Laholm Municipality (Swedish: Laholms kommun) is a municipality in Halland County in southwest Sweden. The seat is located in Laholm. The amalgamation process during the local government reform in the 1970s took place in two steps. In 1971 the City of Laholm merged with two rural municipalities forming the unitary municipality and three years later four more units were added.

Laholm is, despite its small population, for historical reasons often still referred to as a city. In the 13th century, Laholm was the first in Halland to receive city rights. The Lagan is one of four main westcoast rivers in south-western Sweden besides Göta älv. It is 244 kilometers and is one of the longest rivers in southern Sweden. More specifically, it ends in the Bay of Laholm, a part of the strait of Kattegat. People have been following the river from the coastal areas since the Viking Age and settling in its vicinity. Along Lagan was a trading route, the so-called Lagastigen ("the Lagan path"), which is now part of the road E4. The straight middle and upper course of Lagan follows a branch of the Protogine Zone —a zone of crustal weakness in western Sweden.

Laholm Bay Beach (Swedish: Laholmsbuktens strand) is the longest sandy beach in Sweden. The beach stretches from Stensån's estuary in Båstad all the way to Halmstad along the Bay of Laholm. Dunes and meadows follow the gently curved bay of 12 km. The beach is a wide, soft sandy beach and shallow and mighty dunes separate the beach from the rest of the coastal area. The name Laholm Bay beach is used in the media as a collective name for the beach along the beach resorts Hemmeslövsstrand, Eskilstorpsstrand, Skummeslövsstrand and Mellbystrand to name a few.

Skottorp Castle (Swedish: Skottorps slott) is a castle in Skummeslöv parish, Laholm municipality in Halland, southern Sweden. The main building consists of two floors and is surrounded on both sides by independent wing buildings. In front of the castle there is an English park. Skottorp is not far from Hallandsåsen. It is a building monument since November 28, 1986.
