Lake Houston Wilderness Park is a wooded parkland that encompasses 4,786.6 acres. It is the only park owned by the Houston Parks and Recreation Department that has overnight camping and lodging. There are over 20 miles of hiking, biking, and equestrian trails available inside the park.

Texas's 2nd congressional district of the United States House of Representatives is in the southeastern portion of the state of Texas. It encompasses parts of northern and eastern Harris County and southern Montgomery County, Texas. From 2002 to 2012, it stretched from Houston's northern suburbs through eastern Harris County, and across Southeast Texas to the Louisiana border. As of the 2000 census, the 2nd district represented 651,619 people. The district's configuration dates from the 2003 Texas redistricting, when most of the old 9th district was split among three neighboring districts. The four-term Democratic incumbent in the 9th district, Nick Lampson, was unseated by Republican Ted Poe, a longtime felony-court judge in Harris County. In November 2017, Poe announced that he would retire from Congress at the end of his current term, and did not seek re-election in 2018. Dan Crenshaw was elected on November 6, 2018 and is currently serving as congressman.

Kingwood High School is a Humble Independent School District secondary school located in the Kingwood community of Houston, Texas, United States and serves Portions of Kingwood and Atascocita. Ted Landry had been principal since May 29, 2011 until June 2018 when he announced his departure from Humble ISD to replace Greg Colschen as principal at The Woodlands High School in Conroe Independent School District. Dr. Michael Nasra has been the principal since June 2018.Kingwood was designated a National Blue Ribbon School in 1984, and it has received the Lone Star Cup five times (1999, 2001, 2003, 2004, and 2005). Its feeder schools are Creekwood Middle School and Riverwood Middle School.

Kingwood Park High School (K-Park) is a high school located within the Kingwood community of Houston, Texas, United States. Kingwood Park is a part of the Humble Independent School District. On average, Kingwood Park serves approximately 1,700 students. In 2008 the school was classified as a 4A school and reclassified in 2014 as a 5A school, putting it in District 21-5A. The school's mascot is the black panther, and its colors are silver, forest green and black. In December 2011, Larry Cooper retired from being principal of Kingwood Park High School. The current principal is Wes Solomon.

Christian Life Center Academy (CLCA) is a private, college preparatory Christian school serving primary, secondary and postgraduate students located in the Kingwood area of Houston. It was previously in another section of the city of Houston, near Humble.CLCA serves approximately 150 students from Daycare – 12th Grade and is a self-supporting agency of the Christian Life Center Church.

New Caney High School is a public secondary school in New Caney and is a part of the New Caney Independent School District. NCHS is currently a 6A school. The school has received recognition for its JROTC program, band, journalism program, DECA program and Academic Decathlon team. New Caney High School offers Advanced Placement courses, athletics, career and technology courses, dual credit, National Honor Society, and a host of special programs.

Atascocita is a census-designated place (CDP) in Harris County, Texas, United States, within the Houston metropolitan area. As of the 2020 census it had a population of 88,174. It is located north and south of Farm to Market Road 1960 about 6 miles (10 km) east of Humble and 18 miles (29 km) northeast of downtown Houston in northeastern Harris County.
