Wat Chayamangkalaram

Kampong Siam is an ethnic Siamese enclave (where the population are mostly a minority consisting of Thai expats and recent migrants as well as local-born Siamese descendants with ancestral roots from neighbouring areas such as Perlis, Kedah, Hulu Perak district of Perak as well as Kelantan) within the city of George Town in Penang, Malaysia. Located within the Pulau Tikus suburb, the neighbourhood lies 2.6 km (1.6 mi) west of the city centre. The 2,681 m2 (0.662-acre) neighbourhood is situated near the corner between Burmah Road and Burmah Lane, immediately adjacent to Wat Chaiyamangkalaram.The neighbourhood is still inhabited by ethnic Siamese, who had moved into the area as early as the 19th century. However, the enclave has also, in recent years, been under threat from rapid urbanisation and redevelopment.

Dhammikarama Burmese Temple (Burmese: ဓမ္မိကာရာမမြန်မာကျောင်း) is a Burmese temple in Pulau Tikus suburb of George Town of Penang in Malaysia. Situated in Burmah Road, the temple located close to the Wat Chayamangkalaram. It is the sole and oldest Malaysian Burmese temple in the state. The temple also became a focal point for the annual Water, Thingyan and Mid-Autumn festivals as well for Buddhist Lent and Candle Lighting Days within the city suburb.

Burmah Road is a major thoroughfare in the city of George Town in Penang, Malaysia. It is one of the main roads leading out of the city centre to the suburbs, stretching from the heart of George Town towards Pulau Tikus. Along its western section, the 3.7 km (2.3 mi) long Burmah Road cuts through the centre of Pulau Tikus, serving as the main thoroughfare for the suburb as well.Burmah Road is one of the few places worldwide that was named after the nation state of Burma (now Myanmar). As its name implies, the road was once home to a significant Burmese community. In addition, ethnic Eurasians and Thais still live at or around the vicinity of the road within Pulau Tikus, contributing to the street's multicultural character. The road is also well known as one of the destinations within Penang Island to sample the famed local cuisine. The most popular hawker centres at Burmah Road are the New World Park and Pulau Tikus Wet Market, the latter of which is located just off the road in Pulau Tikus.

Pulau Tikus is a northwestern suburb of George Town in Penang, Malaysia. Situated between the city centre and Tanjung Tokong, this upper class suburb was named after a rock just off the coast of Penang Island. It is home to small minorities of Eurasians, Thais and Burmese populations.Established soon after Captain Francis Light's founding of Penang Island in 1786, Pulau Tikus has been home to various cultures since the first days of British rule. The aforementioned communities have built impressive places of worship within Pulau Tikus, such as Catholic churches and Buddhist temples adorned with architectural designs of their native homelands. In addition, a number of consulates have been established here.

Setia V Residences is a residential complex located at Gurney Drive, a suburb of George Town, Penang, Malaysia. It consists of a pair of skyscrapers, Tower A and Tower B, with 48 and 32 stories respectively. Tower B has an estimated height of 120.83 m (396.4 ft). Tower A, with a height of 181.24 m (594.6 ft), was the tallest residential skyscraper in Penang; and as of 2021, remains as one of the tallest skyscrapers in George Town. The complex has a total of 166 residential units, with areas ranging from 2,624 to 7,119 sq ft (243.8 to 661.4 m2). Units were sold between RM 1.95 million and RM 7.47 million (US$ 465,000 and US$1.79 million) The residential complex sits at a 1.8 acres (0.73 ha) site of the former campus of Tenby School (Sri Inai School), a private school based in Penang, founded in the 1980s. This site, under the acquirement of S P Setia, a Malaysian property development firm, was redeveloped in 2011. The original campus of Tenby School was subsequently demolished later that year. Both Tower A and B topped out in 2016 while the complex was fully completed in late-2017.

The Millennium Tower is a 35-storey condominium within the city of George Town in Penang, Malaysia. Located at Gurney Drive, the skyscraper was completed in 2005 and has a height of 138 m (453 ft). A low density development, the condominium contains only 20 residential units within its 35 floors.

