John Dewey High School

Roy Campanella Occupational Training Center, also known as Brooklyn Occupational Training Center, Roy Campanella OTC or simply the Roy Campanella School is a public high school located at 64 Avenue X, in Brooklyn, New York, USA, under the jurisdiction of the New York City Department of Education. The school serves students from kindergarten to 12th grade. The principal is Barbara Tremblay.

The Bay 50th Street station is a local station on the BMT West End Line of the New York City Subway, located at the intersection of Bay 50th Street and Stillwell Avenue in the Gravesend neighborhood of Brooklyn. It is served by the D train at all times. It is in front of the campus of John Dewey High School and has been adopted by its students as part of the New York City Transit Authority's Adopt-a-Station Program.

Anthony Catanzaro Square is located within a traffic triangle that is the result of three street grids that meet in the Bath Beach neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York. At this junction, West 16 Street meets its northern end at the same place where Avenue Y meets its western end, both of these roads meeting Bay 50th Street. In 1963, the City Council designated this triangle as Anthony Catanzaro Square, in honor of Private First Class Anthony Catanzaro (1916-1943), who was killed in the service of the country during World War II. A son of Italian immigrants, Anthony Catanzaro lived across the street from the triangle. Fighting in the 322nd Fighter Control Squadron, his ship was on its way to the front in Italy when it was torpedoed on November 26, 1943 by German forces. Private First Class Catanzaro was posthumously awarded the Purple Heart medal and buried at the nearby North Africa American Cemetery in Carthage, Tunisia. In this war, his younger brother Joseph (1919-2015) survived the June 6, 1944 invasion of Normandy and returned home vowing to honor Anthony. Through the efforts of Joseph, a flagpole was installed and shrubs planted at the site, lovingly cared by Joseph who raised the park’s flag each morning.Anthony Catanzaro Square is part of the Greenstreets program, a partnership between the New York City Parks Department and the city Department of Transportation that transforms unused traffic triangles and medians into green spaces.

The 86th Street station (also known as Gravesend–86th Street station) is a local station on the BMT Sea Beach Line of the New York City Subway, located at the intersection of 86th Street and West Seventh Street in Gravesend, Brooklyn. It is served by the N train at all times. During rush hours, several W and northbound Q trains also serve the station, serving as the southern terminus for W trips to Brooklyn.

The New York City Transit Authority operates a total of 24 rail yards for the New York City Subway system, and one for the Staten Island Railway. There are 10 active A Division yards and 11 active B Division yards, two of which are shared between divisions for storage and car washing. In addition, there is one yard for the Staten Island Railway and three non-revenue (Maintenance of Way, or MoW) Division-independent yards. Many of the system's yards are used for off-peak storage, whereas some have inspection facilities where basic routine maintenance is carried out. Of these yards, rolling stock are assigned to seven A Division yards and seven B Division yards. Within the yards are 14 maintenance facilities, whereas two yards (207th Street and Coney Island) perform major overhaul and car rebuilding work.

L&B Spumoni Gardens is a pizzeria-restaurant in the Gravesend neighborhood of Brooklyn in New York City. Originally conceived as an ice and spumoni stand prior to World War II, it grew during the mid-1950s into a full-scale pizzeria that's known today primarily for its Sicilian pizza and ices. The restaurant has been featured on the show Man v. Food. NY Eater critic Robert Sietsema considers L&B Spumoni Gardens a must-try Italian American restaurant in Brooklyn. They were featured on Andrew Zimmern’s show The Zimmern List.

Big Apple Academy is a coeducational independent school for students in pre-kindergarten through 8th grade. The Academy occupies two modern facilities located in the Gravesend area of Brooklyn, New York City.

Kingsborough Early College Secondary School (KECSS), or IS 468 is a Middle School/High School located in the Bensonhurst section of Brooklyn, New York. KECSS is housed in the Lafayette Educational Complex/Campus (Lafayette High School (New York City)) building. Students also take college courses at Kingsborough Community College located in the Manhattan Beach section of Brooklyn, New York. KECSS offers each child the opportunity to better themselves with strong character building programs. Upon completion of the eighth grade level, students participate in college level courses in addition to the high school curriculum. Upon completion of all courses with a passing grade each student will have earned 60 college credits (the equivalent of an associate degree).

Lafayette High School was a large secondary school located in the Bath Beach section of Brooklyn, New York City, New York. It closed in 2010.

The Avenue X station is a local station in Brooklyn on the IND Culver Line of the New York City Subway. It is served by the F train at all times and the train during rush hours in the peak direction.

Totonno's is a pizzeria located at 1524 Neptune Avenue (between West 15th Street and West 16th Street) in Coney Island in Brooklyn, New York. It was established in 1924 by Antonio "Totonno" Pero.
