Fjälkinge

Fjälkinge Church (Swedish: Fjälkinge kyrka) is a medieval church in Fjälkinge, in the province of Skåne, Sweden. Much of the church dates from the 12th century, with additions made later in the Middle Ages. It contains medieval murals which were discovered and restored in 1967. Fjälkinge Church belongs to the Diocese of Lund.

Bäckaskog is a locality situated in Kristianstad Municipality, Skåne County, Sweden, between Ivö Lake and Oppmanna Lake, with 293 inhabitants in 2010.The village has developed around the castle and the Premonstratensian monastery. The monastery was constructed in the early 14th century and after the destruction of the monastery in Vä, the monks from there were moved to Bäckaskog. With the Danish Reformation, the monastery was turned into a castle and rewarded to Danish noblemen of the families Ulfstand, Brahe, Bille, Parsberg and eventually the Scanian family of Ramel. The castle was also owned by Swedish king Charles XV and crown-prince Fredrik of Denmark between 1885 and 1900. It was here in 1805 that a treaty was signed between England and Sweden, whereby Sweden joined the war against Napoleon. Bäckaskog was connected to neighbouring towns of Sölvesborg and Kristianstad via the main road (now E22) and had a railway station, servicing also nearby castle of Trolle-Ljungby Castle, along the Sölvesborg-Kristianstad-Railroad. Allegedly (Nordisk Familjebok) the name refers to the Swedish words for stream – bäck and forest – skog in that the place held them both.

The area has Stone Age remains; the name of the village is probably derived from the word rinkʀ (Old West Norse rekkr), meaning 'man' or 'warrior', and by denotes a settlement in Old Swedish. Rinkaby Church was built in the 13th century and contains medieval murals and an astronomical clock. It is an agricultural community; in the 19th century, the area was famous for growing tobacco, but now specialises in the rearing of Angus cattle.Outside the village is a military training area called Rinkabyfältet which is often used for major Scouting events. A national jamboree called "Scout 2001" had 26,500 participants; the 22nd World Scout Jamboree in July–August 2011 was attended by more than 40,000 Scouts, Leaders and adult volunteers participating, from 143 different countries.

Kristianstad Vattenrike Biosphere Reserve, a protected swamp area in the Hammarsjön Lake, surrounding the town of Kristianstad in Scania, southern Sweden. Sweden's lowest point is located in the reserve at 2.41 metres (7 ft 11 in) below sea level. The point is at the bottom of what was once Nosabyviken, a bay on the lake of Hammarsjön. The bay was drained in the 1860s by John Nun Milner, an engineer, to get more arable land for Kristianstad. Established in 2005, it provides habitat for a large number of endangered species of birds and fish. There are also deposits remaining from the Ice Age, the forests of Hanöbukten Bay and the rich wetlands of the River Helge. The Kristianstad Vattenrike Biosphere Reserve is visited by about 100,000 people every year.

Råbelövsbanan was former racing circuit in Kristianstad, Scania, Sweden. The circuit is located 5 km (3.1 mi) from Kristianstad and 100 km (62 mi) from Malmö. The circuit had length of 6.537 km (4.062 mi) and width of 6–8 m (20–26 ft). The circuit was named after the Råbelöv Castle.
