Sankt Olof

Saint Olaf's Church (Swedish: Sankt Olofs kyrka) is a church building in Sankt Olof in the Österlen region. It is the parish church of Simrishamn Parish in the Diocese of Lund. The church is a popular pilgrimage site among different Christian denominations. This is due to the ancient Saint Olaf cult and the presence of the sacrificial site Saint Olaf's Well (Sankt Olofs källa) in Sankt Olof. The village was originally called Lunkende By, but since the church was Denmark's largest shrine dedicated to Saint Olaf, the original name was eventually forgotten, and the entire village adopted the name of the church.

Österlen (Swedish pronunciation: [œstɛˈɭeːn])) is a region in the southeast of the Swedish province of Scania (Skåne). Historically, the region was shared between the counties of Kristianstad and Malmöhus for a small part in the southwest, until Skåne County was created in 1997. Österlen includes the municipalities of Simrishamn and Tomelilla and a rural part of Ystad. The towns of Simrishamn and Tomelilla are of very similar sizes, but the Simrishamn municipal population is somewhat larger. Österlen has approximately in between 35,000 and 40,000 permanent inhabitants but plenty of seasonal vacation homes means that the population soars during summer months. The area is a tourist destination known for its natural environment, historic buildings, fishing hamlets, small towns and farmland.

Gårdlösa is the site of an Iron Age settlement in the parish of Smedstorp in Skåne, Sweden. It was inhabited briefly during the late Nordic Bronze Age, and from the 1st century BC–11th century AD. A woman's grave from the Roman Iron Age was discovered in Gårdlösa in 1949. The grave contained a silver fibula on which there was a runic inscription. Between 1963 and 1976, archaeological excavations were carried out on the house foundations, grave fields, and a shrine. The rich and varied material uncovered has enabled scholars to perform cross-domain studies of the inhabitants' social, economic and religious life, giving a good picture of an Iron Age agricultural settlement and its resources. There are two stone circles; two irregularly shaped cobble-clad graves and a smaller one; and a circular formation of stones from the late Vendel Age or the Viking Age.

Smedstorp is a locality situated in Tomelilla Municipality, Skåne County, Sweden. Located 15 km west of the town of Simrishamn, Smedstorp is a small village with 363 inhabitants in 2010. On 1 January 2002 the current parish of Smedstorp was formed from the amalgamation of six small parishes Kverrestad, Smedstorp, Östra Ingelstad, Bollerup, Tosterup and Övraby. So, the parish of Smedstorp extends beyond the village itself to the surrounding farms and hamlets. Smedstorp is also a postal district covering and even larger area.

Hallamölla is a waterfall on the Verkeån river in Tomelilla Municipality, Skåne County, Sweden. With a combined drop of 23 m (75 ft) across five cascades, it is the highest waterfall in Scania. A watermill at the site was first documented in 1491 and remained in operation until 1949. Hallamölla lies within the Verkeån Agusa-Hallamölla nature reserve, a 1,132 ha (2,797 acres) Natura 2000 site established in 2009.
