On 19 August 2021, a stabbing and attempted mass murder occurred at Källeberg School in Eslöv, Sweden, when 15-year-old then-student Hugo Jackson stabbed and injured one person with a knife before being arrested after unsuccessfully attempting a suicide by cop by aiming an airsoft pistol at first responders.Jackson livestreamed the attack on live-streaming platform Twitch. There is no screen recording of the livestream and it is considered lost media; however, there are screenshots of the livestream.

Eslöv (Swedish pronunciation: [ˈěːslœv];) is a town and the seat of Eslöv Municipality, Skåne County, Sweden with 19,598 inhabitants as of 2018.Eslöv is part of the Öresund Region, and the Malmö Metropolitan Area.

Eslöv Municipality (Eslövs kommun) is one of 290 municipalities of Sweden, situated in Skåne County in southern Sweden. Its seat is located in the city of Eslöv. The present municipality was created in 1971, when the former City of Eslöv was amalgamated with a number of surrounding municipalities, most of them created by the earlier nationwide local government reform in 1952. The Stone Mountain, Eslöv Church and Hotel Sten Stensson Sten with the locally famous "Scanish Steps" lie in the middle of Eslöv. Maybe the most famous inhabitant of Eslöv is the comedian Johan Glans, who has made several TV series and is well known throughout the country.

Region Skåne is the regional council of Skåne County in Scania, Sweden. Region Skåne was formed on 1 January 1999 by the amalgamation of the county councils of Malmöhus County and Kristianstad County and some of the tasks handled by Malmö Municipality. The regional assembly is the highest political body in the region and its members are elected by the population of Skåne Country, as opposed to the County Administrative Board (länsstyrelsen) which represents the interests of the state within the county, under the chairmanship of the county governor. By devolution the newly formed region assumed some powers from the Skåne County Administrative Board, the state authority in Skåne County. Before Region Skåne was formed in 1999 on a trial basis, the regional development was the responsibility of a Regional Association, comprising the 33 municipalities together with the then current health services principals, namely the Kristianstad and Malmöhus county councils and the Health Services authority in the City of Malmö. Similar provisions had also been extended to the Region Västra Götaland and the Region Gotland during a trial period.

Gårdstånga is a locality situated in Eslöv Municipality, Skåne County, Sweden with 343 inhabitants in 2010. Route E66 ran straight through the village until 1984 when the road routed was outside the community. Gårdstånga is an ancient community located at the bridge over the River Kävlingeån along the highway between Malmö and Kristianstad. It is believed to have been settled since the 10th century. Gårdstånga church dates from the 13th century. The pulpit (1612), altarpiece (1612) and font (1621) from Gårdstånga church are the works of Danish sculptor and carver Jakob Kremberg, who was a prominent maker of church carvings in Skåne during the reign of Christian IV, King of Denmark and Norway. Gårdstånga is the site of a Bronze Age burial mound, in Swedish Gravhög from the Old Norse word haugr meaning mound.