Marriott Residences Penang is a seafronting residential skyscraper within George Town in the Malaysian state of Penang. Located at the city's prime address of Gurney Drive, the tower stands at a height of 223 m (732 ft), making it the second tallest skyscraper in the city of George Town as of 2023. Built by local developer BSG Property, the 55-storey building was topped out and expected to be completed in 2023. It is also the first of Marriott Residences in Southeast Asia, marking the entry of the Marriott brand into Penang's branded residences segment. The skyscraper contains a total of 223 guest rooms, 90 executive hotel rooms and 302 branded residential units.

Kampong Serani is a residential neighbourhood within the city of George Town in Penang, Malaysia. Located within the Pulau Tikus suburb, the neighbourhood lies 3.1 km (1.9 mi) west of the city centre. It is bounded by College Avenue to the west and Leandro's Lane to the east.The neighbourhood was formerly inhabited by ethnic Eurasians, who had moved into the area as early as the 19th century. However, most of the original Eurasian residents had since relocated to other areas in George Town, following the redevelopment of Kampong Serani into a modern neighbourhood in the late 1990s. Despite the urbanisation, the neighbourhood still retains some of its Eurasian characteristics and is home to the Penang Eurasian Association.

Church of the Immaculate Conception (Malay: Gereja Kandungan Suci, Tamil: அமலோற்பவ அன்னை தேவாலயம்) is a church and parish located in Pulau Tikus, George Town, Penang, Malaysia. The church was founded in 1811 and is the second oldest church in the diocese after Church of the Assumption.

Gurney Drive (Malay: Persiaran Gurney, Chinese: 新关仔角 / 新關仔角; Pe̍h-ōe-jī: sin kuan-á-kak, Tamil: கர்பால் சிங் டிரைவ்) is a popular seafront promenade within George Town, Penang, Malaysia. The road is also famous for the street cuisine at the seafront's hawker centre and has been listed as one of the 25 best streets worldwide to visit by the Australian travel magazine, The Traveler. In addition, Gurney Drive has become part of George Town's second Central Business District due to the mushrooming of skyscrapers and shopping malls.Previously known as the New Coast Road, it was completed in 1936 along what was then known as the North Beach and renamed in 1952 after Sir Henry Gurney, British High Commissioner in Malaya (1950–1951), who was assassinated by the guerrillas of the Malayan Communist Party during the Malayan Emergency.Over the years, the beaches along Gurney Drive have largely been lost to coastal erosion. More recently, a land reclamation project at nearby Tanjung Tokong has reversed the erosion, leading to the accretion of silt and mud off Gurney Drive. Mangrove saplings have sprouted in the mud, which is now frequented by egrets and other birds as well as mudskippers. As of 2016, the shoreline off Gurney Drive is being reclaimed for the purpose of creating a public recreational park named Gurney Wharf.

Gurney Paragon is a residential and retail complex in George Town, Penang, Malaysia. Situated at Gurney Drive, it was launched in 2013, and consists of a nine-storey shopping mall, two condominiums and an office block. To date, the twin condominium towers, each measuring a height of 155 m (509 ft), are the third tallest skyscrapers in Penang.The shopping mall's main anchor tenant is TGV Cinemas, which operates a multiplex at its top floor. The mall also contains over 200 outlets spread out over nine floors, including a number of international brands. There are sufficient parking bays at Gurney Paragon to cater its visitors (Gurney Paragon parking rate).

Kelawei Road is a major thoroughfare in the city of George Town in Penang, Malaysia. It is one of the main roads leading out of the city centre to the suburbs, stretching from the heart of George Town towards Pulau Tikus. This leafy road runs just behind Gurney Drive, passing by a number of well-known landmarks and shopping malls; the high-rises of Gurney Drive also line the northern side of Kelawei Road. As with Burmah Road, Kelawei Road passes through the suburb of Pulau Tikus, thus it has witnessed significant Eurasian, Thai and Burmese influences. A Eurasian community still resides along Kelawei Road to this day, forming the Penang Eurasian Association.
