along with MacDougal Alley and Stuyvesant Street, it was originally part of a Lenape trail which connected the Hudson and East Rivers, and was first developed as a mews (row of stables) that serviced horses from homes in the area. Since the 1950s the former stables have served as housing, offices and other facilities for New York University.

La Maison Française NYU is one of New York University's International Houses, located on its Washington Square campus. Since 1957, La Maison Française has served as a forum for French-American cultural and intellectual exchange, offering contemporary perspectives on French and Francophone issues. Its lectures, symposia, concerts, screenings, exhibitions, and special events provides a resource to the university community, as well as the general public.As the public face of the Center for French Civilization and Culture of New York University, La Maison Française complements and enriches the programs offered by the Department of French, the Institute of French Studies, and NYU in France. In addition, it fosters interdisciplinary study through collaborations with various university departments, including the Department of Art History, the Department of Anthropology, the School of Law and home to the smallest baguette in New York.

The Silver Center for Arts and Science (formerly Main Building) is the home of the New York University College of Arts and Science and NYU's Grey Art Gallery at 32 Waverly Place, Greenwich Village, Manhattan, New York City. The Dean of the College of Arts & Science and the college administration are located in this facility which forms an imposing landmark on the eastern border of Washington Square Park.

The New York University Graduate School of Arts and Science (GSAS) is a school within New York University (NYU) founded in 1886 by Henry Mitchell MacCracken, establishing NYU as the second academic institution in the United States to grant Ph.D. degrees on academic performance and examination. The School is housed in the Silver Center, several departments have their own buildings and houses around Washington Square. The graduate program at Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences, although run independently, is formally associated with the graduate school. Along with the Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development and the New York University Institute of Fine Arts, the Graduate School participates in the Inter-University Doctoral Consortium (IUDC), which allows doctoral students to cross-register at member institutions. Participating schools are CUNY Graduate Center, Fordham University, New School for Social Research, Columbia University, Princeton University, Rutgers University, and Stony Brook University.

The Triangle Fire Memorial is a memorial at the Brown Building in Greenwich Village, New York City. It commemorates the 1911 Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire, which killed 146 workers, primarily Italian and Jewish immigrant women and girls, and is considered a catalyst in the American labor rights movement. It was designed by Richard Joon Yoo and Uri Wegman.It was officially unveiled on October 11, 2023, more than a century after the fire occurred.The memorial was created after years of effort from the Remember the Triangle Fire Coalition, whose members include descendants of the victims.

The Brown Building is a ten-story building that is part of the campus of New York University (NYU), which owns it. It is located at 23–29 Washington Place, between Greene Street and Washington Square East in the Greenwich Village neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City, and is best known as the location of the March 25, 1911, Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire, which killed 146 people. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places and was named a National Historical Landmark in 1991. It was designated a New York City landmark in 2003.

The Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire in the Greenwich Village neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City, on Saturday, March 25, 1911, was the deadliest industrial disaster in the history of the city, and one of the deadliest in U.S. history. The fire caused the deaths of 146 garment workers – 123 women and girls and 23 men – who died from the fire, smoke inhalation, or falling or jumping to their deaths. Most of the victims were recent Italian or Jewish immigrant women and girls aged 14 to 23; of the victims whose ages are known, the oldest victim was 43-year-old Providenza Panno, and the youngest were 14-year-olds Kate Leone and Rosaria "Sara" Maltese.The factory was located on the 8th, 9th, and 10th floors of the Asch Building, which had been built in 1901. Later renamed the "Brown Building", it still stands at 23–29 Washington Place near Washington Square Park, on the New York University (NYU) campus. The building has been designated a National Historic Landmark and a New York City landmark.Because the doors to the stairwells and exits were locked – a common practice at the time to prevent workers from taking unauthorized breaks and to reduce theft – many of the workers could not escape from the burning building and jumped from the high windows. The fire led to legislation requiring improved factory safety standards and helped spur the growth of the International Ladies' Garment Workers' Union (ILGWU), which fought for better working conditions for sweatshop workers.

The NYU Center for Urban Science and Progress (commonly referred to as CUSP) is a degree-granting technology and research institute in downtown Brooklyn, New York City. It is a graduate school of New York University focusing on urban informatics. The Center, first opened in September 2013, is inside NYU's 370 Jay Street building.

The New York University Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development (commonly referred to as Steinhardt) is the secondary liberal arts and education school of New York University. It is one of the only schools in the world of its type. Founded in 1890, it is the first school of pedagogy to be established at an American university. Prior to 2001, it was known as the NYU School of Education. Located on NYU's founding campus in Greenwich Village, the Steinhardt School offers bachelor's, master's, advanced certificate, and doctoral programs in the fields of applied psychology, art, education, health, media, and music. NYU Steinhardt also offers several degree programs at NYU's Brooklyn campus.

One Fifth Avenue is a residential skyscraper in the Washington Square area of Greenwich Village. It was designed by Harvey Wiley Corbett of the firm Helme & Corbett.In 1926, developer Joseph G. Siegel leased the lot on the southeast corner of 8th Street and Fifth Avenue from Sailors' Snug Harbor. Construction began in 1926, and the building opened in 1927 as an apartment hotel with 2- and 3-room units. When first built, it was received with both acclaim and controversy, called "a 27-story apartment hotel, a thing of rare beauty" and "a modern skyscraper in a neighborhood of brownstones".It was converted to a co-op in 1976, and is "one of the Village's most desirable co-ops."
