Madera Community Hospital was founded in 1971 and is located at 1250 E. Almond Avenue in Madera, California. The hospital contains 106 acute care beds, a 16-bed Emergency Department and a 10-bed Intensive Care Unit. Madera Community Hospital also operates two rural health care clinics and a home health agency. Madera Community Hospital is fully accredited by the American Osteopathic Association's Healthcare Facilities Accreditation Program (HFAP), by the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act, 1988 (CLIA) program, and is a member of the Hospital Council of Northern and Central California and the California Healthcare Association.The COVID-19 pandemic overwhelmed San Joaquin Valley hospitals. Already financially stressed, increasing costs for medical equipment and salaries for traveling nurses to address the surges were too much for the hospital to absorb. On January 3, 2023, Madera Community Hospital shuttered and filed for bankruptcy.

Previously functioning as the second campus of the town's other high school, Madera High, the school officially became Madera's second official high school in August 2006.

The Madera County Courthouse is the former county courthouse of Madera County, California. The courthouse is located at 210 W. Yosemite Ave. in Madera. It was built in 1900 using granite quarried within the county. The courthouse was the first significant public building constructed in Madera County. The building is topped by a clock tower; the tower fell in a 1906 fire but was rebuilt. In 1953, the county government left the courthouse, as a survey found the building to be unsafe. The Madera County Historical Society later converted the courthouse into a museum.The Madera County Courthouse was added to the National Register of Historic Places on September 3, 1971.

Storey (known as Madera by Amtrak) was an unstaffed train station located in the unincorporated community of Storey, and about 1 mile (1.6 km) southeast of the Fresno River, in Madera County, California, United States. Just prior to its closure in November 2010 and replacement by the new Madera station, this station was served by Amtrak's (the National Railroad Passenger Corporation) San Joaquin. Prior to Amtrak, this station was also previously served by Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad's (ATSF) San Francisco Chief and its Oakland-Barstow Line.
